Specialists(real professionals, combat officers) would say that's never 1 shot - 1 kill.
It's the second or the third shot which is resultative... Anyway at close distance(enter 250mt.) that's rather possible thing.
But you children need to realise that to produce an effective shot sniper needs to calculate smth like 8 parameters contemporary, that's why it takes(in 90% of cases) two or more shots to hit the long distance target, it's not like COD birdcrap.
Good point, further, tactically speaking taking out a general from 200 yards is usually a better shot than a lowly private at 2000 yards. Further, kidney shots produce the maximum amount of pain and hence produce the most hideous of screams, when the enemy is uncertain of a snipers position it forces them to contemplate risking further casualties from the sniper/s or having to listen to the person that keeps their chins up die in agony. So it's not always One shot One kill COD fanboy shit.

A Wermacht patrol found his dead body seeping with puss.
it's a somewhat correct assumption by your typical footsoldier takes a far greater risk than that a of a sniper who opperates on his own terms, calculating opsitons and escape routes, as opposed to footsoldier who opperates more under the command of an NCO. I guess thats where it comes from.

Specialists(real professionals, combat officers) would say that's never 1 shot - 1 kill.
It's the second or the third shot which is resultative... Anyway at close distance(enter 250mt.) that's rather possible thing.
But you children need to realise that to produce an effective shot sniper needs to calculate smth like 8 parameters contemporary, that's why it takes(in 90% of cases) two or more shots to hit the long distance target, it's not like COD birdcrap.

Good point, further, tactically speaking taking out a general from 200 yards is usually a better shot than a lowly private at 2000 yards. Further, kidney shots produce the maximum amount of pain and hence produce the most hideous of screams, when the enemy is uncertain of a snipers position it forces them to contemplate risking further casualties from the sniper/s or having to listen to the person that keeps their chins up die in agony. So it's not always One shot One kill COD fanboy shit.

@Gooner018 That is; risking further casualties attempting to rescue shot man or merely deciding to manuevre out of cover anytime soon. This is why snipers are so effective. It's the tactical aspect of sniping that is ignored over the skill level that is promoted by video games.

@Gooner018 You could be surprised or disagree, but you may find it curious. During the Chechen campaign it found out that snipers are not 'priviliged' or wellcomed anymore(by their colleagues). I can't explain why, but my uncle who served in Chechnya knew a pro-sniper(contract officer) who told him that snipers are the most disliked class in Russian Army. They were considered like someone to keep away. IDK Y! During the WWII and cold war this class was the most appreciated.Rly strange phenomenon

@Travmapunk I remember reading (allegedly) of one German Sniper (equiped with Russian rifle and explosive ammunition)but was still used by both sides on Eastern Front) who incidently caught by a Russian patrol, was beaten to a pulp, stabbed multiple times, had his genitals sliced off and placed in his mouth and had his rifle literally rammed up his arse muzzle all the way down to the rear gunsight . A Wermacht patrol found his dead body seeping with puss.

it's a somewhat correct assumption by your typical footsoldier takes a far greater risk than that a of a sniper who opperates on his own terms, calculating opsitons and escape routes, as opposed to footsoldier who opperates more under the command of an NCO. I guess thats where it comes from.

@Gooner018 Exactly!!! Another important thing, sniper should consider is the 'importance', significance of the first target in order to hit(sometimes is the only one). As you said, after the 1st hit, enemy soldiers are down, digging deep in the ground with own teeth ;D
