@yamahonkawazuki you realize that Obama has no control over General Motors or The Ford Motor Company and their plant relocation decisions, right? The USA has what is known as a free market system.
@learningrichard "you realize that Obama has no control over General Motors or The Ford Motor Company and their plant relocation decisions, right? The USA has what is known as a free market system.

You mean that bastard, Obama, gave these companies OUR tax money with no strings attached?!! What a dumb $hit!!! Gotta love those low IQ Obama voters like you, apparently. True free market systems lets bad companies fail, withot bailing them out!!!
If anybody is interested, the red hotrod in the slideshow at 0:35 is the real model A with a Lincoln motor, owned by Charley Ryan who wrote the song & first recorded it. And that's him with the car.
@playterraria2 Don't understand your question "why do you think he said model A?" He said model A for two reasons. For one, he had a model A. And most importantly, the song is a response to the song "Hotrod race" which says model A.
@patrick9648 Doesn't sound like the "original" from 1972?? Try 1955. Non of the versions by the many artists who have covered it sound like the original, including the one from 1972.
@yamahonkawazuki It was San Pedro originally. But that's the least of the changes in the lyrics. Every version by all the many artists who have released the song have made changes.
One of the greatest times I have ever had in my life was seeing Commander Cody and the original Airmen live in a small club. This was back in the '70s. They were so much fun I couldn't believe it. They rocked the house down. They were a really great band and they don't make them like that any more, unfortunately.
I recommend the Pumpkin Run in Owensville, OH. This is in Clermont Co, Ohio in October. If you like classic and hot rods, you will enjoy that car show. There is still an old rod shop there.
My dad called me 11 minutes ago after a long shift at haggens, and it was the normal retarded formalities and a thankless reminder of gardening success and shit like that, and we somehow got to talking about this song. He sung a spoken verse of it, and i was clicking my tongue like a disrespectful 11 year old, because i wanted a shower. But as soon as he talked me into listening to it that ignorance and workwear melted away, and i came to respect my dad and his proffesion a little bit more.
Wow this song still is so bada**! Reminds me of something I heard recently! ;-) I've seen Bill Kirchen perform this live and it is such an infectious song. The end is the best part! Love the lyrics and the entire band plays just a tour de force of virtuosity.
I haven't heard this song since 1973, I was 6, and my dad used to walk around the house signing this song. Had to call him to see if he remembered, he did!
@Ocker3 Charlie Ryan did the original and it is one of the best. CC and his LPA are just awesome as a group with superb musicians all around. We lost Ryan in 2008. Roger Miller's version was kind of lacking, but still its a fun song for anyone to cover.
@Ocker3 It is kind of a mouth full of words to spit out in time to the music. Bond's version was so so for the words and rhythm. Charlie Ryan's was the first to hit vinyl in any big time form, and it is one of the better ones. CC& his LPA are just totally killer great with all their respective instruments forming one exceptionally great band. As for loads of lyrics to spit out during a song, no one has Neal Pert of Rush beat for wordieness. This song is great his stuff is beyond extreme.
I was driving down a gravel road with a few of my buddies when this song came on the radio back in 1962 maybe. I put a little too much pedal to the metal and started fish tailing down a hill and tried braking going into a sharp left curve. Hmm, I didn't quite make it. Down we went off the road into some big trees. Nobody hurt, but the car had a few dents and lost a muffler.
the first version of this song conveyed sense of being real experience, had the proper 12 cylinder mill... and some lines about "goin' round the corner tires on their sides" which is how it was doing that. This band is good but this cover doesn't cover it heheheh
@Unclemikefusny Yup he did. I was in his class in 1993. He'd play with his buds at local bars in Troy, NY at Christmastime and lots of us students would come and watch.
Ye HA Buddies back in the day,we cruised st.geo.Blvd nightly in moms lincoln, was it a hot rod, really dont know, never smokedem, had more respect than that,no if it was a race you were lookin for, there was a 327 bored&stroked 57 4speed posi for that, the only real 8000 rpm car i ever knew,no the valves did not start floatin at 8000rpm,thats when you backed off an slamed the next gear, with no clutch,Hell on drivelines, more than once it cork screwed, untill a solid tempered steel (no tube)
this aint the fucking original people upload the original.
