  • Try using Devcon aluminium putty. ensure the damaged hole is completely clean and oil free. Mix the Devcon as per instructions and fill the hole, put as much around the hole as you can without interfering with any moving parts. Allow it to dry, When set its as hard as shit. and will be able to be drilled and tapped, use the cover as a drilling jig.BE FUCKIN CAREFUL It will need to be filed flat to ensure your cover will seal correctly. good luck

  • fix ya primery chain ..for a start, looks like it may be a bit lose ..if its old ..it will up ride and hit ..and as south ern said ... weld it & retap

  • weld it and re tap thread.

  • Left-hand drill bits, drill out.

Since the bike is 1964, that means you have Whitworth threads, 1/4-24 TPI (not SAE 1/4-28) so do not disturb the original threads.

  • fill it in with a nice welder and then drill it again

  • How about a new thread the ones you drill out the old thread and then tap a new thread and screw in the new thread housing. I stripped the last exhaust manifold bolt in the block right up against the fire wall on a 4MU Toyota Crown engine and that was 70,000 klms ago and its still going fine

  • Get JB welds compound from walmart for a couple of bucks. Clean the area up acetone to remove oil. scuff with file or sand paper. Fill in the void with JB welds then redrill and tap. Or put bolt in place apple jb welds then when dry back the bolt out and reassemble. I have used this on alot of stuff. Very good stuff. Good luck.

  • Change the case or buy a dry clutch. I have a trick open primary cover on my 67. Think I bought the case and clutch at British Only. Later

  • Get out the miller 180sd and fill in the hole, drill, tap done.

  • Drill the center of the screw and use a screw extractor, if the surface is to jagged to do that, go up one drill size larger than the screw, drill the screw out completely and put in a heli-coil, any reputable parts house will have them.
