Kristy lived in Korat and Krungtheb since six ... but she still a farang. Many Thai in USA grow up there, like Tiger Woods, but they are Americans, of proud Thai descent. Her, Jonas, and Johnny Olsen are farang, but they are preserving Isan/Lao music and culture. Most Westerners think of Thailand and think Pad thai, peanut sauce, temples, Ong Bak, and prostitutes. Cut them some slack for embracing Lao/Isan culture, something most Tai Thai people refuse to do. At least they aren't asking you to make them pad thai for dinner.

Agree. I think Maneemukda has a greater voice, and the musical arrangement in the original version is way sweeter and more sentimental.
