  • @Dsquadddd

HAHA three years later, Steve rocks with John Paul Jones & Dave Grohl on Huge Stage.

    FAIL!

  • HOOTENANNY NOW

  • @Dsquadddd Ive heard loads of Americans wishing he'd go back. Anyhow, that's part of blues - telling a story! My favourite ss song.

  • thats not a stuck on beard, thats a beard thats been there for years, i grew a beard for extended periods after a while it takes a certain shape.

  • cool man!Big fun, pure and simple.Come to New Zealand Sea sick Steve

  • @Dsquadddd honestly i dont give a shit if he has a stick on beard, the man is a legend now gtfo

  • no one in the audience realized that they should respond "must I stand you evil ways" at the ending, if they did I bet he would continue shredding

  • "...biggest piece of shit in the world, I swear" :).

    Great musican! Great riff!

  • i like this guy

  • those 5 people who disliked it are justin beiber loving fags

  • Who cares how he does it as long as he gets it done? The true roots of shredding. Awesome.

  • It is the coolest musician whom I know

  • Dsquadddd you moron

  • fuking amazing ... nuff sed

  • FANTASTIC!

  • at risk of souding a tiny bit racist, this guy is a living reminder that white guys can actually sing one fuck of a good blues song.

  • Blues is not Black or White, it's Blue :P

  • This dude has some good tunes.. but i would not put him anywhere close to SRV or clapton.. Hes playing in Open G which is extremely easy... You literally just have to bar the frets and strum.. And with that slide it is a clasic blues tuning.. But he still has some catchy tunes.. This being the best ive heard

  • but! he only plays with 3 strings ;) lol

  • I fucking love this tune, Im going to see him live tommorrow at Brixton academy, wooooooo

  • Was he good?

  • he cooler than a cool thing on cool day... just won first prize for being cool!

    brill!

  • cooler than barry cool, from coolville

  • stuff dem "F" holes wit dem towels !

  • this guys is awsome.

  • too good

  • i wanne play whit tis man the saxefoon !!!

  • RAW MUSIC AT ITS BEST

  • Seasick Steve and Clapton are Gods

  • Seasick Steve and Clapton? Where do see the resemblance?

  • No semblence otha than Clapton is God graffiti wus abundant in England and I thought Steve deserved tha same praise

  • If only Clapton would have took that helicopter ..... We still would have SRV!!

  • OMF...G!

  • Dose there have to be? apart from great Guitar playing?

  • Haha, oh please! Go and do your research. Steve isn't a fake.

Maybe go have a chat with Steve yourself and say it to his face, I'm sure he'd happily correct you..

  • Steve's not fake , he's a song and dance man. Relax dude, and enjoy the show.

  • who cares if he lets on he,s from mars, among the plastic mass manufactured pop shite theese days he,s a breath of fresh air!!

  • I love seasick steve 2, and I'm not even born yet i'm tapping this message out from my mammy's tummy using morse code.. :-)

  • Dude, stay there it`s pretty gloomy out here, in fact move over i wanna join you. If she starts pushing your going first cos the tax man wants a chat with me !!!

  • i wish to enter your mothers womb too

  • 2:38 !

  • lmao.

  • It's actually an Old firebird from Gibson.

If you find one these on ebay they're worth about $10 grand now.

  • He's playin' a brand new Gibsonstratosquire II.(Les Tele model Red/orange seethroug+ )

They are worth about € 1.000.000.000.000.00000.

No kidding !( I own one myself)

  • love to meet this guy !!!

    greetings from germany.....

  • i prefer chiggers, now that is a song lol

I thought i was alone, my friends all think im wierd when a talk about steve!!!!!

  • 13 (Y)

my uncle told me about Seasick after seeing him at Reading Fest ages ago and yeah hes pretty darn awesome !

  • whats the original guitar he's using

  • my type of shit raw music ! ! ! ! ! and steve you are the best at it play on ML blue Baltimore ,Maryland

  • pure and utter legend!!

  • AHhhhlright !

    Go on Seassick ...

  • this fuckin rocks i aint a blue no more

  • this is brilliant!

  • argh the blues is takin over my soul!!

he reminds me of Stephen Dale Petit (highly recommended youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=vbVFdlcyheI)

why isnt this guy bigger? guess the hobo look doesnt help? :P i so wanna c him live!

  • Saw him live and he is mindblowing! If you get the chance go see him, and if you don't get the chance then find a way!!

  • True bit of skill right there, the stuff he can do on that guitar is amazing.

  • Hmm - I have to disagree there! Don't get me wrong, I think this is brilliant, but it's the soul and the energy, really back to basics gritty blues, that makes it what it is. Doing a bit of blues riffing on 3 strings is the easy part, it's making that come alive that takes skill!

  • Good comment. To be sucessfull you don't have to do much, but whatever little thing you do, do it bloody well, that's what Steve does.

  • Just pure amazing the guy rocks !!

  • He's the Man! he can disarm anyone with the guitar around.

  • modern day robert johnson...

  • definatly similar

  • i think i just fell in love...

  • a peice of pure genius i saw him first on jools holand too and he was brilliant great atmosphere

  • Sickly Magnificent ;)

  • saw him on jools holand new years eve and good to hear a true music genius

  • Play the Blues...

  • seasick steve is so playing that gitare =D

  • The dogs gonards !

  • Go Steve Go !!

I hope everything goes right for you!

  • Just seen him at west coast blues n roots it was worth the $125 just to see him

  • I've seen him a lattitude hope hes here this year he is amazing!!!

  • Seasick Steve rules! I wish I discovered him earlier.

  • Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh

    AMAZING!!!

    WOW!!!

  • Jack "nicked" the "whole loud southern blues thing" from real blues musicians. you speak about the blues genre as if it were a novelty.

  • Steve actually supported Son House in the 1960s. Jack White covered a Son House song in the 21st Century...Work it out Mr Magic Badge!

  • Speechless.

  • hes cool how does his guitar sound like that thats the sound i want on my guitar

  • haha 2 reasons it sounds so good

1: it's his own style you won't hear it anywhere else

2: his set up is sooooo cheap he uses a box a 3 stringed guitar and a very bad amp dunno what

  • he bought it and he got ripped off, he kept it like that to show it... And man, he mastered a rip off guitar

  • haha yes he did that guys insane on that guitar such a strage style but it works soooo well

  • Tickets for the RAH are on sale now, if you haven't found out already :)

  • it's weird hes only become famous in the last while... Seems like hes been doing this all his life.

  • Wow! I'm ashamed to say I only just discovered this guy here!

Is he really playing that guitar with just three strings on it? Hmmm...now I know where I've been going wrong! I've been making things too complicated for myself by keepiing six strings on my guitar! LOL

    Great stuff!

  • this guys jesus with a guitar

  • It's called the 3 string trans wonder. It's got three strings

  • is it trance or trans?

    im not sure

  • Trance

  • right cool

    thanks

  • Comes from the 'trance-blues' of North Mississippi where players often play on one-chord for hours inducing a happy 'trance'!

  • can u imagine if he had the other two strings?

  • And if he had the other THREE strings then he'd be even better!!!

  • Brussels tomorrow, then Astoria, Academy Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds. Whole tour!

  • Me too!

  • That's OK! Sorry if I seemed a bit aggressive. I'm a Seasick Steve geek... ;-)

  • When? Do you mean Camden Electric Ballroom perhaps?

  • He's never played Koko.

  • amazing

  • wooooo

  • Brilliant, Rock 'N Roll

  • im so annoyed i live just in Nailsea outside of Bristol i think i saw Jetro Tull or some act like that in THEKLA its truly a great venue so compact you can smell the acts sweat, which is not great.

  • i got one for 13.50 no extra charge. :)

  • imagine him on a six string .........amazin.

  • I think you've missed the point some what....

  • this is a 6string.just watch hos fingers and listen carefully

  • He,s just incredible, I bet he goes on for ever!!

  • BEST EVER

  • this guy is ace

  • haha i bought one yesterday for 20.35 :) although there was a 4.80 transaction fee. wankers.

  • The original poster has deleted their post (I think) and the reason why I refer to the amount of ticket price is because they were referring to the supposed bucket loads of cash Steve was now making.

So transaction fees has nothing to do with it, as that money never goes anywhere near the artist.

  • yeah i know, i was referring to see tickets as wankers, as its them that charged me the extra 4.80, the ticket itself was only £15. to be honest i wouldnt mind paying £20 and letting the extra go to the artist, rather than £20 and having see tickets take almost a quarter of it.

its all relative i guess, considering its just a piece of paper with foil on it

  • This guy is one crazy slide guitarist.

  • If only that song could cut the wings of conformism

    ALLAH ACKBAR!

  • The mans a genius

  • only learning to play guitar, guys like this just blow your mind.

  • Seasick Steve ftw

  • This was one day before my birthday. Gotta love Seasick Steve.

  • wicked unreal what a talent

  • This guy is awesom! 5*

  • This guy is amazing, love his sound both guitar and vocal... not forgetting the Mississipi drum machine. He certainly did rock on Jools's NY show.

Why does he have to be on tour in January, why could he not have waited so I had plenty of time to plan to get to a show.

2008 is the year of Seasick Steve

  • I am sure he will tour again later on in 2008. He already did roughly three tours in 2007, so I'm sure he'll be back for more this year.

  • i was literally goosebumped...all over man..this guy was fckin brilliant on jools holland!!...proper revival of blues..live on man

  • saw him on jewls holland on new years eve. Brilliant. His accent rocks. Kate Nas sucks. This guy rules

  • im down with the nash and down with the seasick........but Mr seasick is alot better.

  • some say hes just a hobo on a gui-tar. they are right!

  • very much i saw her and i didnt like it at all and that was for the first time i didnt even know who she was.

  • I totally agree Kate Nash did suck and she always will! Live long Steve!

  • rocked on jools holland

  • amazing

  • I had to note down his name also from this morning, l really liked it.

  • same ere seasick steve got wrote down along wiv kate knash

  • kate nash is crap! she talks in ur songs i hate that accent of hers this guy is well pukka as she'd say mind blowingly awesome

  • TOTALLY agree. Kate Nash- totally annoying voice, crap songs, crap words and a keyboard curtain that John Shuttleworth would have been proud of. In fact give me John Shuttleworth and Seasick Steve anyday.

  • i ad 2 write his name down wen i saw him last night, i was 2 stoned 2 b able 2 remember it. couldnt wait 2 check him out 2day. this man's great

  • My hero. A modern blues legend.

  • god damn! when he pulls out the slide, he absolutely fucking destroys everything

  • how name's that kind of blues ?

  • Is this man the best white blues man ever?

  • One of them for sure. Up there with Rory Gallagher and Jack White.

  • Seeing the old dog at plug, sheffield in 21st!!! WITH simplekid :D

    WOO!

  • hot damn, that was amazing.

  • Hendrix eat your heart out.

  • Just Awsome.

  • I pulled three strings off my old epiphone just to do this all day.

    Seasick steve

    is sweet.

  • fisherprice guitars from gamleys.

  • i really wanna guitar like this .... can any1 recomend a good cheap guitar that i cud use

  • Dude, Epiphones are sweet for this type of shit. But they're still in the mid range price wise to get a decent one, i.e. could cost you £400 (british). But I know there are some ibanez old skool sukkers that will give you this sound. The roadstar II for example. If you can find one.

  • anything that has a neck, body and pickup that costs about 50 quid, seriously, anythin with a humbucker. Just beat the shit out of it and riip off three strings, there's a video of seasick steve telling where he got his guitar, it cost $25.

  • He's coming to Bristol soon but I havn't got the funds to go see him!!! Not happy!!! Gonna have to wait until he comes anywhere near the southwest again.

  • I'm going to that gig too.

But I'd seriously think about selling a kidney to go to a gig as I think the chances of him returning again are slim. The October tour will, after all, be his third extensive UK tour this year.

  • If you only see one person live inyour life, make it Seasick Steve, Seen him 5 times this year. Unbelievable....Even let him kiss my wife.

    HAHA

  • he looks so happy when he plays

  • ive got one of those guitars if u want it

  • They should make a Seasick Steve signature guitar.

  • Thats what I've always thought. I think I remember hearing that there is one, but I've never seen it
