This was and still is one of the best TV Series i have ever seen. This show has GREAT potential for a second season! 1: The war is not over. 2: Vanson and Dampfoos could have easily landed, but Wang sorry to say, impossible but good thoughts :) 3: Just the whole history of the Chigs being apart of earths beginning adds to the story...4th and lastly..McQueen is not out!

I think it's worth at least one more season. And besides, we'll all buy the box set and make them money!!!

@SteampunkPagan look at it this way, the us air force does operate abroad, most recently in iraq and afghan, but so does the us navy, in fact i would say the us navy was responsible for the same amount, if not more of the combat aviation missions then the air force. so in the future, whilst the air force would probably have a space program, they would be responsible for planetary defence as without a carrier which us navy and marine aviators fly off where could they go. just like today.

One of the things i loved about this show is that the earth wasn't a united planet. in later episodes you saw officers from other countries involved with the war, such as britain, china and so on. i used to spend hours imagining the world this series was set in. it's a shame that we would never, ever get the chance to see more of it. Truly one of the greats that deserved another chance. Who knows, maybe they'll revive it one day

As mentioned by others before, I immediately recognized stuff from season 1... you should have made a note that this was a "fan-made" trailer for a "what-if" second season instead of making this sound like a lost season 2 preview.

There was never a plan for season 2...that's why the director and producer killed the main characters off...to make it virtually impossible to resurrect the series.

One of the saddest moments for me as a fan was when James Morrison put his black Angels flight suit up for auction back in 2000 at a fan con in the UK. At least it went to a fan and wasn't destroyed like so many other props from S:AAB in movies by Fox.

Watch the last chig fighter, he clips it and it collides with the empty half. Watch even closer you see one undamaged half of the pod blown clear. Wang is happily floating around in there.

Its taken me a few years to work out what this show was called. watched it in the 90's and had forgot the title. Really good sci fi and actually thought that was the official end with them all in a dark ending. Kind of worked quite well in a way to make you want more. Obviously wasn't intended to be like that as I didn't realise it was axed.

I realy liked the show but I wouldn't say it was better than Battlstar. As for it's run, at least it got a full season. Unlike Kindred, Wolf lake. This almost felt like Band of Brothers by the time the season was over so was the war, pritty mutch. I felt this was everything Wing Commander should have been but wasn't.

I would just like to express how much I enjoyed watching this. A near-perfect recap to the critical events of Season One. However, some reference / footage of the disastrous peace talks would have set a chilling tone regarding Earth's place in the universe (those of you who have watched the final episode should understand what I mean) I don't want to spoil too much for those of you who are yet to see this masterpiece.

No it isn't. It is based on military books and movies that Moore has read and seen. There are many elements in common but Moore's characters are are too dysfunctional and not likeable for my taste. SAAB characters are flawed but they do their job and show at least a modicum of honour and positive traits.

Moore could have made his series greater by actually using this series as a template. Instead he chose to hit us over the head with his in your face dysfunctionality

I realise that there is only a hand full of the Colonial military left, but having high ranking disfunctional characters in a Military environent isnt realistic in my opinion. The charcters in SAAB are well behaved because they are in the military however they do mis-behave e.g Hawkes drug addiction, West's quest to find Kylen, what more do you want? Your opinion is flawed not SAAB.

SAAB characters are flawed but still but likeable. Moore has taken his characters dysfuction too far and they are not likeable.

SAAB should have been the template for Moore.

My opinion is absolutely rock solid SAAB most definetly

I have to agree. I like that BSG avoids a lot of the stuff that dragged down ST:TNG which was utopian and initially BSG was the new SAAB but then it fell into the trap of being *too* dark and depressing. *Everyone* has a dark past and/or does is a screwup and it doesn't work for that reason, it's like there are no normal people in BSG.

More SAAB woould be great. Just keep Ronald D. Moore away from your show.

Ronald D. Moore is a great producers his problem was let's renake every key male characters female. Though he is better then Berman and Braga.
