  • It's pretty bad. Extreme fatigue and passing out.

  • this happened at Church but it was worse i couldn't see anything so my mom start praying then it went away

  • this is totally how i feel. Gosh i really like you dude!

  • thanks very much for pointing out what it feels likes. i have gotten that hungry dizzy feeling b4 & always thought i was just really hungry now i know thats not what it was... now i don't have diabetes but it runs in my family and today i went to the doctor and found out my blood sugar and my iron was dangerously low and now i have to take all these pill. my prayers go out to you. i know how difficult it must be... again thank you..

  • Type 1 for 23 years. Anyone else whos a type one ever get low and because of it..get emotional sometimes ? That is horrible. Totally weird to not only get really low really quick but then at the same time, sorta come unglued. I friggin hate that!

  • For me, I can tell when a low is coming on because my eyes start wigging out on me. I told my husband it's like when you rub your eyes in the morning and you "see" light even after you stop rubbing your eyes. It totally intensifies the sensation if I walk from a light to a dark place (like from outside to indoors). I IMMEDIATELY test when I have that sensation.

  • Kinda

  • you video did help a little, I could never understand why I was always tired and hungry. I'm not diabetic but something tells me that this could change. (Time to see my doctor that I am too poor to pay.) thanks again!

  • 1:54 THAT IS WHERE I AM!!! please help me! ive been dizzy for over a year now and i honestly dont know what to do! what do i do???

  • These videos are great, its proper inspirational to hear someone like bill talk about diabetes so positively, i've had type 1 diabetes for about ten years but i never stop learning about it because the disease is always changing and as a result is unpredictable to say the least. Keep up the good work matey :).

  • That was a perfect description of having a hypo. I get that terrible hunger feeling, as though l hadnt eaten all day and then the shakes start, and l begin to feel unwell. I know l should have some jelly beans or something in my bag at all times but l dont think about it when my sugar is under control. It usually takes me about 20 mins or so before l feel better.

  • Hannnnnnng on, I haven't experianced this in a while but I did a lot as a child & in my teens. Indiramoon, "Certain low sugars make me HATE any type of noise, even my favorite music, it all just sounds annoying at that time, chaotic." This reminded me & I wonder if it's similar at all. To me things will literally start sounding & feeling like they're sped up a notch. Any sound, movement, even my own thoughts. Chaos is the perfect word. Please tell me someone else can relate to that feeling lol

  • haha sounds about right. I Never want to eat when I'm low, until it drops really low & gets to the point where I'm shaking, hearts racing, sweating, etc. Then I feel like I havent eaten in days & I'll eat enough to last a non-diabetic a week lol

  • I love Diabetes.

  • greattt advice...i get the same way

  • I get shaky!

  • I dont have diabetes but i get low blood sugar sometimes. If I dont eat every 2 hours or so it drops. I hate it lol

  • Hey 1HappyDiabetic,i Start hallucinating when i have a Low Blood Sugar,is that Normal?

  • Comment removed

  • For me, it's the shakes and mood swings. I get ultra nervous, confused and have that feeling you get right before you pass out. I carry glucagon everywhere I go. Scary stuff!

  • How about that feeling of needing to go hide in the quiet, cool dark. Certain low sugars make me HATE any type of noise, even my favorite music, it all just sounds annoying at that time, chaotic. Everything is brighter when I feel that way and it bothers my senses immensely. Confusion also for me is a very bad feeling, especially when you are around others who don't know you well, it is embarrassing. I too, experience that stubborness and anger someone else commented on.

  • Hey 1HappyDiabetic..... that was a pretty good description imho. I tend to also get tunnel vision and the humming/pulse beating in your ear. (Which I guess would be similar to a headrush) Along with anger. a kind of savage anger.... the only focus is fixing the feeling. Damn anything that gets in the way at the time. There is also that stubbornness before getting TOO low, that you want to keep doing what you were, and ignore the low. Which ofcourse just makes it worse. Maybe thats just me.

  • Love the video, I showed it to my little brother because he keeps telling me he feels low just to get some candy.lol

  • u have a leptin deficiency

  • i have different reactions to low blood sugars. Sometimes, i dont have any, sometimes it the shakes and the headache, etc etc etc.

it depends, I'm guessing, what my level of stress is at the time. thats just a guess

  • I am the exact way

  • I have some of those feelings but I have Reactive Hypoglycemia. The lowest recorded level I have seen my blood sugar get is 43. The problem is to so much the level as much as how fast I get there. But anyway It might be different for me since I am reactive Hypoglycemic. When my sugar is low it is usually before I reach hunger pain. So I hardly have hunger pains because my sugar starts getting low so I have to eat something fast. Like your video :)

  • im not sure if i have hypoglycemia.. beacuse suddely im sweating need sugar and feel weak.. it happen a few times..

  • @MakeupGeekAddict if you're not really sure, you should go to a doctor and get yourself checked out.

  • thanks

  • I know a few people with different signs mine are very simlar to the guy on the vid , the adrenalin pumping feeling ,

  • I am twelve and have had diabetes for almost 2 years now. When I am low I get really shaky and my cheeks feel sweaty It almost feels like I have a fever or something. Is this normal or should I be worried?

  • I have some diabetic symptoms when I have low blood sugar. Sometimes but not so often I get hangover feeling and puke and feel weak and cold sweating but it go over if I do not eat in 2 hours (weird). I am not diabetic but I am "addicted" to food

  • Hitting a low to me makes me feel like im drunk with out being drunk. That feeling of disconnect and blured vision the feeling of hearing speech but not processing it completely the fact you can tell there is something funky but you almost feel normal and as time passes without treating it It gets way worse. Its way a lot more scary then being drunk but to me has close to the same stage feelings

  • my sugar level ( they told me ) was 35 when i woke up in the hospital

  • @mondecello ...just recovered 1 hr ago from a hypo 33....that sucks man..I was driving and felt it but just got pissed off , didnt want to pullover until i reached home and couldnt get outta car..just checked my bg and it was 33 ....had my soda ,relaxed for a while and home now watching 1happy diabetic videos which i like to...it helps.......cheers

  • In my opinion, I find your way of express your point is quite agressive, like you seem to "teach the listener how to grow up and being an an adult"- speatch...

  • What if my hunger feeling is gone, and can go almost 24 hours (so far), without feeling the need to eat and only drink juice etc?

  • @bayinghound666 You can have hypoglycemia without diabetes.

  • @Graciemay97 True, but it is not in any way as intense or dangerous as it is being a Type 1 Diabetic.

  • Does having the symptoms of hypoglycemia mean that I'm diabetic? Sometime earlier this evening around 5 pm, I started trembling, with a light sweat and a really deep sense of hunger. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, I'm 19, male, 250ish pounds. I hadn't eaten all day, and I drank 2 full pots of coffee, 12 cups in each pot.. Is this just because I've had too much sugar and no substance? I'm worried I might be diabetic now..

  • @bayinghound666 I did eat dinner and I've felt somewhat okay since then. I'm really worried.. I dont know if diabetes runs in our family.. I'm not sure my father will take me to a doctor because money is so tight. Does anyone know for sure that I have diabetes, or can hypoglycemia happen to anyone?

  • One thing I have always found very odd about low blood sugar is the small rushes of euphoria. If you have ever had some of the stronger pain killers it is similar to the warm/happy feeling you get, not that the small burst of euphoria help the situation... The first feeling I get when a low starts is a little rush of euphoria, which fades almost as quick as it comes, then severe paranoia/fear, cold sweats, foggy mind, tired, and then everything feels really fake or 'alien' to me.

  • I remember that when i arrived at the hospital, i got a lot of texts saying "What happened" and "Are you okay", and when i tried to answer, i wrote weird shit that didn't make sence at all. Also, i had to tell a nurse what i ate for lunch, and it took me about 10 minutes to say "Bread and banana".

  • I had this really weird experince 2 years ago in school.. The whole lunch break i didn't say a word, and i felt weird. In math class i just started crying, and i realized that i couldn't say anything but 'yes'. After trying to explain to my teachers, that my blood sugar was low, wich was not easy, since i couldn't say anything, they calles my mum, and she called an ambulance after a while. In the ambulance i felt alright again, and i could talk a bit, but it was still hard (CONT)

  • Sometimes it's like i have black spots for my eyes, and i get angry and very easy to tears.. i also get confused and pale... it's actually very hard to explain how you feel.

  • Thanks for sharing. The subjective experience of these physical states is important to discuss.

  • I would agree with that painfull hunger feeling, sweats, confusion, and the jitters but I would also like to add numbness to my list. Normaly I am a wimp when It comes to taking my blood sugar but when im low I cant feel the prick. I almost cant even feel myself holding the meter.

  • @Matriculon And if you are low you need a boost of sugar to get you back to normal (eg sugar tablets, sugary drinks etc) and then carbohydrates to keep you stable until your next meal. So I guess drinking coke would help, but not like crazy ;) just until you felt back to normal :)

  • @Matriculon Its not good to be either, but personally it is better if you are high, because it can get a lot more serious when you are low. Take some of the examples in this video, if you are seriously low, you can't really control what you are doing at all and you could end up unconscious :P hope that helped

  • So ... what's worse? Low or high blood sugar?? And what do you do when your blood sugar gets too low? Start drinking Coke like crazy? Sry for my stupid questions but for some reason I just wanna know

  • @Matriculon i would have to agree with @Matriculon and say low for the same reasons, and also because it just feels worse. When it's low i usually drink a glass of milk or a juice box, and sometimes eat bread to make it stay normal :).

  • I think it must be a subjective experience, as I don't get the fear feeling and rarely get the massive hunger. I also don't get sweaty - just spacey, out of it, confused, can't connect my thoughts, irritable.

  • Thank you for the very good description. I wonder if you ever have the fear turn into anger or rage. I am interested in trying to explain how adrenalin junkies using rage for energy, very likely could have hypoglycemia, and therefore, in linking that, can start to manage their energy levels so that they don't have to use anger for energy....

  • @Tygrew yeah, i was a little nervous. the tough thing is im technichly not diabetic. I'm hypoglycemic so im not insulin dependent. The only way to manage it is to count carbs and check your sugar. Theres not much info about this out there so im trying to collect as much as i can about low blood sugar here...

  • Is it possible to get low blood sugar only a 1/2 hour after u eat. Cause it's happened to me at color guard rehearsals to the point where I couldn't stand. But I ate a half hour before my episode. I'm so confused!! :/

  • @JBFanBand Were you nervous? Maybe to much insulin? I think something similar has happend to me...But I can recommend you to test "Extend Bar", it keeps your blood sugar balanced for some hours without any need for insulin.

  • mostly yess!!!

  • true, i havent been diagnosed with it but iknow how it feels to have low blood sugar.

idk how to deal with it... im gonna have to get magnesium supplements :/

  • im the same but i want to eat the most filling thing in the fridge. mostly chicken or something big... . fuck i think i have low blood sugar.... does that mean i have diabeties?

  • I feel the exact same, and I also talk really fast.

  • When I get low blood sugar, I crave orange juice like a vampire craves blood.

  • Ive been a type 1 diabetic since age 8 - Ive had SEVERAL lows - all of the things you said in this video ring very true for me but add being ridiculously combative & talking in gibberish or not being able to say what youre thinking (think of how someone acts when theyre WAY too drunk). Ive lost jobs, been asked to leave restaurants, friends & scared people having lows - Thank you for posting these videos they really help explain what its like for us

  • Your description was right on... I was fired for going across the street to a restaurant by my employer because I began to feel hypoglycemic and could only think of food and had to get food fast...shaking and feeling week at the knee`s..plus was sweating and trembling too. Well my boss terminated me for leaving the "Hospital" grounds. Been a Type 2 for 7 yrs.

  • Your description was right on... • i get the same exact feelings! ive tried explaining this to my fiance and he just looks as me like im insane im sure he cant possibly understand but thank you for making this video :)

  • I don't get the first two symptoms you described, I mostly feel like... Shaking.... Dizzy.

  • I dont have diabetes or at least not that I know off. Yesterday I did not eat all too much and I defiently had that hunger feeling. But then out of no where this strange intense almost euphoric feeling came over me for about 10 seconds and faded into anxeity and my hands where shaking and I got quite cold. I felt the need to keep moving. My feets started feeling a bit numb as well as my legs started to get weak. Do any of you guys out there with diabetes get this feeling or ever had it??

  • I am a type II diabetic and have been for about 10 years. I just found your videos. Your low video is good. I don't think I have gotten quite as low as you, but I think one of my lowest was a 60 and my legs felt like rubber and started going places I didn't tell them to go. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Had me scared until I figured it out.

  • Bro thank you... I to am a biabetic and it happend to me for the first time today and I did not have an idea what was going on. The way you sed you felt is just the way I felt. when my sugar levels droped.

  • Hi! This time last year I found out I was diabetic. Last low I had was a 2.7, you might measure your blood sugar differently, but for a brief explanation, between 4 and 6 is safe. I've never felt so scared and anxious, I didn't know whether to walk and get my tablets or lay on the couch. Unfortunately I had miscalculated how much insulin to take.

  • Also FYI if your blood sugar goes low too often you may experience renal failure. "kidneys start shutting down" it is dangerous to have low blood sugar. Another thing is when you are diabetic and have had a high blood sugar for a long time and you start adjusting and bringing that sugar down you will experience these symptoms because your body can't adjust that fast. it is an insulin shock. it can actually go low after that so check your sugar levels often to make sure. the poster is acurate

  • @voogun yeah when I first got diagnosed with diabetes (type 1) my blood was high for so long I had an unquenchable thirst I went through water bottles like nothing

  • Hi, Nice video, and cool channel! I'm gonna subscribe right after typing this. I agree with all three things that you mentioned........ I however have a different sign that you didnt mention which is ALWAYS the first sign of my sugar getting low............ The back of my head starts tingling. For some reason, and luckily, I always get this sensation when my sugar gets around 70. Then if i dont correct it quick, I start getting all three of the sensations that you mentioned.

  • @grayhounddogg402 yeah I get tingly all over and my mouth goes numb. also my legs don't work right. muscle motor function takes a serious hit. I cannot think I get Majorly disorientated, lose track of everything and my primary one and only forcing metaphysical drive is to find sugar immediately. because my body is telling me that it is shutting down. if I don't get sugar fast I will pass out. I have had blood Glucose readings after accidentally overdosing that were 22 and 41. one was 17

  • is it ture drink more water is good for you

  • @freddy14210 I notice that if I am well hydrated I do not notice these symptoms as much especially as I mentioned above when I had had a high glucose for a long time and then started coming down. the more water I drank the better I felt. it made me sleep a lot though. and I was physically sick a lot during that adjustment period.

  • Wow, you did a great job. i always have trouble explaining this feeling to people, now i'll just show them your video!

  • You did a great job of explaining what it feels like to have low blood sugar:-)

  • hey there,

as part of a task at school me and a mate of mine have give a talk on a serious health concern to the juniors. it has to include a physical activity to maybe get them all involved, and your video has given me some great ideas on what to do with them

    thanks!

  • arrghh... what i should have said was "You're" not "Your".

  • Your a good man for putting this up, all the best to you :)

  • amen man!

  • WOW,same here but i don`t get sweaty.

But i hate the fear factor that comes with it.Diabetis fucking sucks and i hope they find a cure,i`m type 2 non insulin vie diet control, but it still suck even worse when you wake up with a constant thurst for water aswell. 2-3AM you just want cold water so bad that it wakes you up,then your up till 6AM pissing like a camel..trust me bro i know.

  • I feel the exact same except without feeling any kind of fear?... I started getting it 4 years ago after I had the gastric bypass surgery

  • @rozzalenda123 in me I used to have fear when it was the first few times that it happened, but after that I knew what was happening, recognized the symptoms and just bolted for the fridge. Did you know that Sugar in a liquid form will absorbed into your system faster than a solid sugar. because the solid has to be digested, but the liquid can be immediately taken up into your bloodstream..!!

  • @redyoshi1985 Orange juice or apple juice is the first thing i go for. usually a small cup will do the trick

  • Forme a low Blood sugar starts like a small trembling in the pit of my stomach and if I'm not paying much attention or really on the ball, it grows really quickly and wells up shaking my body from the inside out-right down to my hands and feet.

Sometimes there's little or no warning and being overcome by such incredible weakness that you cant keep your legs under you is really scary.I have been mistaken for being drunk once while out and most people would just let you lie there rather than help

  • i'm having a hypo now!!

ps. i am eating right now

  • lol nailed it i will add bitchy !

  • I know you said toward non-diabetic, but when I get lows I don't at all get hungry, I usually don't want to eat at all which makes it really tough! Does any other diabetics have a problem with stomach pain after a low??

  • @treesofmarble some people with diabetes get a "low Hangover" as some say. Were you body in recovering from a low episode and you feel drained and tired.

I hate when I am low and my stomach is full... nothing like having to drink more juice when you have a hard time getting it to go down.... blah

  • @treesofmarble Actually I start starving as well, but it comes seconds after other symptoms (so usually not my leading indicator). It does suck to stop yourself from over-eating when as 1happydiabetic said - if feels like you haven't eaten for couple days.

  • @abbygabby2000 :( too bad, i probably got low sugar today in school 1st time :( headache, swetty and shaky and hungry :(

  • :( Today i got low sugar or sumthing my hungry was so badly and :((( huhuhuhuhuyhyhyyhyhhy yeah. i got headache and i was swetty! YES SHAKY!

  • EXACTLY

  • The weird thing is when i come out of my Low bloods I feel super Hyperactive and cant keep still and feel really happy, i suppose its that 'from one extreme to the next' type of deal, from low bloods to higher bloods!? also suffer immense headaches once back in the land of normality aswell! x

  • @MrHandyHandrew interesting, I get a little jolt of energy too when I get a low.

  • its like being a sweaty drunk, i dont usually remember anything, i seem to miss the hunger part, but if you didnt know, you would think i was rude drunk person.....

  • Hi ! Love the idea!! I also get that really cold horrible feeling where I feel Like I am shaking and shivering from within, and that headrush feeling also hits me, I remember getting a low #of 14 when I was preg, the dr was changing my insulin doses my #s were all over the place even if my diet/exercise after dinner were consistent-I also at times would experiance a nauseous feeling, a passing out feeling coming over me, & as the #s go back to Normal, I could feel me warming up & stop shaking.

  • I hallucinate. I see ameobas and blobs of light...does anyone else?

  • @Deltaspeed93 this could be somethin going on in your eyes. Lows can trigger bleeds if you have any retinopathy, and those flashers and floaters in your eyes might be early warning signals to go see your retina guy!!! I am the VOICE of experience sadly on this one.....

  • i get the shakes really bad, cold sweat, can't concentrate and nausea... its a fun time, let me tell ya... lol

  • I have hypoglycemia, you explain it SO well!!! I hate the feeling and when I'm in a store or whatever I just freak out and start hyperventilating because I feel so bad... :')

  • No hunger here....but it feels like death. hate it. it is hell. like the soul is leaving without permission. wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. Sweat, floating and loss of concentration. The worst part is coming back up....feels like a 3 day hangover. sucks. diabetes sucks. sick of it. type I sucks ass.

  • My leg starts shaking when i go low. I can barely move.

  • The feeling freaks me out

  • It's like a surreal feeling like you don't feel like you're there and then somebody does something and it kind of wakes you up a little. I don't have diabetes but my Mom does and I sometimes get lows.

  • To all of you people who have diabetes keep on fighting the fight. I am not a diabetic but my grandmother who just turned 86 has had type 1 diabetes for over 40 years and she's still quite alive and kickin and doing great. Don't let it deter you and scare you into thinking it will cut your life short by 20 or more years like you hear sometimes on the internet and news. Nice video and best wishes!

  • I like your videos! I'm a 35 yr old type 1 and my husband is a 37 year old type 1 who suffers from hypoglycemia unawearness. Just wanted to let you know that we think that your videos are awesome!

  • Yeah what this guys is saying is about right, but..& I'm sure most diabetics out there will agree with me that for the first few mins at the beginning of a hypo..you just know your about to have one, every before the symptoms start to show! For me, i just suddenly become aware of the beginnings of a hypo, in my mind & i have about 3-4 min to get something to eat before i start to sweat, get dizzy, become agressive & flake out! lol

  • Awesome explanation.. It feels the worst waking up low at night though :(

  • when i have low sugar i feel shaking arms no thinking stomach hurts

  • i cant control my body when im low i slowly fall

  • The worst low I've ever had was when I had just moved out of home. My sugar got so low I was completely incoherent. I woke up in the middle of the night. I had recently moved out of home, and managed to, with sheer willpower, dial a cordless phone calling my parents, and give it to my roomate. Those few minutes required more strength than anything in my life. My parents instructed him what to do. I ended up in the hospital. I couldn't talk normally until mid-day the next day.

  • I've had all kinds of lows. I get most commonly this strange sensation rising up within me, almost like the sensation you get when an elevator going up stops. I've found that my emotions, whatever they may be, get way stronger. If I happy, I get giddy, grouchy, I get angry. My vision gets funny/blurry, like water on a lens, in spots, like I'm seeing stars. Then things start getting shakey, and cold sweats begin to develop. My body thankfully gives me a good warning I'm going low.

  • Hi! I have diabetes, I think you described very well how it feels to be low. I like your video but it is a bit hard for me to follow everything you say cause you talk fast. I am Swedish. [translated by my father].

  • Great explaination! I've also had my lips go numb and been a tinglely in my face. My lowest ever is 23 when I started falling into stuff as if I was drunk. Got to be careful with those activities of high exertion

  • Oh god I hate when I'm low and I get all hungry... also, if you ever play video games while feeling low, IT SUCKS! Same with a high.

  • Well, everything you have said word for word happens to me. It has been happening since I was 12. I also have Acanthosis Nigricans. I have gone to a doctor but they took my blood and said I was ok and blamed me being a little overweight. Should I push for my testing? Is having low blood sugar dangerous?

  • WOW!! Thanks for sharing!! This is soooo how I feel when that happens. I have Type 1 and it is so good to know other people have the same issues as myself. :o)

  • i have ype one diabetes, my sypmtoms are

    jitters/anxious

    "high" behavior

    hungery

    sometimes a headache

  • exactly how it feels.

  • This was a good vid. I just got home it is 3:15 pm and my bg is 12 and I have those same feelings, the head rush, that fear feeling. Just waiting for 15 min to past to test my bg again. But I have different levels of lows like now with this low I also have shaky feeling, tingly feeling in my legs, starting to feel a little confused (this sucks). My lows are scary especially when I'm home alone like now.

    Great vid.

  • If you've read my comment on the other video i've felt like this before too....very scary any advice please????

  • i hav diabetes too! and thats exactly how it feels wen i go low...i've never been able to put that "fear feeling" into words but i guess i do now! thanks for the vid. makes me feel a little better that im not as alone in this as i thought i was :)

  • My blood sugar can be 25 and still function like a normal human being. How is this possible?

  • @vicarious7777 dang what was your lowest without passing out mine is 21

  • @ninjaonpot1 even when I first turned diabetic 14yrs ago I could have a 15 blood sugars and start acting crazy, but I've had lows that say lo on the monitor and can't read it. Glad I'm not the only 1. Blood sugars below 40 cause brain damage. Well that's what the doctors say. And I don't condone people trying to do this. My mind is out there. Basically I've had a zero and didn't start convulting.

  • @vicarious7777 My blood sugar level is in the 30s. I didn't eat before they took the blood work. I just found out yesterday, and the doctor said I should eat on time, don't skip meals. I'm kinda worry because most of the time, I feel normal and I don't think I have diabetes.

  • @tung2sai Are you diabetic? Sounds like hypoglycemia. I'm type 1

  • @vicarious7777 I don't think so. My glucose levels have never been very high from the blood tests I've done before. But I am very overweight.

  • omg am i diabetic! i get those same feelings. even now my hands are shaking so hard its hard to type. i feel like im on fire im so hot.... its february. i have to turn on my air conditioner. wierd i know. thanx im gonna figure this out. you might of saved my life lol!

  • Thank you.

    Very educational.

  • i was at school and i didnt have a snack. i went 2 get a coke and it went lower, and i ran into the wall and passed out. my blood sugar was 29.

  • feels pretty much the same as you described. I get very very tired, almost weepy (can burst into tears at any moment) and also very jerky. Like I will try to put the strip in the meter, but I just can't get my fingers to function.

And yes, the fear is almost overwhelming sometimes. The pit in your stomach just drops out and you feel like you're going down a roller coaster ride that you didnt' agree to go on.

  • i don't have diabetes but i had hypoglycemia and thats kind of like that

  • Yes, that is the feeling I am talking about. Low low BG feeling

  • how bout sugar cravings?

  • Do I have them? Is that what you mean

  • yes

  • It kinda feels to me, like im pale, and when i move im being supported by strings, like a puppet, cause i feel very pale and weak, and i shake. And Hungry 0-o

  • "Strings on a Puppet"

I like that alot. That is a great way to word it.

  • yep... that's how i feel too

  • Thanks for commenting, sorry for the long overdue response... That's pretty neat we feel the same way. I felt alot better when I knew other people felt like that too.

  • my lowest was 25, and i was just checking it before lunch! i didn't even know it was low! haha but i am positive it was low because i checked with several meters and washed my hands and everything

  • Wow, that's low. I think we I get like that I can't even test, I am like trying to find stuff to put in my mouth. Scary kinda. I don't like the lows. I don't think anyone does.

  • Its the morst horrifing thing that i have ever experienced.

    And it happens everyday. :(

  • im not diabetic. but when i get hungry and i dont eat i get real shaky and hot and my head is all dizzy. sometimes i collapse. what are the foods i could eat to boost it real fast?

  • the lowest i've ever been is 27.... when i get that low i usually stay pretty normal at most i will get a similar feeling to the head rush and always get the extreme hunger . i feel really cold all over my body when i start to get low ... i know its not good but i kind of like the feeling of a low for some reason and i have alot of energy also ... is that weird????

  • My lowest was 16 and I ate and ate because I was so scared and 20 mins later I checked and it was 378...so dont freak like me

  • my lowest was 1.1 recorded... but i did faint once....at diabetic camp

  • Oh my. Yeah I've done that too! Over treat a low then your are through the roof for the rest of the day.

  • That is a great description. I feel the same way. My blood sugar doesn't go low often though, so when it does, I really feel it. It sucks. Have you ever had a blood sugar below 20 before?

  • Below 20, not that I can remember. Someone might have checked me at that level.

That low I am pretty out of it.

  • I get really really confused if I am really low. I don't feel hunger...wish i did to help me figure it out. I just never know what the heck is going on.

  • I get confused as well.

  • I was at my part time job last night (food delivery). I had three deliveries in a row, and midway thru i knew I was in trouble.. I had no snacks or water in my car, so I was shaky, felt heavy, and slightly confused and lightheaded,a wobbly feeling. SCARY while driving. I even asked one of the customers if I could have a cup of water! After the second delivery I rushed to a food mart and got snacks and Gatorade, and I was good from there. I haven't been diagnosed T2D but I'll be tested soon!

  • Good explanation. Also when my sugar gets below 50 all lights have a bit of a halo effect. It also feel a bit of out of body sometimes. But when you're really low it's just that feeling of knowing that if you do nothing then you will die. And sometimes I'm tired enough that I think "I can get back to sleep for just a few seconds. Then I'll eat something."

  • Sorry for the long delay in writting back.

I wanted to let you know,,, I DO the same thing. Is that not wierd? I tell myself, just lay back down... you can get to the fridge in 5 minutes. I am "out of it" when I am telling myself that. Low Low for me.

  • My mother and I have always figured I had some problems with hypoglycemia. Clammy hands, shakiness, disorientation, exhaustion. My worst symptoms are irritability, anger, and loss of focus and concentration, and this is everyday, before every meal. Bad thing is that I can't diagnose myself and a doctor hasn't checked my glucose levels since I was a child. It's been getting worse over the years too. So, I'm beginning to relate... sadly enough.

  • My 3 year old daughter is a type 1 diabetic(she was diagnosed at 19 months), and the fear you mentioned I've seen in her, unfortunately more than once. The most recent was On may 3rd when we had to call 911. the screaming and shaking, was terrifying, but the fear in her eyes was heartbraking. Thanks for making this, as a mom to a little girl who can't explain how she feels it's kinda interesting to hear others explain.

  • That must be very scary for you. I am sorry for that. I did this video for you in away. I was chatting in a Diabetes chatroom with parents of Diabetics. They discussed living with a Type 1 toddler and not being able to talk and tell them they are low. Lows become "Looks" with toddlers. I wanted to help parents like you know how a low feels. That is what actually got me going, on making this video. I did the video as if I was talking to a close friend or my wife.

  • whenever i'm low i always get shaky and talk weird and i got diagnosed almost a year ago and i'm only 12 so it does suck but the vid is good!

  • I get shaky too. I should have added that in with the video. My lows have different levels. LOW LOW feels different then when I am starting to get low. You get me? I know you do. When I am LOW LOW I bet I am shaky but I don't feel skay. I am not focusing on that symptom at that time.

Thanks so much for your comment.

  • Nice vid, I think I am going low whle watching this vid. Better get out the glucose tabs!

  • Maybe I'm strange, but I haven't been diagnosed with Diabetes, but have had many hypoglycemic episodes. I've even seizured and passed out in the hospital 3 years ago. They tested my glucose and it was low. What else can cause hypoglycemic attacks without having diabetes? I just had an episode today at my doctors office after blood was drawn. Severe sweating, confusion, nausea and just a plain feeling of falling off of a roof. So somehow yes, I feel your pain.

  • My wife has lows too. She gets the same type of feeling so she helps me with her knowledge too. Thanks for commenting and sharing your experiences, it helps everyone!

  • i feel your pain bro im a type 1 diabetic im 13 and i got it when i was 7 it sucks not having sugar but wen im low im real shakey in my legs

  • I hear ya... it sucks. I agree. So then what? I can't say I am over the sucking part of diabetes, or that I every will be, but I do the best i can. I think that is the key, do the best you can, whatever that is. it's a choice to be on a meal plan and work close with your MDs... so what do you have to give up to do that. IT's a give and take game. I do it with a smile and I really think that helps. Thanks for the comment. LOWS SUCK. lol

  • I get those feelings too, been diabetic for 20 years (type 1), now I have heart trouble and terrible aching legs.......I have 2 close male relatives that have died with heart attacks. Diabetes sucks I'm sick of it and I'm sure it will get me in the end......it's just a slow way to go.

  • it's uncontrolled diabetes, not diabetes that will get you. If i drove my car scared of a crash everyday, that wouldn't be a way to live. I feel you. I understand how it can feel at times, I mean why do I have to deal with this? But I am glad too that I was born healthy too. Don't throw your cards away just yet, you might have a winning hand.

  • Im a diabetic too, and my low blood sugar feeling change the lower i am. for example if im in the 2 range, my legs go numb, im shaky, confused and i just load up
