  • dive school.. hell yes im droppin a school packet!

  • i am water polo player, swimmer, and have been certified for diving for 5 years

    and i am only 15

    am i interested naw

    lol

  • Certified rescue diver. Love this stuff!

  • I like how the instructor says relax at 9:27

  • What is difrence between USAF combat diver or special forces diver??????

  • Isn't this what they do in the 2nd phase of BUD/S?

  • It's pretty obvious that MSG. Reed is a class guy.

  • Very interesting to see the background of their job.. even though I totally don't even want to try to stand in their shoes, I'd break in pieces :')

  • Does anyone know how deep the pool is?

  • @bilsy28 10 ft.

  • @TheNavySEALS87

Thanks, I wanted to practice the right depth

  • i swam 100 100s on the 1:30 in swim practice.....

  • @acds413 Put into the following class of SC diver trainee's

  • man that looks rough good thing im not doing that

  • split fins how gay is that

  • "Divers Do It Deeper"

  • The US is finally collapsing under losing wars of attrition and the profits of their ruling bankster class, and still they indulge in this ridiculous bravado of their mercenaries.

  • @trakkaton - Yet another idiot who has zero clue how economics works. Has the EU also engaged in "wars of attrition"? The US is going through a recession, not a depression. The economies of ALL nations go through highs and lows; the fact that America has such an abundance of resources & technology means we'll never fully collapse, though our economic influence may diminish slightly. Regardless, we'll be in the lead well into this century. If you don't like it, you can always commit suicide.

  • @DarthCormac

What a pile of shit you are. Unable to read, too dumb to think, and "zero clue how economics works". Your inability to grasp even the fact that the USA are bankrupt disqualifies you. Have fun with your rabid fantasies while your cognitive dissonance still works, you are in for a long fall into the abyss, screaming hysterically.

  • thumb up if u hold your breath while watching the soldier dive...:D

  • what do they mean by recycle to the next class?

  • Maybe if I squint really hard I can pretend they have gills so I don't have to feel like a complete failure of a swimmer... O.o

  • This is too hard. That's why I respect Divers and SEALs so much.

  • im already a certified diver, watching this will be pretty interesting

    thanks fmcc

  • @Paxiphon No prob.

  • @fmcc0904 if season 3 comes out....ill be willing to have anal sex with yu to upload them all.

  • @ARMA365 Well. That's nice of you and all, but I'll have to just settle for the satisfaction of sharing fine programming with others. I doubt they're doing a 3rd season, but here's hoping.

  • @Paxiphon AOWD OR OWD?

  • Scary~

  • how many times can tucker take the course again?

  • wowers. all those special forces guys look sooooooo young :/

  • one day..

  • that water test where they swim under water , i do this everyday with my father

  • i love this show and ive been trying some of the stuff they do in the pool. i can do the bobs no problem and i can travel without using my feet and hands but i tried picking my goggles up 10ft down with my teeth and then doing bobs and i couldnt breath. anyone know the technique?

  • @Izanamias Lung capacity. Go to the pool everyday, and hold your breath a little longer. I did this for high school track, and by senior year I could swim over 60 yards on one breath. I breezed through the swimming portion of Recon Indoc.

  • @SSgt24thMEU so thats like 55 metres. thats a lot. the most ive done holding my breath is 1 length of the pool underwater which is 25 metres. so i need to be doing 2 lengths. ill work on that. even still. when holding something between my teeth then coming up to breathe... i try breathing through my nouse and inhale water or try breathing through my mouth and its difficult. thanks for the advice.

  • eiiii....toughest one...

  • Thumbs up for the dive instructor standing at parade rest underwater @ 5:23

  • so how do you rate the toughest school? the one thats the most physically demanding that tries to make you quit or the one thats the easiest to get dropped because you failed a safety test like swcc or score a 27/35 on the marine sniper shooting range?

  • @MATTWITT1976 I say the most mentally and physically demanding. BUD/S is tough, you have to be incredibly resilient to soak in freezing water, and Recon Indoc. requiresthe same toughness.

  • @SSgt24thMEU 'freezing' water in america, i know technically it probably is... but compared to the north sea/channel water it's probably luxurious, how lucky i'd be if i could do training in the US rather than portsmouth harbour :L still divers respect all of their own species (Y)

  • @TheDrummerboi94 Oddly, in the summer, the North Sea is actually warmer than California water, and in the winter, it's roughly the same temperature.

  • @SSgt24thMEU yeah i can see that due to the gulf stream and north atlantic drift.

  • @TheDrummerboi94 California is not on the Atlantic Ocean. Anyone who has seen a map can tell you this. And don't give me an excuse that you're from a different country either, I've met Afghans that could barely speak English that know this.

  • @SSgt24thMEU whoops my bad, neglected to read the California part, of course i know california isn't on the Atlantic coast, my excuse is i'm blond (Y) and a diver... Nitrogen in an already empty brain.. still i laugh at my own stupidity :L

  • @TheDrummerboi94 I like the brutal honesty! I'm dive certified, but not a fan of diving :P

  • I always watch an episode of STC before I go do my own training. It just really inspires me for some reason.

  • swimming close to the bottom of the pool while maintaining a slow heart beat helps while trying to do the 50m underwater swim test.

  • Remember, SEALs are at home in the water.

  • @mhia4, Oh no I meant "ok" with it cuz you have to be "comfortable" with killing anything in order to prosecute your mission. I'm sorry, engaging a target.

  • hits my username and look up my personal website where you will acquire the

    website you want .

  • Can anyone give me tips on how to stay under water longer? Is it mental or is it conditioning like running?

  • @TheRydaddyops910 try just inhaling, and hold it as long as you can, you should be able to hold it for a longer time eventually.. If you do this often.

  • @TheRydaddyops910 It's both. Staying under water is very much a mental thing. Even if you practice it is really important just to stay calm and focusing on the moment. I think it gets easier if you try to calm yourself before you dive.

  • @TheRydaddyops910

I know that this is 4 months late, but I think it's both. You have to be in good shape so that when you breathe in your lungs will pick up more oxygen. But if you don't have the mentality to fight your urge to breathe and stay calm (When you panic you consume much much more oxygen) you'll fail no matter how good of shape your in.

  • @rlaito59 You're probably correct, but just an admin note: the Spartans predated the Romans.

  • @fmcc0904 Thanks for the correction.

  • @brokennailstudios, due to logistics of our current involvement in the middle east, the military is currently re-evaluating their stance on women being combat or front line soldiers. I would like to ask any woman wanting to be a ground-pounder if she would be ok with killing children? Harsh question, but a relevant one in determining a soldiers mindset.

  • @damones1 You may want to rephrase that because anyone saying that they're ok with killing a child, man or woman, shouldn't be carrying a gun. I get that it may be necessary, but being ok with it???

  • @papacharlie123, my apologies I should've stated the fact that I have first hand knowledge, and yes I agree with your comment that most of the "know-it-alls" have no experience nor any credibility or were just REMF's.

  • @papacharlie123, no I'm not. I'm an eight year ex army combat vet who, because of my MOS, was a joint forces taskforce soldier. I had the privilege of working with all branches and I worked closely with SF and Seals as a tactical cultural immersion specialist ( gave crash courses in latin american or romance languages and cultural ques). When you're detcahed to any special ops unit, you are put through acclimitization training. Physical training that ensures you can at least move with them.

  • @damones1 Alright man, you should've said that you had experience, cause most people on here that bash "not it alls" are hypocrite 12 year olds.

  • Ok for all of you know it alls, all special ops traing overlaps. They are all comfortable in any environment and unless you've gone through it stop trying to state your opinions as facts.

  • @damones1 and you're not a know it all?

  • wow, this is nothing. I'm rather surprised that you can become a combat diver with out having any prior diving experience. pathetic

  • Special forces are better than just the normal army coz they are the select few ELITE that get through. There training is soooo much harder. The army is still extremley tough though!

  • WOW scary stuff i wonder whether girls would be allowed to do water training

  • @kialn women aren't allowed to have infantry jobs

  • @brokennailstudios i've seen loadssss of wmen in the army

  • @kialn yes, they can be in the quartermaster corps and other jobs, but they aren't allowed to be in Infantry or Special Forces

  • @brokennailstudios ohhhhhh i get ya! XD i wonder why is it just coz they aren't as physically strong?

  • Comment removed

  • @kialn I'm not sure, I think its because they don't want women getting killed. I'm sure some women could do this as well as men, women can be as strong, but men just have more muscle.

  • @brokennailstudios yhhhhhh i agree

  • wow....this is why seals are # 1!!! they learn all of this stuff alone in BUD/S seals are best

  • @MrBboy1234567890 BUDs is much less hardcore than this course. BASIC underwater demolition. Not any seal can do that stuff, only few (as an exemple, sections from DEVGRU)

  • Wow now that's what I call swimmers ! I went to the pool today and did one lap underwater and did about 2 hours swimming, but that was nothing compared to the drownproofing exercise these guys have to go thru. These guys are real men ! Tomorrow I'm off to the ocean to hit the deep. I love swimming. It's very healthy.

  • EVERYONE SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE FUCKING INTERNET!

  • Bad ass

  • So spetial forces are bettle than the rangers ??

  • @infinithope no military squad is better then the other. Some just do more than others.

  • @offishboss1

ummm....Kid, What you just said is, the Navy seals are no better than the national guard....You're truly an American idiot.

  • @infinithope

    yes.

  • @infinithope

Listen, they all do different types of jobs. So you can't say, for example, that a regular U.S Marine is better than a regular member of the 82nd Airborne, because they do different types of jobs. The US Marine is better than the Airborne soldier on what the Marine is trained for and vice versa.

  • I could do this easily...... NOT

  • So when these guys complete the course do they get assigned to ODA's that are Combat Dive specific.

  • so i have a question. do these guys get training courses before they even tryout for this. Like if they fail do they have courses where they can go to where they train you physically and mentally to past it

  • can women be divers yet?

i hate that women arent qualified for seals.

  • @perseveranceisthekey No they can't. Nothing Infantry and nothing Special Forces.

There's plenty of reasons for it too. The first being that men don't like to see women die in combat. Picture your mom being shot and you'll understand. Secondly, a woman in the best shape of her life will never be as physically strong as a man. Fact. Has nothing to do with men being superior, it's just how we're put together. Thirdly, women break easier and get sick easier. You don't want our jobs. Trust me.

  • @ItheSwick

Exactly, if some of these guys cant handle it how could a woman.

  • So is this training similar to Navy SEAL BUD/S Phase 2 training?

  • So you're telling me since 1 out of 3 makes combat diver, that means 1 out of 3 army sf guys become wannabe navy seals? Basically a combat diver is a Navy SEAL or UDT.

  • i respect the us SF. great ob guys!! from the uk :)

  • oh...my...gosh

  • fmcc0904 where u in the military

  • are they the green berets?

  • @orla222 Most are, It says in the beggining " Taking only the best, Army Rangers and Grenn Berets "

  • Nice tv show I saw it on Discovery channel,Great show !!

  • Woaah woaah pause for a second.... did I just hear that army spec ops divers "become the most highly trained combat divers on the planet"

Not being offensive but Navy SEALs cover that just a little better..... come on

  • @Bandito729 Are you a SEAL?

  • @fmcc0904 Right. Since obviously you aren't...shut the fuck up.

  • @fmcc0904

I was just making an observation. its called youtube. you can do that kinda stuff. G.A.L.

  • @Bandito729 Nice attempt at a smart-ass acronym. Fail and block. Fuck off and hump a sailor's leg, for all I care. Morons.

  • @Bandito729 It's all a government cover-up. Theyre just trying to take the SEALS out of the spotlights after killing Osama and starring in too many video games(US Navy SEALS SOCOM, MEDAL OF HONOR, etc.). They lost favor in the Army after the Contra incident. They're discrediting NSW too much. Then again most of this is written and narrated by civilian who usually dont got their facts right.

  • @coolguyearz Oh man! Boy, do you have ALL the facts! It's not like these civilian film makers are RIGHT THERE with the military, who is giving them all the information for this! How could I think that they would get their facts right, especially if it's straight from the source (you know, the military?). You have this figured out, man

  • Michael Phelps would Ace this

  • @9960434 He won Olympic gold in a pool of still water, swimming from one end to another. Not (as in the later phases of this training) getting rocked around in the open ocean and diving to potentially deadly depths. SF also doesn't accept potheads.

  • Comment removed

  • @fmcc0904 my friend got such a high asvab score that he failed the drug test and the navy still wanted him so they asked him to enlist when he was sober so he did and now hes a navy seal :) who will smoke a fat one with me whenn he gets back... dont underestimate the potheads son

  • @rensooooooo I had a overall of 97 and a GT of 125, both of which are near-perfect. Proves nothing. Point was, Phelps got busted with a possession charge and SF does not look kindly on that. So, don't OVER-estimate yourselves with the law-breaking burnout lifestyle. Laughable.

  • @fmcc0904 He did pot one time don't hold that against him. On top of that many competitive swimmers do open water swimming as well. If you have an Olympic medal in any swimming event I'm sure you have enough endurance, strength, and or ability to feel safe and comfortable enough in the water to complete this course. Maybe not with flying colors, but being a competitive swimmer I know we do exercises resembling some of this stuff daily.

  • @UlSlUlRlNlAlMlE And yet, this is only the tip of the iceberg for this certification. Do not equate anything civilian to this, period.

  • @fmcc0904 I'm watching part two right now, and some of this stuff I do everyday at practice.

  • @UlSlUlRlNlAlMlE This entire episode is only the very beginning of the training. They are not going to show the amphibious ops involving explosives, infiltration, and other facets of combat diving, which I guarantee you don't practice on as a competitive swimmer.

  • @fmcc0904 Well that would be a little extreme if your only a competitive swimmer, I'm not saying we're guaranteed to make the course, I'm saying that us being as familiar with the water as we are, we'd have more with lack of a better word familiarity with the course. I'm sure if there was a competitive swimmer with combat experience or who's a a spec. ops vet they'd have the upper hand. The i initial thing I was saying was that Michael Phelps would do well with certain aspects of the course.

  • @UlSlUlRlNlAlMlE And the initial point *I* made was that SF is not fond of taking in people with drug offenses, so he wouldn't, since he'd not get into the course. Also that he has no concept of avoiding nitrogen narcosis, deadly pressures, and as they get into the later phases of this training, many other more specialized skill sets that NO ONE is assured to "ace". It's an even playing field at that point. So, sorry, but your and the other fellow's posts are still in error.

  • @fmcc0904 I didn't know you couldn't have any narc offenses period, I thought you were implying that a guy currently using narcotics wouldn't be allowed in. I'm pretty sure nobody can "ace" any of these tests, not even the best athletes or the most experienced vets, hell I bet even the instructors would have a tough time. Michael Phelps would probably fall short of the more experienced students pretty early in the course. In no way am I implying he'd pass for sure.

  • @fmcc0904 Like the training instructor from Marine Recon said: "I don't care if you're on a swim team or anything like that, cause the ocean will humble you real fast."

  • @brokennailstudios Being on a swim team will put you ahead, though, unless you've never had any open water experience your entire life, which for me personally is something unfathomable. Time and again, however, I've witnessed naive people underestimate the ocean and completely ignore the dangers of it, acting as if it IS a pool, when in reality the ocean is the wilderness. You can be in the middle of a city like VA Beach, but the minute you step foot in the ocean you might as well be in Alaska.

  • @fmcc0904 Ahahaha i dont even need to look back in the comments to find out that 9960434 is talking about saying phelps could do this. I will admit because he is the way he is in the water and trains his ass off and i too am at an international level in competitiveswimming. if phelps were to do this he would have an edge but you are completely right he would still get rocked the shit these guys do is unbelievable my hat goes off to anyone who wants o join this program

  • Imagine if the U.S. was like 480 B.C. Sparta, or 2011 Israel, where every male had to enlist in the military?.

  • @blackyblackblack505 That would be fucking great, there would be less disrespect towards those who are serving or previously served

  • @jerryboy219 Amen brotha!

  • I tried the drown proofing test at my beach club pretending to have my feet and hands tied. i failed miserably.

  • that drown proofing would terrify the frickin crap out of me!!! These guys are amazing!

  • Fuck my life, I'm deaf/mute, I can't join the army (already asked the Captain at the recruitment office.) I would love to do Combat Diver course, but sadly it won't ever happen to me. If you're not disabled, the army is a GREAT place to begin your career, but it is definitely not for everyone. :)

  • @JennyAakiwa and what can u tell me about our brave soldiers who lost arms, legs, or even died during war time?

  • @JennyAakiwa thank you for sharing. You perspective helps me look at the tough military training I'm about to do as a privilege.

  • This may look physically challenging but in the water keeping calm is the key

  • If you want to be operate in the water, Become a Navy SEAL or Marine Force Recon

  • holly shit thats crazy

  • damn man these guys are already army special forces and some of them drop out of this? shit

  • @mrlebowski562 that's why they joined the army special forces cause they don't like the water. Truthfully, they're not going to send Army SF into the ocean out of a sub to assualt a target. They're going to send the SEALs. Sending Army guys to learn how to swim is stupid. This is a big waste of tax payer dollars, somebody drop some dimes to the IG.

  • @coolguyearz Yeah well seems like personal preference to me.

  • @coolguyearz LMAO telling me to get my facts right, dude reading your posts you're a troll. And you're spreading wrong information too.

  • @fawas

Pararescue training is certainly extremely difficult, but when people talk about how high their atttrition rate is and how long their training takes, they leave out the fact recruits are air force personnel who often have little experience with physically and mentally demanding high stress training, and little to no infantry or survival training. This is a big reason why their attrition rate is so high and the training so long. Thats not the case with other elite military units.

  • is this course the actual dive course or just to get in??

  • this is the only course ive seen that im like "I CAN NOT DO THAT"

  • Who are the Highest trained. Please respond (I don't know)

  • @Armageddon6297

id say pararescue cuz their training is 2 years after qualification

  • @fawas92 agreed

  • im a pj so i know, water confidence SUCKS

  • @DopeyMURKBOT Leave water to the navy, just stick with the land. You wont catch my ass doing any of this shit, so good on ya

  • These guys are the cream of the crop, its amazing...

  • People seriously watch these videos and then have the nerve to downplay how difficult the training is or actually try to say there is a "better" team out there? They're all impressive.

  • I want to do this EXTREMELY bad... fmcc0904 how would one go about getting into this type of training? thanks

  • @codename23ify Training for combat diver is elective (as in you apply for it), but your commander can send you expeditiously, if he/she believes that you will succeed. After all, it's their recommendation on the line.

  • @fmcc0904 oh i see. ok thanks for your help much appreciated

  • @codename23ify first you must go through the army special forces assessment and selection process then finish the "Q' course of the army SF. that could take up to 2 yrs then you have to be assigned to a SCUBA team then you get to go to this school. im in the 18x program for the army which you get to try out for the special forces upon completion of BCT, AIT, AIRBORNE school, and Special Operations Preparation Course

  • @codename23ify get in extremely good shaped be able to do 70-85 pushups in 2 mins 80-100 situps in 2 mins and be able to run 2 miles around 14:30 mins or less join the army via 18x program(special forces) or infantry then pass SFAS and then pass SFQC the join a special forces ODA that is also a scuba ODA then they will send you to this school

  • @codename23ify Enlist in the Navy, go to BUD/S, survive hell week, then you get a chance to do this.

  • It be cool if a random whale came and helped them

  • omg random whale comes and help them that be awesome

  • @olin10 Where are you getting the 70% fail rate for SEALs because as far as I know special ops training throughout the different branches of the U.S. military all have 80-90% fail rates.

  • @TheGreyKnightXx with SF contracts you have to do over a hundred things right and one wrong thing and they kick your ass out.

  • @TheGreyKnightXx Go get your facts right

  • nobody bashes on these guys because of the branch in front of it finally.im tired of hearing "oh the Marines are better" really they aint there is a reason only Americas best is allowed in these programs no run of the mill marine stands a chance in this barely any of the best trained marines pass ranger school. which is why when u hear bout a marine passin it gets so hyped up. Everyone stop bashin these already finely tuned warriors respect them you most likely cant do it

  • it seems like marine recon, pararescue, sfdiver, navy seals, us coast guard all do the same job?

why not just have regular forces- spear head units- special forces. job done.

  • @aethefox7

They all carry out very different missions. Recon does exactly what its name suggests. Pararescue rescues downed pilots behind enemy lines. SF divers infiltrate their objective by means of underwater travel. Seals mainly do underwater demolitions that's why their basic training (BUDS) stands for Basic Under water Demolition course. Coast guard patrols our nations seas and keeps them safe. All different jobs, that's why each one exists instead of one unit.

  • @RtNSlipknot good job, exact info

  • @RtNSlipknot Wrong. SEALs just don't dive underwater and blow shit up anymore. Thats what theyre formerly known as UDT. SEALs do all 3 catergories Sea Air and Land, the only one to do so since Vietnam. Puddle Pirate coast guards dont patrol the seas by themselves, they're usually attached to a Navy Carrier Strike Group or a Anit Narcotics Combined Task Force, and if they're not doing that they're usually giving you a ticket for operating a boat while intoxicated.

  • @aethefox7 Yeah thats why they have JSOC(lightbulb!)

  • Ok... let me get this straight.... They'll do the freakin Navy EOD training. But the SEALs they dont even think about. That's bullshit. SEALs have the most brutual training in the US military (Not that i'm saying that the other branches' training isn't brutal too) but come on. The SEALs are a Lengend! When I saw the pararescue episode for the first time, i was like "Who?". Not to diss any other branches, don't get me wrong, I have high respect for ANYONE in our armed forces. Just opinionating.

  • @ChrisVogt62

Ok, so heres the thing kid. They didn't do the SEALs, because EVERYONE does the SEALs. They wanted to do shows about the other ones. There is nothing that proves SEALs BUD/s is tougher than the other training programs. There is a reason you were like "Who?" when you heard about PJ's. It
