when i bought my old packard bell pc , the guy at the shop game me a cd with the pc and on it he wrote my pcs name and recovery " imedia 1539 recovery" , the question is i will build a new pc , so when i start pc and put the cd, xp installs or this cd is only for my old pc , can i use it for any pc like xp recovery? xp pro, its been lagging bit the last 2 days, I turned it off & when I rebooted it wants a windows a user password which has never been se up? I have the only pc.was hacked but my LAN is off most times. I tried a few passwords no luck. This user windows password screen is after it starts but before get to desktop? I cant get 2 safe mode @ startup It will not allow me just refreshes start screen options Ubuntu can open, No Windows install disk. Is their a virus that has effected my system?

Recovery. You get a PE so you can backup your data if your disk gets corrupted. You can not do that with the installation disk.

if you install xp on your pc then your vista will be deleted because you will need to format your hard drive

if you have the product key on your computer, you could download an image of XP and change the product key.

Vlite doesnt make a bootable Vista DVD, it streamlines a setup disc so you can add or remove drivers, programs and add tweaks when you install vista.

I said in this video to look for "WinPE 2.0" to create a bootable Vista disc for recovery.
