Caesar Salad

LOL hail Caesar! so funny! I didnt learn till very recently that Caesar salad traditionally has anchovies and obviously whenever i get caesar salad (not very often) they HAVE to had made it wrong since im allergic to anchovies!!!

Thanks! Made this tonight, quite good:D New Year res is to not eat anymore wheat or any whole grains, or mayo, or ketchup, so I think we will be eating lots of this from now one! (btw not my choice to not have those anymore. Or dairy)

So any recipe suggestions? Especially for breakfast and lunches please.

Sorry Titli but iceberg lettuce does not count as good food in my book because it has no nutritional value, i'm really sorry but thats how i feel but the rest looked Good.

@Brighteyes1ful No nutritional value? I looked that up and discovered that Icebur lettuce is "low in Sodium, and very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Thiamin, Vitamin B6, Iron and Potassium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Manganese."

@TitliNihaan What i should have said is that it contains no protein as kos and romain lettuces as well as little gems they are all higher in protein than iceburg, plus don't you find that iceburg lettuce is full of water?

@Brighteyes1ful I'm not saying that Iceberg is my lettuce of choice because it's not. It's "OK" and available. Romain is definitely my lettuce of choice when I can get it :-)

@lotsabots Not necessarily. I like to add a couple of anchovies into mine. The original recipe by Caesar Cardini didn't use anchovies at all. Adding things like anchovies, mustard, bacon bits, etc are modern variations.

I dont like Anchovie slices but i do like anchovies paste its a texture thing im weird like that.

That recipe would be illegal in restaruants in many places. Serving raw unpasturized eggs is illegal because of the risk of salmonella related illnesses, especially for immunodeficient people. But can purchase pasturized eggs from some commercial food supply companies.

Iceberg lettuce? Surely a Cesar salad is made with Romaine lettuce. And usually the dressing is made in the bowl that the salad is tossed in. I'm sure it's much better than what you were served in the restaurant.
