@Physicspilot - No, I drove across it in February 2009, and it appeared to have been standing for a while then.

I had not stopped in Sogakope before, as it is roughly half-way to the border town with Togo, Aflao, and on my last this way in Feb 2009, I went through this town without stopping, except for the toll-gate.

It really is a lovely town, but it is certainly underrated in terms of a tourist destination.
