  • brill review fella! im going to get one on amazon for holiday based on yr top class review oh mighty bearded one !!! thanks

  • I absolutely love this review. I'd been looking for an e-book reader since the Kindle first came out in the US then I was gutted to learn it wouldn't be available in the UK. Your review was the one that persuaded me to go for the Sony which I've had since January. You have great on screen presence. Can you do some more reviews, please cowfishbill?

  • The first ten seconds of your video made me rate it a five. ha

  • fantastic video dude!! i'm going to get myself one today!! thanks so much!!

  • The review I wrote: a dark, brooding atmosphere pervades this novel set in a strange, menacing world which is hard to place, timewise: dark ages? Some futuristic state? The politics - republic established after overthrow of monarchy, with communist overtones - seemed futuristic; but the infrastructure - old castles, lanterns, primitive weapons - seemed historical.....

  • The characters were interesting remodels of stereotypes: the young woman with undeveloped supernatural powers; a cossack-like spy/assasin; but there was an original twist to them.

On the whole this was driven mainly by the dark atmosphere. I would read this author again.

P.S. I write reviews so that I don't read the same book twice accidentally. It's been known to happen!

  • It looked very much like a Mills and Boon so I quite happily avoided it - I might give it a go when I get through my current To Read pile...

  • Did you read "Poison Study", the pre-loaded book shown in the vid? I did, it's not that bad.

  • It's not my kind of thing, but I haven't deleted it yet...

  • Dear God did he sniff the damned thing at the beginning...??!!

  • I didn't, but I just went back and had a sniff just for you - it smells like a cardboard box.

  • I suppose you discovered you need the sony elibrary to load your books onto the reader ;)

  • You can actually load PDF's (which you can download off the pirate bay) like you would with any USB mass storage.

  • I use Calibre (for free ebooks) or Adobe Digital Editions (for paid for ebooks) as I don't have any DRM'd Sony ebooks (due to their store not working the UK)...

  • Me again: if you like Calibre, take a look at the MobileRead site.

  • A viewing angle and a half, lol.

    Cheers for the vid.

  • Are the books free?

  • It depends on where you get them from - it can read PDFs and Sony reader books, as well as a bunch of regular text formats. I bought a book last night as well as downloading a bunch of freebies....

  • Awsome
