  • According to this report, another reason to shut it down is because Texas refineries will "Profit" from reselling diesel fuel to Europe according to this report from Al Jazzerra. Well we certainly don't want America to make a profit and we certainly don't want to be able to supply Europe.

  • No that's for the Arabs .. Arabs like Al Jazzera the same ones that beat women for getting raped and treat women like a house pet that won't listen with brutal punishment for'disobedience". The advantage of the ‘Tarsands” is that they are surface oil, no drilling, no Gulf of Mexico. The fear is environmental destruction. After construction the lands are reclaimed

  • It‘s a massive version of your gas pipelines sent to your cities and homes. Maybe it's just me, but the hypocrisy in this video is about as blatant as it gets. Modern pipelines detect a breach immediately and transfer stations can immediately stop the flows. There are already pipelines al over North America. Listen to the Arabs if you think they have the answers and just keep transferring you wealth abroad .That’s your business. We’ll just sell it to China.

  • Leave it to the people of the US to bow down to the all mighty king's final say! We have finally reached the point where states are no longer sovereign. A state is basically property belonging to DC and the Governors of each state are basically non-factor lords with pretentious titles. The governors of the proposed states should make this decision regardless of Washington and move forward without any blessings. Let the chips fall where they may and reclaim your state for what it is..A STATE!

  • Money money money!! Why not for one second can ppl stop being so concerned on the size of their fucking wallet! Trans Canada hired their own ppl to do what their claiming was a "environmental inspection" when in all reality it was one of the many blind folds placed over our eyes to hide the truth. You would think that after the oil spill of the Gulf of New Mexico, instead of learning from our mistakes we create new ones such as this pipeline desecrating the beautiful mountains, forests, and w

  • Well, Obama stopped it. He just killed thousands of jobs...again! The eco nuts in the U.S. are destroying the U.S.!

  • Build that pipeline just build it to be safe to the environment.

  • people in canada are at work right now building the northern part of keystone, it will go

  • this is to the president , MR PRESIDENT : BUILD THAT PIPELINE

  • The US has to get oil from somewhere, and Canada has to sell it. You have no choice, but to accept. It would help lower oil prices, if Canada increases supply. It will help keep Alberta Tax free, and full of social serves like free healthcare. Thank you US, all that money makes Canada a great county to live in.

  • They said the same thing about the Alaska Pipeline.

There are more Caribou now then there were when they started it.

And why do I have to go to AlJazeera to get this view?

  • This pipeline will finish no matter, billions are dollars are funded by corporations and the only reason why Obama delay this is because of re-election.

  • Why is it not refined in Canada?

  • Let me get this straight. Al Jazeera, which is based in the oil-rich region of Qatar, appears to be quite hostile to Canadian oil-sands development (from the one-sided parade of "experts" to plain language: Al Jazeera's reporter chooses to use the obsolete and misleading "tar sands" label for what are actually "oil sands"). But let Americans balk at this chance at their peril. The oil sands will be developed. Canada has the money; a local refinery would be built, and a Pacific port will serve us

  • Canadians, if you refuse, US will invade your country.

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh HaHa and that was probably the most correct comment on this video.

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh US will never invade Canada, It would anger the world.

Besides Canada is in the British commonwealth. Starting a war with Canada is not a smart move. There is a reason we don't need a big army.

  • i hope you all realise that all your petty little social problems won't matter when there's no fucking earth to live on.

  • How does a pipeine hurt farmland or aquifers? fucking dolts

  • @MegaHouseGuy only if they are damages and broken. It's called Leakage.

  • @makemap lol ... and what are you called

  • @MegaHouseGuy Ever heard of Black crops?

  • @makemap ever heard of bullshit?

  • $16 billion a year in Canadian government revenue to be made and $3 trillion into the Canadian economy over the next 15 years, if the US doesn't want it TransCanada will simply pursue the plethora of opportunities in China while you'll continue to fund Iran.

  • @SpoonHysteria Who owns TransCanada? What gives Obama the right to decide? This dictator in the USA partnered with Harper in Canada are just manipulating more under the table agreements from the ILLEGAL estate of Honey R Siegal DEAD. This Al Jazeera network in English in D.C. is mocking the fact that in 1999 from my multinational co. of Zenadev the USA was dissolved! Attorneys linked to Homeland Security Janet Napolitano stated the US was NOT the US nor Canada nor Mexico. Honey R Siegal (NOTDEAD

  • We're digging ourselves into the ground.

Once we taint the water, its all over.

Large groups of Canadians don't want this pipeline.

Chief Dan George: You can't eat money.

  • @peymaania Have you noticed that Obama's words and actions is 180 degrees out of phase.

If He says go Green that means go Oil. So that does not surprises me.

  • The earth is our bitch and we can fuck her when ever we want!

  • The pipeline is wonderful! Period. Drill baby Drill!!!

  • I hate environmentalists!

  • I'd rather have energy INTER-dependence. This draws us in to cooperative and dependent relationships with foreigners. When goods cross borders, troops tend not to. Trade tends to help people on both sides of borders.

  • Hello, I'm canadian. We have a lot of tar sand petrol. If we refine it, the rest of the world will look at us mad. If we send it to the USA, they will lower the amount of money they send to Saudi Arabia which finance terrorism all around the world AND the rest of the world will look at them mad, not us canadians. Merci :)

  • @tabarnakdostidcalis you aren't canadian you stupid fuck, learn how to speak english before lying on the internet again, loser.

  • @WinkyMaeve Obviously, you don't know nothing about Canada. My english is not that bad for a french-canadian !

  • @tabarnakdostidcalis Est ce-que vous parlez français?

    Je suis désolé

  • people don't want this build corporations do, from what we have seen so far they will get what they want at the expense of everyone else. the us government does not represent the people.

  • 0:35 Is this guy crazy? Obama has already lost the 2012 election. He is going to do as much damage as he can before he is booted.

  • Is that video footage of some other pipeline? Or are they already building it?

  • i love how the only time Canada is mentioned is when it involves the US. where was RT or AlJazeera when steven harper lied to the Canadian public about our air force spending, or when we had the biggest election scandal in the history of the entire common wealth?

  • @brightclaw11 They just do that because they know most of the idiots that

watch RT or AlJazeera are America viewers. So most of the content will be

geared towards Americans. Unless it has to do with violence , riots , boobs

or israel < This is RT. I will give AlJazeera credit they have a wide variety of

    news content.

  • @wtf0804 yeah at least the news here is sometimes happy, the disappointing part is i have no reliable news here, @smartwarlord i have freedom of speech you fucking cracker.

  • @brightclaw11

    Shut up moose fucker.

  • These environmental groups are naive thinking obama owes them anything... He is a federal reserve puppet and will not honer any campaign promises!

  • go ahead shut it down, we will just sell our oil to China

  • These environmental groups are ridiculous. If they would actually vote Obama into office again if he stopped this pipeline, they are idiots. They obviously have no problem with the destruction of the dollar, corporatism, the Fed, the wars, losing civil liberties, government ignoring the constitution with pretty much every bill, et cetera.

  • All of those tree hugging and hyper hippie environmental extremists protesters need to mind their business. These freaks are also the same freaks that support the "Occupy" movement, and must be dismissed as mere scabs on society.

Build the pipeline and bury the protesters in it's path.

  • @canadaeast Draft the occupiers to build the pipeline.

  • i have an idea build it but keep the oil in usa or canida simple!

  • Obama in a dilemma between his voters and his funders / masters ...which side to pick ?

  • bush or obama no difference....just puppets of big business.

  • Being president must be the shittiest job in the world.

  • @BBP081 Only when you make it so. Obama's trying to balance appeasing big business with the people. As president, he should realize that the people come first. Then it won't be so difficult for him.

  • I live in Calgary and know a lot of people on the business end of oil sands production, and they all want this pipeline. Yes Alberta does not have many refineries and ships oil down to the States instead, but this is actually the most economically viable option. If you were to look at a map of oil sands related pipelines, you would see that not only are there already many pipelines that nobody is complaining about, but this plan has been in the works for years.

Sorry, but you guys are wrong.

  • Damn you oil, there's a lot of you.

  • @thesage555 Thats's funny; As a Canadian myself, I want the tar sands to DISAPPEAR FROM THIS PLANET.

  • Why would we (Canadians) want to send our refining jobs to the USA? I want those jobs to be done in Canada; America can buy our refined oil.

  • @TheSage555 Costs bout $1 Billion to build. Then you have the permitting ect.... No new refineries built in the states since the 70's. I agree tho, prefer us to refine and keep the oil ourselves. We have been selling oil to the states for years at a big discount. $1,35/L where i live

  • Wow, a news report that shows that there are two reasonable sides to a complicated issue without hyperbole or bias. I knew there was a reason I subscribed to this channel. Great work guys.

  • obama will do as he is told..

extremists don't just hate the US, it is getting to the point the whole world thinking clearly should hate the foreign politicies of that imperialistic, war mongering nation.

  • America could also stop being the oil-glutton of the world, and instead invest in public transportation and much-more fuel efficient cars.....The construction industry would back building a pipeline that dumped nuclear waste into this country if it meant construction jobs.....Bet your last dollar that the corporate-owned U.S. government will be behind this pipeline, they take their orders from their corporate masters.

  • In that case, why don't we open our own refineries and ship oil to Europe and Asia? Cut out the middle man :D

  • The environmental groups are a bunch of loosers who should mind their own business. The only downside I have with this pipeline is that I don't think Canada is getting the best bang for the buck from it. Canada should build its own refinery and ship the finished product through the pipeline. That creates more jobs at home. We don't need Texas for anything.

  • @MihaiBorcan But Canada is doing fine. Americans need jobs. Canadians don't. Shows how much Canada and America love each other.

  • I thought it was a good idea until they said about it being shipped from Texas to Europe. I guess the U.S. will continue killing people in the middle east for oil instead of just getting it here. Obama is just another Bush.

  • Obama is nothing but a puppet... he will do as he's told !!! get a clue...

  • when will we finally spend all that money on a cleaner solution - time to think in revolutionary new ways....it's actually soooo late man!!!

  • Get your own natural resources! oh wait you fat asses have eaten all of them already.

  • I am Canadian and I am against this pipeline, but in Canada the corporations rule over the government and democracy.

  • canada has the worst environmental record in the world among industrialized countries. they also enjoy clubbing baby seals. nuke the fuckers.

  • @petefentonp LMFAO. Fuck you clown.

  • @petefentonp fuck that shit; whats pissing us of is Americans stealing our oil. We are destroying our environment we might as well make the most profit from it.

  • I'm a Canadian and I don't really want that pipeline built either. If we're mining the resource we should be refining it ourselves. Building that pipeline is a stupid move economically for us.

  • @IndulgingExistence Too late, it`s all finished on our end(canada) I worked that line 4 years ago, and it`s been completed for a while now. Guaranteed that it`s going to go through, those oil companies don`t invest that heavy unless they know they are going to get a return, this is just a show, negotiating with unions state side thats all. Having it sit there empty creates a lot of problems though.

  • @IndulgingExistence

    I blame PM.Harper...

  • @IndulgingExistence Yep. WTH should it go all the way to Texas, we can refine it and sell the finished product ourselves.

  • @IndulgingExistence Yes. We should also look at our transportation in Canada being diesel engines to make the most of the fuel grade that is most easily refined from the oil sands.

  • @IndulgingExistence We won't get the oil profits either, only pollution and more corruption.

  • @IndulgingExistence ""If we're mining the resource we should be refining it ourselves""

F--k all you garbage Canadians, we need it!

  • @IndulgingExistence

Man, thats not true. The oil sands are still being developed all by themselves, and building additional refineries to support it would be a HUGE investment when there already are many refineries south of the border. To the point where it is simply economically sound to export the raw oil down to the states. If you were to look at a map of all the pipelines, you would see a web of lines sprawling from Ft Mac, all going to the States.

  • @IndulgingExistence Not when you can charge us a dickload for the raw product. lol

  • @IndulgingExistence Do you know how much money Canada will get from this pipeline?

  • Nonsense. Obama is more of a threat than any oil sands. Oh Yah folks he is lying again.

  • @zombiesack agreed their fucking idiots to hell with them

  • I thought making oil from tar sand was expensive and inefficient.

  • @AccordingtoWes It is but it makes a fuck tonne of money. That is why they do it. Canada needs to be a pioneer of Thorium energy.

  • @DvineGaming It's unlikely to happen because Uranium is plentiful and less costly to make use of in Canada. Energy should be about sustainable environment but it is all about money and I don't see the profiteers changing their minds anytime soon.

  • @AccordingtoWes LOL. It so it, but the market has reached the point where it will pay for how expensive it is.

  • @AccordingtoWes Obviously not expensive enough.

  • @AccordingtoWes with technology advancing the way it is, the price for processing is going down

  • @AccordingtoWes

They are not the tar sands, they are the oil sands.

  • @AccordingtoWes You ever watched Crude awakening?

  • @AccordingtoWes as the price of oil rise, it become profitable

  • @AccordingtoWes As the price of oil rises, so does the potential for profit.

  • @AccordingtoWes The tarsands pollutes huge tracks of land permanently and also pollutes air with much CO2. It is sad that this is being done.

  • @rollsthepaul bullshit

  • @MegaHouseGuy The tarsands are as bad as I say. Do some investigation.

  • @rollsthepaul people who say "do some investigation" or "do your own research" have no idea what they are talking about.... BUT, I actually happen to know what I'm talking about, and this is the most stupid thing I've heard in a very long time. Tell me about these "huge tracks of land" that are being polluted by the tar sands operations... if you can that is.

  • @AccordingtoWes old news

  • they want to build a pipeline to dodge taxes? could they really save that much to cover the cost of the pipelline? If so, good job gov't on protecting the people your supposed to serve. That pipeline will leak or break in the future and poison the aquifer. Have there ever been oil pipelines that didn't leak or break? end of discussion

  • How does "American Energy Independence" (presumably from Middle East oil) equate to establishing secure supplies of CANADIAN oil ? Besides, the USA should exploit (and deplete) their own oil reserves in Alaska first instead of looking to use up everybody else's oil reserves first and saving their own for last!!!!!

  • @anthonymaw Well actually, from a strategic standpoint, they shouldn't. You should use up their supplies of oil first and save your own. Then when others have been depleted, you still have oil for yourselves

  • Yes, because that's exactly what we need. More oil.

  • This is all bull Shit , there's other technologies out there for energy , but not as much money and control involved

  • Anybody who supports Obomber is a warmonger who has blood on his hands. Bleating about the environment is hypocritical; how much good do you think the imperial wars have done to the environments of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, et cetera?

The environ-mental cases are liars at best.

Btw, anyone serious about the problem would be advocating thermal and tidal energy -- but Obama's masters own both the oil companies and the environuts, so don't hold your breath.

  • Idk about you but when I hear that the water for 6 states, the people and their crop, that feeds everyone in this country, is in danger of contamination I don't care what your argument is, nothing can justify the safety of the people in this country for a few mounths of work and a few drops of oil. And to claim otherwise is ignerant and inhumain. If you want to doom us all for someting we won't even see a single benifit from than go ahead. The deaths of 200 million is on your hands, live w/ that

  • @CloudN9ne2010 Google pipelines in the united states and see the maps. This isnt a new idea. Oil will either go to help power the states or pipeline will go west to ports to sell to china. Will be sold either way

  • The US should give up on their damn oil and start working on actual alternative viable energies. I m quite sure they have something already available but the lobbies won't let it out until the last drop of oil has been sucked dry from the Amazonian forest. $

  • Comment removed

  • 00:25 The aquifer down there is already stressed. Not many years before the Southern USA would rather pipe water through that thing than oil.

  • Canadians are so stupid. Instead of building refineries here, refining the tar sands, and selling the processed oil products.. we ship the raw materials to the US at below cost prices and buy it back at inflated prices.

  • @JogBird "We" aren't doing that; it's the American-owned politicians in Ottawa.

  • The problem is they claim it won't be in contact with water, but some of the farms they want to put it on 2 inches down you hit water. If it does seep into the water it will ruin water for 6 states. All they have to do is move it next to the old one that bypasses aquapher but they refuse. As to why they refuse idk they have yet to give any reasoning behind it. Hell it would even make it cheaper to make if they did.

  • Lite Sweet Crude / Conventional Oil has peaked.

    Affordable Oil has Peaked.

Brent verse West Texas Prices is? 50% higher..

Saudi Arabia has had the same reserves ging back 20 years.. from the same wells.. that have pumped out almost 10 million barrels a day, once again for the last 20 years and their reserve numbers have not changed.. in other words they still have the same ammount on paper that they started with.

Wake Up!! search "Jeff Rubin" here in You Tube and educate yourself!

  • ahah, hilarious comments

  • obama is bushs cousin

  • Water for millions - When the water is un-safe to drink where will the people go? Most places in the US struggle for water supplies.

When the question of basic needs being taken away, over something that is only short term weatth for part of the 99% and still short time in any benefits justifiable?

When the tar snads are gone, the water will still be un-safe for hundreds of years...

Nothing can save America... Either way things ARE going to change.

  • @cyclenut

The entire planet is ruined. Its going to be a slow suicide. and its all due to greed.

I'm just hoping for a giant asteroid to wipe us all out

  • @tradernorton05 It would be quicker to just hang yourself.

  • @tradernorton05 god will replace us soon.

  • It's a threat to Native land from Canada through the American Midwest and down to Texas. Blow jobs are jobs too. We need occupations!

  • @iHasTehFlow "Because the everything" - Republicans.

  • obama fuckin sucks

  • I don't see the dilemma. We will use oil and gas a minimum of 100 years.

  • there goes more jobs down the tube..... Obummer

  • excuse me? it's a dillema for Canadians Obama can fuck off

  • @MrROTD Well said.

  • Back off Obama!
