@elusive323 if you see one its a good idea to do some research, aircraft radar from the local airport is only kept a few days, also the local weather researchers can give you info about balloons released in the area, then you have good research to back the sighting.
Great video. During Feb 1998 around midday, I, along with a few others, witnessed an identical situation. The weather conditions were identical. We watched two objects for over an hour at high altitude hovering and then darting around at high speed. Our location was Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Sorry no photos/vid. I follow stuff like this with keen interest, however due to the consistant filght path and speed its likely to be an plane, space station, or shuttle. Next time you see something like this it may pay to check the Nasa website for Space Stations location. I have seen the Space Shuttle at night travelling at a reliative speed and brighter than anything in the sky, some people would claim a UFO sighting , which is correct. However I had identified my observation. Just a thought.

as much as i want to believe - its more than likely a bird - the pulsing movement is its wings flapping, its reflecting the sun. Ive seen flocks of birds resemble ufos like this many times. its a seagull floating on a wind current i reckon

Hi we get them up north always! 20x80 magnification do the math and I can place them between 25 000- 30 000 thousand feet, 30km! They have to be huge! Airliners travel 30 000 feet, and easy to see with a good set of binoculars! and they look quite small way up there, theys little liver eggs are much higher! more than twice the dictance! Atleast up here its the case! I have even had my friends speachless when they get a look up close.
Sorry about my spelling!!! They seem to have a black line running around the middle, or somthing like that. These are not the clasic triangle or disk I am seeing, these are more round slightly eggs shape! If you get the chance to see them up closer you can see they are silky smooth and silver, like they have be polished.
actually the black line may be a distortion of the digital zoom, so it is likely they are white or silver, also late in the clip the object tumbles and flashes very black with no white showing a couple times. I will post some stills soon.
In early 2008 I could study them for months on a daily basis ( > 1000 HQ 300mm tele pictures) on the North Island. I've asked all kinds of media people and even the department of Helen Clark to study my HQ pictures, but they don't care. Really stupid those TV documentary makers. It makes one think about what they do decide to investigate and show on TV: violence and wild sensation.
Hi im from NZ too :) Nice to see some UFO footage from NZ. Was there an aeroplane in the sky at one point? Because you can clearly hear one. What year was this taken? And did you ring the Airlines? You can find out if any craft are over your area. Ive only seen one thing which was odd, a light in the sky at twilight that was moving along and kept changing direction. Thanks for uploading.
The aeroplane you can hear was captured for a few frames around 2:50 and is flying in the direction towards the second craft from the airport, I called a guy I knew who worked at air control but he never got back to me about it, so I let it go until releasing it on youtube un-edited 6 months ago, filmed in 2002, I have also seen other obects at night and day in NZ and OZ. Keep looking up with an open mind.
i too live in christchurch and have seen similar objects. whether they are manmade or extraterrestrial can be debated, but they are NOT weather balloons, seagulls, or swamp gas.
have a photo taken in hanmer and from top of redcliffs with discs in them.
there were several compelling sightings documented countrywide back in the 1970s, including the "kaikoura lights" in 1978, which appeared on air traffic control's radar in wellington.

this was filmed about 11 am around august 2002 from Galbraith ave in Avonside, chch. In all those years I have looked at this very closely, frame by frame, If you do the same you will conclude it is not a balloon.
Thanks, after watching this clip possibly hundreds of times and frame by frame to look for a clear feature to identify shape or movement, I have found some very strange sequences that would not fit the 'space shuttle drop off or something', though its my favourite so far.
you cant hear a seagull flying at 12km away on a crappy video camera dude. Have a few more looks then see what you think, I have more info I will post soon about the video analysis.
its easy to track the 2nd object across the sky shots and see it travels at least 3 km in 2 minutes, making the speed at least 90km/hr. The clouds were likely Cirrus uncinus or Cirrus floccus about 6km up.Gulls travel 50km/hr max when chased, unlikely fly that high.

thats correct, there was 2 objects, the second object( from 2.5 minutes) was tumbling while the original remained in the distance. it is easy to see the movement when it is passing through the clouds, check the slow motion version I posted also. thanks for comment.
Here is the strange part, While I was hiking up Mt. Diablo I broke through some trees to the top of a ridge, when I looked to the other ridge I could see a extreamly shinny metalic object sitting on the ground. The top part was shifting as if turning its head back and forth. I could see what looked like a small dark lens. I wistled at it and whe I did
that it snapped in my direction and stopped moving. I got the sinking feeling I was being watched very intently, mad the hair stand up.
I was Hiking up Mt. Diadlo in California this Feb and have seen the same shape like a drop of murcury flashing. Moving all over then stop. then started tumbling fast then slowed
then level its self. When it blinked out you could see the shape burnt in the sky. I have a witness also.
yeah, i see what your saying about second object, but we also have 2 + or - the cameras ability to capture the object. good point on the aztecs/mayans, refreshing. i took a class, on miguel leon-portilla's "aztec thought and culture" & although he does not mention ufo's, the description of crafts, events, perception, and space & time (or lack of) according to portilla is quite convincing that something is right around the corner.
satellites I have seen dont move about like this one in the last 2 minutes, I agree that its possible though, did you notice the way it moves though, at the time it really looked like it was moving dramatically, would it be visible in the clouds if it was a sat? do sats tumble, I cant understand how they would work if they tumbled so fast
yes they do, but this was very large to be able to seen so high, maybe weather balloon?
yet it moved through the clouds against the flow of the clouds, it was a very still and calm day yet it behaved as if forcefully moving opposite to what would be expected of a balloon in clouds, very worthwhile comment thankyou.
The clouds are substaintially higher than the balloon in the background and the balloon is actually rising. It's a bit of an illusion with camera's zoom. Go get one of those silver party balloons and try it. :)

Got it. :) Which direction was it heading? I can also see it is spinning violently. I would hate to be in it if it could hold a person. lol. It really doesn't look like a weather balloon though. I still think it's man made garbage or something. Doesn't look like it's under any kind of control. Otherwise not sure exactly what it is.
if its manmade it must be very light to stay airborne, unlikely to be a person inside unless experimental antigravity craft, if it is rubbish it seems unusual that 2 seperate objects were at similar height yet maybe 20km apart and one tumbling the other almost stationary, unlikely rubbbish would behave like that through the clouds, space junk would burn up or fall down, I have seen area 51 footage with similar movements, thankyou for your help to understand what I filmed.
thats a satellite, yup. most of the time you can only see them at night, but under the right conditions they're visible during the day and they tend to pulse as they get closer to the western horizon. nothing out of the ordinary.
Thanks for the feedback, the 2nd one which was pulsing was directly above us very far from the horizon as you suggested, using eyes at the time it didnt look like a satellite, seems unlikely but possible
I thought it may have been rubbish also, then how did it get up so high? how come it is moving through the clouds in the opposite direction to them, how can it dissappear and reappear in 1/25 of a second and how come the first one which was stationary didnt act the same way? also it mustve been large as it was easy to see so high up.Thankyou for the feedback
2 high 2 be rubbish, & in the video it looks like its going in a straight direction. there is also the possibility of a high altitude balloon, as mentioned. remember theres the meso,strato, & troposhere, all with there own wind speed & direction, meso being highest & fastest with speeds reaching up 2 200 knots. developers have recently been trying 2 harness that pwr. the Japanese tried 2 use it 2 deliver bombs over the US during the war. can't wait to see something that can't be ruled out.

just a natural optical illusion, these clouds at the lower troposhere layers can also reflect and bend light giving that passing through them vs passing over them, or even the "now you see and now you dont," properties, the object is at a higher strato or meso level. Have you seen the recent serpent like ufo footage from mexico? Now thats near impossible to disprove, if possible!! could have influenced the ancient aztecs/myans in their beliefs. check it out a let me know what your think.
just regarding the 'now you see it now you dont' properties, why does the first object not do that and when the second one does dissapear for the occasional frame, kind of blinking, it isnt always in or near the clouds that may bend or reflect the light. The more I look at it the more I struggle for a logical reason, thankyou for your comments and ideas.
I challenge anyone who doesn't believe in ufos to look to the skies more often. I was a non believer but ever since i'v seen them myself I realized how bad we have been lied to.

i too live in christchurch and have seen similar objects. whether they are manmade or extraterrestrial can be debated, but they are NOT weather balloons, seagulls, or swamp gas.
have a photo taken in hanmer and from top of redcliffs with discs in them.
there were several compelling sightings documented countrywide back in the 1970s, including the "kaikoura lights" in 1978, which appeared on air traffic control's radar in wellington.

did you know that ufos are just a man made myth and don't exsist, infact if it was a ufo don't you think it would of fallin by now seeing as it has stayed in 1 spot, remember we have gravity on earth and commensence in our heads

yes I have heard that, did you know that statistics have shown that the more educated a person the more likely they will believe in ufo's and there is a possibility of things we do not yet know or understand.

this was filmed about 11 am around august 2002 from Galbraith ave in Avonside, chch. In all those years I have looked at this very closely, frame by frame, If you do the same you will conclude it is not a balloon.

Thanks, after watching this clip possibly hundreds of times and frame by frame to look for a clear feature to identify shape or movement, I have found some very strange sequences that would not fit the 'space shuttle drop off or something', though its my favourite so far.

you cant hear a seagull flying at 12km away on a crappy video camera dude. Have a few more looks then see what you think, I have more info I will post soon about the video analysis.

its easy to track the 2nd object across the sky shots and see it travels at least 3 km in 2 minutes, making the speed at least 90km/hr. The clouds were likely Cirrus uncinus or Cirrus floccus about 6km up.Gulls travel 50km/hr max when chased, unlikely fly that high.

great vid, def looks and acts like something other than trash, balloon or the like. I believe i saw a ufo up close on the Waiohine Gorge (in the middle of no where) late at nite with my friend as we drove through.
I first thought it was a light party but commonsense says otherwise. Especially when there is no tracks or roads on this hill to where this thing was and it was wet, and during a weeknight. Pretty wicked colours too, purple and greens.

The camera is being held very still, you can see the object displace of slide to the side.
It is doing thing that the camera cant catch.

It wasnt tumbling in the beggining it was flat

thats correct, there was 2 objects, the second object( from 2.5 minutes) was tumbling while the original remained in the distance. it is easy to see the movement when it is passing through the clouds, check the slow motion version I posted also. thanks for comment.

Here is the strange part, While I was hiking up Mt. Diablo I broke through some trees to the top of a ridge, when I looked to the other ridge I could see a extreamly shinny metalic object sitting on the ground. The top part was shifting as if turning its head back and forth. I could see what looked like a small dark lens. I wistled at it and whe I did
that it snapped in my direction and stopped moving. I got the sinking feeling I was being watched very intently, mad the hair stand up.

I was Hiking up Mt. Diadlo in California this Feb and have seen the same shape like a drop of murcury flashing. Moving all over then stop. then started tumbling fast then slowed
then level its self. When it blinked out you could see the shape burnt in the sky. I have a witness also.

yeah, i see what your saying about second object, but we also have 2 + or - the cameras ability to capture the object. good point on the aztecs/mayans, refreshing. i took a class, on miguel leon-portilla's "aztec thought and culture" & although he does not mention ufo's, the description of crafts, events, perception, and space & time (or lack of) according to portilla is quite convincing that something is right around the corner.

I am sure that when the 2nd object seems to split in two in the last few seconds, that is caused by the camera shake as I turn it off.

satellites I have seen dont move about like this one in the last 2 minutes, I agree that its possible though, did you notice the way it moves though, at the time it really looked like it was moving dramatically, would it be visible in the clouds if it was a sat? do sats tumble, I cant understand how they would work if they tumbled so fast

yes they do, but this was very large to be able to seen so high, maybe weather balloon?
yet it moved through the clouds against the flow of the clouds, it was a very still and calm day yet it behaved as if forcefully moving opposite to what would be expected of a balloon in clouds, very worthwhile comment thankyou.

The clouds are substaintially higher than the balloon in the background and the balloon is actually rising. It's a bit of an illusion with camera's zoom. Go get one of those silver party balloons and try it. :)

sorry mate, it was definately not rising, it was moving past us, I was lying on my back pointing almost straight up, did you look at the last 2 minutes? it is definately not a kids party balloon :-)

Got it. :) Which direction was it heading? I can also see it is spinning violently. I would hate to be in it if it could hold a person. lol. It really doesn't look like a weather balloon though. I still think it's man made garbage or something. Doesn't look like it's under any kind of control. Otherwise not sure exactly what it is.

if its manmade it must be very light to stay airborne, unlikely to be a person inside unless experimental antigravity craft, if it is rubbish it seems unusual that 2 seperate objects were at similar height yet maybe 20km apart and one tumbling the other almost stationary, unlikely rubbbish would behave like that through the clouds, space junk would burn up or fall down, I have seen area 51 footage with similar movements, thankyou for your help to understand what I filmed.

thats a satellite, yup. most of the time you can only see them at night, but under the right conditions they're visible during the day and they tend to pulse as they get closer to the western horizon. nothing out of the ordinary.

Thanks for the feedback, the 2nd one which was pulsing was directly above us very far from the horizon as you suggested, using eyes at the time it didnt look like a satellite, seems unlikely but possible

I thought it may have been rubbish also, then how did it get up so high? how come it is moving through the clouds in the opposite direction to them, how can it dissappear and reappear in 1/25 of a second and how come the first one which was stationary didnt act the same way? also it mustve been large as it was easy to see so high up.Thankyou for the feedback

2 high 2 be rubbish, & in the video it looks like its going in a straight direction. there is also the possibility of a high altitude balloon, as mentioned. remember theres the meso,strato, & troposhere, all with there own wind speed & direction, meso being highest & fastest with speeds reaching up 2 200 knots. developers have recently been trying 2 harness that pwr. the Japanese tried 2 use it 2 deliver bombs over the US during the war. can't wait to see something that can't be ruled out.

strangely though it seems to be actually passing through the clouds, if it was caught in a wind on a different layer how come the clouds it passed through were not affected also?

just a natural optical illusion, these clouds at the lower troposhere layers can also reflect and bend light giving that passing through them vs passing over them, or even the "now you see and now you dont," properties, the object is at a higher strato or meso level. Have you seen the recent serpent like ufo footage from mexico? Now thats near impossible to disprove, if possible!! could have influenced the ancient aztecs/myans in their beliefs. check it out a let me know what your think.

just regarding the 'now you see it now you dont' properties, why does the first object not do that and when the second one does dissapear for the occasional frame, kind of blinking, it isnt always in or near the clouds that may bend or reflect the light. The more I look at it the more I struggle for a logical reason, thankyou for your comments and ideas.

I challenge anyone who doesn't believe in ufos to look to the skies more often. I was a non believer but ever since i'v seen them myself I realized how bad we have been lied to.
