@Hadrien06100 You write, that the slavs where opressed by Vienna. My grandfather, born in 1906 at Istria and ethnic croatian, became after the treaty of St. Germain an italian citizen. Perhaps it is new for you, but the Italians prohibited the croatian language... The Austrians never did this. What do you mean, which opression was harder? The opression by Vienna or the opression by Rome? The big jail was only replaced by smaller jails (Jugoslavia, Czekoslovakia, Romania, Italy,...)

@1michael80 The Austro-Hungarian Empire has been grossly over-criticized. One of my ancestors played violin in one of the Emperor's courts. Like the Ottoman Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire managed to keep the peace among a huge array of peoples with diverse tongues. Far worse than the treaty of Versailles were the treaties of Trianon and Sevres. Had not the Austro-Hungarian Empire been dismantled, Hitler never would have gotten his start.

@DrbcaCz HAha. Minority rights were invented in Austria-Hungary. Other European countries didn't knew the minority rights until the ww1. Czecho slovakia = ethnic cleanising of Benes. CZ= Horror for minorities.

First Romanians arrived to Transylvania after the Mongol attacks (1241-42) and the majority of Romanians immigrated after the Ottoman genocides of Transylvania,.

@Hadrien06100 the english empire was in many ways worse - and i'm not just saying that as an Irish citizen (Ireland been a former colony under England) but they treated India and a lot of parts of Africa horribly as well....France also was quite a violent and brutal empire, so was Russia (although it was an even worse empire under communism)

Dank den Gründern der zweiten Republik haben wir auch noch die Haydn Hymne verloren.. :-( Hoffentlich wird Österreich bald eine demokratische Monarchie werden. Zum Teufel mit der Republik und seinen geldgierigen Politikern.

@masahikox die haydn hymne haben "wir" im prinzip schon 1918 verloren. es gab zwar die kernstockhymne, die der melodie haydns entsprach, aber das war eher ein ausreißer, da der ständestaat allgemein das alte große reich verherrlichte (siehe änderung des adlers)

zu geldgierig: glaubst du allen ernstes die monarchen wären weniger geldgierig? glaubst du allen ernstes otto von habsburg würde auf luxus verzichten nur weil er ein habsburger ist? eher nicht.

Bei solchen Videos kommen mir immer die Tränen. Warum ist es soweit mit Österreich gekommen. Südtirol, Untersteiermark etc. Alles verloren. Dann kam noch Hitler und viele Gebäude unseres letzten Kaisers wurden dank ihm zerstört von den vielen Menschenleben ganz abgesehen.
