BTW it is recommend you began potty training when the puppy is a month old. At 6 weeks your puppy is too young to learn that way. We have done that with both of our dogs. Raised them both from puppy hood.

A puppy needs to be trained, pretty much like children need to be disciplined. Letting them have their way would end up in spoiled rotten pets who never listen to you. A dog needs to know it's boundaries. If you give in to a dog's crying, it learns to associate it with getting what it wants, and then it will never stop.

@Me2Luv111 it's not cruelty, it's part of the training process, because the puppy hasn't learned not to pee inside the house yet. A puppy needs to be trained, pretty much like children need to be disciplined. Letting them have their way would end up in spoiled rotten pets who never listen to you. A dog needs to know it's boundaries. If you give in to a dog's crying, it learns to associate it with getting what it wants, and then it will never stop.

I think husky dogs/mixes are one of my favorites, as well as german shepard mixes. so beautiful. If I could choose a dog, I'd get one or the other. I'm actually more of a kitty person but I like dogs too. this puppy is cute! I hate all those animal "lovers" who cry foul every time a puppy whimpers.

I got the same kind of crap from people out on walks when my puppy started pulling to go see someone and I would say no, stop walking, and not let him see the person or other dog until he stopped pulling, calmed down, or sat on his own. Then of course the people are like "Awww he is just a puppy, he just wants to say hi... poor puppy is crying" Just because so many people humanize their pets doesn't mean I have to...
