@screamorockstar yea to bad tht stupid lions are starting a rookie instead of the all time best culpepper. staffords not as good as culpepper USED to be
Daunte Culpeper is regarded as one of the most talented players ever to play the game of football. Such a shame that talent has gone to waste. His first five years in the league were simply spectacular. It was quickly realized however that he simply lacked the passion and the drive to be considered even an elite player in the league. This man could have been up there with the greats. His career now sadly is slowly drifting away....
u cant hate on daunte. hes one of my fave qb's. he did ok wit the lions. take into consideration he had a shit oline and had maybe 4 seconds at the most to find a target and throw. he was realy good. i wish he and moss were still in minisotta.
The reason Culpepper was'nt the same after Moss left is because he then could'nt figure out defenses. When Moss was there he knew Randy would be doubled covered, and even then there was a good chance he'd make the catch. No such luxuray after Moss departed. The biggest break Culpepper ever got in his career was having Randy Moss as a receiver.
6400 your argument doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Culpepper's best season was in 2004, when he had 4,717 yards, 39 TDs, 11 INTs and a 110 qb rating.
That was also Moss' worst season by far as a Viking... he only had 49 catches for 767 yards and missed 3 games with injuries.
So if Culpepper's success was entirely dependent on Moss as you argue, it follows logically that during the one bad season Moss had in Minnesota, Culpepper's production would suffer. But in fact, the opposite happened.
That Mosss did'nt have as many catches in 04' does't really correlate to Culpepper's performance.
Moss's contribution to the team can't be measured only in the number of catches.Similarly, a db can't be judged only on ints, or a lineman on sacks. Moss' mere presence allowed for predictability .Culpepper always knew the side Moss was on would stacked, leaving the other side open.
Even if he didn't throw it to Moss, the attention he comanded was just as good if not better.
Moss' contribution can be measured by, ahem, the number of games he plays.
And in 2004 (Culpepper's finest year), Moss missed five games; he didn't dress for 3, and in the other 2, he dressed for pre-game warmups but didn't play in the game. That's a 5 game stretch in which Moss caught 0 passes.
Up until 2004, Moss had never missed a game.
So, doesn't your logic dictate that during the first injury-plagued season of Moss's career, that Culpepper's numbers would dip, at least slightly?
But I'd be more likely to fully agree with you if Moss would have missed, say 10 or 12 games, and Culpeppers numbers would have been the same. Then I'd have little argument but Moss was was still in 11 of them. Not much questioning Culpeppers 04' season, but there where always concerns about his QB play.
After departing from Minnesota, Moss played with other QB's and Culpepper with other receivers.Yet Moss' #'s haven't dropped like Cupeppers.

i think that culpepper can suck my balls if you think hes one of the greatest qbs of our time fuck you tell one good thing about him or records he has or something he did without randy moss
Daunte Culpepper is a great QB its jsut he hasnt been given the chance to be a franchise qb since his injury, he needs to go to a place where hes not jsut keeping the spot warm for somenone else to come in and take it, i bet if he gets the chance to be a teams qb and be "the guy", people will see hes still in his old form. if that doesnt happen we may have lost what would have been a future hall of fame qb.
he used 2 be up there with mcnabb brady and manning. now he probably won't start another game in his carer. i miss him with the vikings but he's just not that person anymore.
