Angel had a darker SIDE. Can't think of a better actress than SMG that could have pulled the series off. Wish she'd find better scripts. Southland Tales was a DISASTER!

Also, it was more honest than ANY show I've ever seen on TV, it was entertaining, taught a lesson (if you were smart enough to see it), etc. Angel was also great, and showed the same, albeit a bit more visual, and a darker. When Buffy's mother died, mine had just passed. I hate to admit it, but it helped me to cope. Buffy was therapeutic and cathartic, or emotionally purging. What a loss. But I'm sure SMG was getting real tired of it, unfortunately. She was really great!

Cool! That's because most people are COMPLETELY superficial, only concerned with outward appearances. Most don't even care what their friends are REALLY going through. I have almost every Buffy NON-fiction book written, including the PHYSICS book, String Theory and the Buffyverse, What's At Stake (pun on words), Why Buffy Matters, .......all of these books explain what's underneath the exterior. AND how they relate to the human condition, esp. the teenage years.

@Garethstruelove I totally agree, the campy costume effects were actually kind of a joke, and the stories themselves were truly incredible, profound, and more honest than other shows on TV at that time. It was no different than using mythology to explain events, it all stands for real life situations and the human condition. I would love to post videos like this on FB, but nobody comments and I'm left feeling like a total dork even though I know I'm supporting one of THE best shows ever to air.

Buffy TVS was the most under appreciated show ever on television. A lot of people could not get past the "monster" facades, and understand what was going on underneath the obvious. What a loss to them.
