You're right that the song makes more sense as "let go" rather than "live, go."
To me, though-- looking at the way Eric sings the song, it looks like his lips are shaped more in a "soft" consonant sound ("v") than a "hard" consonant sound ("t").
I love the way it looks as though Craig would dearly love to whiste along to this, but isn't able to.
