  • Please someone save my sould and give the names of the first and the last songs...Please...I'm from bulgaria so sry if there are mistakes

  • how long did it take to actually learn that much to be able to make this kind of games?

  • Which linux distro is this?

  • Profi inc!

  • haha i picked a random song to replace the old. i had a much cooler song until youtube removed the music due to copywright

  • O.K, I forgive you, lol

  • Good job!

But your coding style isn't better than mine :P

  • THNX SO MUCH FOR THIS! your website is brilliant

  • are you working on any big games right now? just curious

  • You can't be using windows... What is your OS?

  • it looks like a distro of linux.. hence the Konqueror, as well as other "K***" programs.. Something using KDE.

  • a linux

  • People who thinks that video game are stupid, they should at least appreciate the people behind the extremely long hard-working years of programming.

Dude you are FANTASTIC at this! You programmed it like a breeze. I myself am too going for VG programming since I love video games. So can I ask, what language are you using? It looks like C++ or something.

  • its just straight up c buddy

  • c? hmm if u take the time to learn c might as well learn c++ right>

  • He's using C

at least that's what the file name said

    "game1.c"

  • yeah, he's using c. When he compiles, he uses gcc.

  • where can i get a linux's IDE???

  • I'm really impressed!

Could you recommend me a book about game mathematics and others about background game (including "moving" background) in allegro?

I got a lot of books but no one of them go deep in those aspects.

    thanks

  • unfortunately I can't. I never learned from books. every game programming book I read sucked. To be honest, I may write one some day because of this. I learned from trial & error, editing demos (copy-paste-edit technique), and lots of internet forums. just keep at it and you'll get better with time. try to write a game right now with the limited knowledge you have, it'll be frustrating as hell but you'll learn alot.

  • The basics I got in allegro... but when it comes to make a game with backgrounds and things moving around, I really got difficults...

    Thanks for the advise!

  • mac is possiable the worst system you could write games on, then you dotn have all the fun of getting past windows erros :P

  • unless u also run windows like i do

  • @PerfectkillClan yy.. its linux

  • very good programmer. almost no typos. good

  • Looks like kwrite and gimp.

  • So cool .

The background music is also good.

    An excellent programer.

    The editor is also cool.

  • whats then name of the first song?

  • concavator

i'm c++ programmer but what is the diference use

static void , is mnore quick?

and you use static int const why u use #define?

  • oh really?

    who cares for your opinion?

  • emannet are you stupid? c++ is the core of all games if you cant do c++ you'll never be able to pursue a career in programming because even today nothing can really match the standards of c++...

  • static is a safe-ism to prevent variables from leaking across multiple cpp files. its a technicality and a habit of mine, you can safely ignore it here

  • nice.. because in C# i use a lot that..

  • c++ sucks??? lol

  • how long did it take you to learn the language? and which one is it?

  • It's C.

  • Nice Job (and no IDE, too)! That's pretty hardcore... What IDE would you recommend (or do you ever use one)?

  • for small projects, I don't use an ide. kdevelop is good for larger ones

  • Is kdevelop available for gnome? I don't really like KDE, which leads me to my next question: Why do you use KDE? I'm still fairly new to the Linux scene...

  • its just a preference. you can run kdevelop under gnome. you don't have to be in kde to use it.

  • Which sources do you recomend to learn allegro??

  • look up a book by johnathon s. harbour hame programming all in one third edition, its part of thomson course technology, whatever tht means...well its freakin awsome but u need to know basic c++/c

  • Very nice, thanks a lot. Where did you learn the Allegro libraries?

  • the os is Linux

  • Sorry, but I'm a n00b when it comes to Linux. Which distro is it?
