With no coolant you can still run for a bit until it over heats. A cracked block, depending on where it is cracked could stop on the spot like his did. You lose vacuum on the intake or compression in a cylinder head you're done.

A police car in hot pursuit in Texas wouldn't last 5 minutes with a radiator full of bullet holes. I'm not sure, but I'm willing to bet the V8 in a Crown Vic is made of cast iron and not aluminum.

Our society has an obsession with cops because a lot of people were not in the Military. Once you're in the Service, Cops are public servants and they have to obey the law. The obsession dies.

I disagree, I served for over 8 years in the Army and don't see this as an obsession. I view police officer and firemen as fellow brothers in arms just like those in the Navy, Marines, Air Force and CG...
