  • 13 people don't appreciate how hard this is

  • I dare you to do a 30-seconds-long trick... :)

  • butterfly knife in U.S but i was originated at philippines ..the filipino called that "batangas knife"

  • @XDpinoy I still give credit to the French they have the oldest recorded evidence of this style of knife. The art technique to flipping is definitely all Filipino.

  • @Roadsideimports I myself am a Filipino but I would have to agree that it was first invented by the French. They have actual documentations of patents dating back to the 1700s whereas Batangeños say they came up with it during the 1900s (some say 1800s but thats pushing it). Pinoysteel (a leading manufacturer of balisongs in the world) also acknowledges this. One thing is for certain, the popularity of the Filipino Balisong has surpassed that of the European Butterfly Knife for years.

  • Why work when we live in a new socialist world. I'll let you work and pay taxes while I sit at home and collect all the free handouts.

Work is overrated so why bother?

A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.

    Thomas Jefferson

That is why America used to be a REPUBLIC

    Jefferson said

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

  • @Roadsideimports damn u jus ripped that fool lol

  • tribal tattoos are totally gay

  • whats a good way of convincing tour parents to buy a knife for you im 14

  • Say its a Training Knife (Isnt Sharp and can't be Sharpened) And that its for Tricks and is Educational.

  • Yes a trainer can be sharpened but it depends on what metal material is used for the trainer blade and then that will determine how well you can sharpen it.

  • get beat up and say you need one for your protection

  • I don't want one so you don't have to convince my parents!

    Problem solved!

  • you have answers for my questions???? wow thats great cuz its hard to find some one like that.

  • happen to know what kind of knife is in the second clip and where i might find it

  • beautiful !

  • the first knive is a BM42 and yes i live in canada to but im going to the states to get a butterfly knife

  • Don't need to order the trainer model that is unsharp and then sharpen it or order a KIT model.

  • i dont whant the training model im going to the states to get a BM42 only pussys use the dull knife

  • Then buy a real quality knife and don't waste your money on Benchmade junk. Buy a Robbie Dalton model, Jerry Hom model, a Spyderco model, or a Cold Steel model. Stay away from overpriced garbage

  • From my website at AssistedKnife

  • man i used to have the same knife as you but my bro broke it so im getting a new one

  • I have always wanted a butterfly knife and learn how to do that crazy shit...:D

  • Theres an extrem sport that the french copied to from asia. Jackie Chan is been doing this before the french even know this stunt. where they jump, flip, scales a building. but the point is, if your the one who expose it its yours even though they just copy. see you

  • There is proof that Jackie Chan did this before the French in his early movies and that demonstrates physical evidence your claims possess none so therefore have no merit other than speculative and unfounded statements unless you can provide proof which you refuse to do because I know of none to date myself for a fact so the French have a physical claim that they invented the Butterfly knife period unless other evidence can disprove this that dates prior to 1700's

  • Well, considering that Asia was the pinnacle of civilization throughout the Dark Ages in Europe (400-1500ish AD), it really is much much more likely that jheweng's citation from Wikipedia that the balisong dates back to 800 AD. Regardless of France's physical evidence, it is much more likely that it is a commonality in design, like the way House music was simultaneously created in Chicago and Britain.

  • You should also note the colonization taking place, the French version of balisongs could most definitely derive from their interaction with Spain(Who occupied the Philippines for 300 or so years), from personal accounts and designs. The fact that no physical evidence exists does not necessarily disprove the origins of the balisong in the Philippines. We lack actual physical evidence of the Big Bang, but due to the plausibility of the theory, it is widely accepted. The same rationale applies.

  • The Pilipinos are the original inventor of these knife. the handle is made out of carabow horns. and we have another weapon it's called the "pana." And no, this is not your tippical bow and arrows. It's the SIGE SIGE SPUTNIK WEAPEN OF CHOICE.

  • That is very untrue and not founded by solid proof. Then French hold the oldest claim with a book outlying the design in the late 1700's Then the English hold a Patent design in Germany in the 1800's and the Spanish also made them in the late 1800's this is well before the colonization of the Philippians and well before the claim of 1910. Infact they were being built in the US in 1905 so your claim is false unless you can supply solid proof to this otherwise the proof lies with the French.

  • Back in those days natives don't know how to write. but they used this weapon long time ago even before spaniard came. remember who killed the famous explorer Magellan? thats where they get this weapon and reach europe. but since the knife got famous and it came from the 3rd world, europeans took the credits. Have you seen our other weapon, the Sputnik "PANA?"

  • I don't agree with you at all it doesn't matter about written documentation. Because you have no proof either than items that date to 1910. Where are all these ancient items that you speak about? Because there are none to be seen in any museum or anywhere other than your speculation and hearsay notions. You must provide any kind of solid proof otherwise your claim is a fairytale and its a good one don't get me wrong.

  • "ancient Filipino invention dating back to 800 AD, stating it to be the most ancient of weapons of the Filipino fighting system of Eskrima[4]." on wikipedia. These are the weapons of ancient filipno native. long before the philippine were put into the map.

  • You simply don't get the point. Your date is not backed up by proof. You can talk out your month till the cows come home but you don't have any proof from the 800 AD mark. There is no physical evidence. So this is the end of this unless you can provide physical evidence the earliest PHYSICAL EVIDENCE belongs to the FRENCH period unless you can provide this so called evidence.

  • If only we have a time machine. but did you search it on the net. all filipino knows that this weapon is theirs. they even have a village name after this and that village is very old. this is the problem 3rd world face. not enough exposure.

  • Buttefly knives are easily noticed in a fight but this is my personal opinion that not a survey, but still nice tricks.

  • that is so hot

  • Do you know who invented the balisong knife????

  • That is a big debate, there are knives that date back along way to Spain, Britain, and France. Go to the BalisongCollector and read his information it is the best on the net and he explains things very well.

  • i always thought they were a philippine thing. Other names are "Batangas" or "Beinte Nueve"

Balisong (supposedly)comes from the tagalog "baling sungay"

  • my bro got stabed 7 times with one of thease

n he still alive hard mother fucker

  • Well, tell our fellow country men to quit being retards and behave themselves. Knives are functional tools and met for such practices. If things go any further in the UK they will band pencils in schools because they are weapons as well and we already have to many retards in our country. Try to behave your stupid notions of problems with one another and address the real issue of loosing our homeland to Pakistani scumbags who want nothing more to do than kill us.

  • God damnit you pown my skills at this shit.

  • well he wants to practice more when opening it then ! silly boy!

  • apparently your bro is lucky thats not the original "balisong" If it's the real deal just one stab your bro will bleed internally to death because of the design of the blade if it's the original one.

  • @jheweng He is lucky but people get shot in the face and survive one stab from a balisong should be cool.

  • whats with all the videos

  • What's with Canada there avidor3? I run an online store so I post videos content of the items I sell so that buyers don't have to look at pictures in 2 dimensions and can view the items relative to a hand and figure out the size rather than try to do math. It is a selling tool and helps people decide on items.

  • Excellent

  • I had xpensive ones whch are heavier but in the end the best 1 that I still have, is a cheap and light one. Short too(maybe 22cm total). My tricks r very few coz I aimed at opening as fast as. You 'butterflyers' will know what I mean when I say 'skip 1 step': 'standard opening' is 3steps, right? You can make 1 and 2 into 1step. (P.S. better to get back home with a black eye than to have stabbed someone to avoid it happening).

  • You make those cheap knives look amazing. Who needs a Benchmade with moves like that? =P

  • Be fair everyone needs Benchmade or a Microtech. You haven't seen true quality until you have.

  • I'm not saying that they're not great knives, my brother has a Benchmade 42. It's a great knife don't get me wrong, but I was referring to the amazing skill that is illustrated by the individual in the video without expensive Bali's.

  • Let's be fair there are 4 individuals in this video, not all the same person. I am going to do a demo video and explain some tricks shortly. Feel free to visit my online store and you'll find alot of items.

  • thats true i never understood till i got my bm42

  • the part thats head on looks like your doing sign language haha great moves

  • nice moves... keep posting...

  • nice moves... keep posting...

  • top moves 5/5

  • nice man. you sure got fancy moves. you should learn arnis too to really use that thing when it matters, but then if you are or already did then good for you. ^_^

  • What is arnis? Never heard of that so do tell.

  • its a filipino martial art. its more popular as a stick fighting art but the moves taught makes use of any other bladed or blunt weapon and even when unarmed.

i can only share so much here so try looking it up. some people call it cali though. they got tons of videos here on youtube you might wanna watch if you're not busy.

  • nice but the only thing wrong is some videos are fastforward so you can barly see it and the screews were loostened so it can open and close faster.

  • Ah, no, its called practice with a trainer butterfly model so you don't cut your fingers off and then when your good enough used a real model with a sharpened blade, and no they were not fastforwarded they were slowed down to show the moves.

  • oh cool!

i new kids who had lostened knives and some of the moves looked to fast to be real!

  • The best thing to do is simply by a trainer model, then all you get is beat up knuckles versus cuts.

  • Taping the blade also works well.

  • wow

  • wow
