Hi I just bought a Tascam 2488, I can't get it to record to Cd I am very new at this last time I did a recording was on a Tascam 24trk 2" tape years ago. I have all the tracks mixed now I cant figure how to master it down to a CD.. Wow am lost, Any help would be great. Chris

Ok, my friend, NEVER have music in the background while youre recording vocals. thats a GIANT mistake. always have the monitors silent and the only music should be coming from your headphones. And you have a soft voice, so you would have to get closer to the mic for more presence in the song.

how did you record your voice without all the instruments being played with you at the same time? Your using a TASCAM TEAC Professional 2488neo right? Do you know how to record while listening to the other instruments that were recorded being played also?

@PennyVox What DAW are you using? it depends on that most of the time. most sound cards are capable of doing what you are asking.
