The only reason obi wan actually won that battle was cause he was using his anger, clearly he was pissed and that gave him the power and motivation to kill him. Darth maul though would have ended him really quick without qui gon

@cobraz22 Possibly...but both Qui Gon and Obi Wan used the style of Ataru...and Maul forced them/lured them into a place that suited his style anyway. He fought Qui Gon on Tatooine and possibly worked out Qui Gon' style of choice...and then also calculated his apprentice was using the same (if so he was right) Ataru needs lots of space and room for acrobatics. On the dangerous walkways and especially in the reactor room, Maul held a strong advantage of footing due to his violent yet focused form

i didn't ike the prequels, but i think they should have taken Count Dooku/Darth Taranus out and just had Darth Maul in all three of them. don't you think so? like somehow he escapes the fight with Obi Wan and gets away only to be killed by Anakin in the 3rd. he was too badass to go out in one movie.
