smart guy, here hed just be bar singer, but in europe the blues is seen as unique and new, as they call this guy, so hes able to make it big there...ithink hes really smart for that move!!!
This dude has some good tunes.. but i would not put him anywhere close to SRV or clapton.. Hes playing in Open G which is extremely easy... You literally just have to bar the frets and strum.. And with that slide it is a clasic blues tuning.. But he still has some catchy tunes.. This being the best ive heard
Dude, stay there it`s pretty gloomy out here, in fact move over i wanna join you. If she starts pushing your going first cos the tax man wants a chat with me !!!
Hmm - I have to disagree there! Don't get me wrong, I think this is brilliant, but it's the soul and the energy, really back to basics gritty blues, that makes it what it is. Doing a bit of blues riffing on 3 strings is the easy part, it's making that come alive that takes skill!
Wow! I'm ashamed to say I only just discovered this guy here!
Is he really playing that guitar with just three strings on it? Hmmm...now I know where I've been going wrong! I've been making things too complicated for myself by keepiing six strings on my guitar! LOL
im so annoyed i live just in Nailsea outside of Bristol i think i saw Jetro Tull or some act like that in THEKLA its truly a great venue so compact you can smell the acts sweat, which is not great.
The original poster has deleted their post (I think) and the reason why I refer to the amount of ticket price is because they were referring to the supposed bucket loads of cash Steve was now making.
So transaction fees has nothing to do with it, as that money never goes anywhere near the artist.
yeah i know, i was referring to see tickets as wankers, as its them that charged me the extra 4.80, the ticket itself was only £15. to be honest i wouldnt mind paying £20 and letting the extra go to the artist, rather than £20 and having see tickets take almost a quarter of it.
its all relative i guess, considering its just a piece of paper with foil on it
TOTALLY agree. Kate Nash- totally annoying voice, crap songs, crap words and a keyboard curtain that John Shuttleworth would have been proud of. In fact give me John Shuttleworth and Seasick Steve anyday.
Saw him on the BBC @ Jules Holland last night and looked him up on YouTube as soon as I woke up.................I LOVE IT !! Going to spend a large part of this NewYearsday listening to all these videos !!

Dude, Epiphones are sweet for this type of shit. But they're still in the mid range price wise to get a decent one, i.e. could cost you £400 (british). But I know there are some ibanez old skool sukkers that will give you this sound. The roadstar II for example. If you can find one.
anything that has a neck, body and pickup that costs about 50 quid, seriously, anythin with a humbucker. Just beat the shit out of it and riip off three strings, there's a video of seasick steve telling where he got his guitar, it cost $25.
He's coming to Bristol soon but I havn't got the funds to go see him!!! Not happy!!! Gonna have to wait until he comes anywhere near the southwest again.
But I'd seriously think about selling a kidney to go to a gig as I think the chances of him returning again are slim. The October tour will, after all, be his third extensive UK tour this year.
