so does anyone know if this is legal for sure??? i really like the idea of it and wouldnt be worried one bit that the gun would fire in my back pocket like people think. if u have ever fired a LCP 380, u really gotta pull that trigger hard it would take an incrediblly strange act for something to get into the trigger guard and pull the trigger when in ur pants pocket... just gotta be carefull pulling it out...its soo "iffy" if this is legal i looked at the MN laws and it needs a trigger cover
@bmw76308 The holster fires outside the containment device. The old wallet holsters used to be considered AOW because they fired inside the holster and there was a flap covering the slide. The Grip-It is designed for the pistol to fire outside of the containment device allowing it to be recognized as a gun when drawn.
Unfortunatly this would create a huge legal issue here in Mo. If the gun is still in a holster when fired its illegal somehow, I heard a cop talking about this on a radio show where a guy called in an mentioned he had a holster like this.
We have a letter from the ATF saying it is not an 'any other weapon' but states have their own laws, so be sure to be clear on your state's. And look into it yourself, cause there are a lot of myths out there...so dig and find the truth for yourself :)
This is not a wallet holster. The wallet holster has the slide covered making in AOW. This does not have the slide covered thus its legal and not in violation of sc 12020. A man used one of these in SD in LA. He was fine.
There is nothing covering the trigger, you are correct. A lot of .380s do not have a safety and are double action with a long trigger pull making it harder to accidentally pull the trigger BUT you are right that you do have to be careful. One of the advantages of the holster is that it is real quick to access the trigger without 'de-holstering' but you do need make sure you draw the gun properly and don't put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire.
@CAConcealed "a "wallet gun" means any firearm mounted or enclosed in a case, resembling a wallet, designed to be or capable of being carried in a pocket or purse, if the firearm may be fired while mounted or enclosed in the case."
that kinda sounds like it fits the description. while it may be ok with the DOJ and ATF, california has more strict rules.
Thank you for your response. Though we have a letter from ATF approving the Grip-It as legal, we are working to find out if that overrides states DOJ rules or not. I am currently awaiting a response to CA DOJ Firearms dept and as soon as I do, I will post a response here. Thanks again for your concern. CA has so many more rules it's hard to keep up so we appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will be looking into it.
I apologize for our late response to your question. Sitting down with the Grip-It in your pocket simply feels the same as having your bulky wallet in your pocket.
We have modified the Grip-It to accommodate the Bodyguard. It will be available and listed on our website within the next few weeks. Please be sure to check back then. We will try and update you here as well as soon as it's available. Thanks for your interest!

In Texas Its illegal to carry any holster that has a hole where you can fire gun while still in holster !
Im pretty sure it like that in all states too !
With California having some of the most stupid laws in the land im sure its illegal to carry in same state you are selling these holsters !
Love the idea but you will be in more trouble with this holster than the gun your carrying !
Just know the laws in your area before you spend bucks on something that will get you in trouble !

Is there anything covering the trigger? I am not 100% comfortable if the trigger covered.

@regsands That is my worry as well, especially considering my 380 lacks a safety....
