  • i just bought an alpha standard brilliant 14inch hi hat and it is not as loud as it sounded in the shop is that how all alphas sounds and all hi hats or am i going crazy thx.

  • only good chinas are wuhan

  • what camera or is it miced

  • Meinl

  • i have that 18 crash medium! IT SOUNDS SO GOOD!

  • Paiste is great productor of cymbals!

  • My favorite serie of paiste is 2002. You can get used ones for pretty decent prices.

  • try anatolian you will love it i love my 17" Ultimate crash!

  • paiste symbals are good, but the best symbals i have ever tried is istanbul symbals.

  • DO you think paiste alpha worth it??? Or should I spend more for 2002s

  • your camera makes em sound like crap!

  • Ride/Crash cymbals are the worst cymbals straight up crash cymbals are better

  • I have that china. Sounds well better in person and when you actually hit it hard. I hate all these videos were they hit the crashes/chinas gentally. What's the point. you wouldn't hit them so light when you're playing and if you do then that's pretty gay.

  • I like Paiste, still I'd put my trust into Sabian

  • i have a b8 14" crash that sounds just like ur paiste xD

  • i cant stand that the alpha series has almost no motion in the cymbals, theyr rock hard... yet they still produce a sound???

  • paiste alpha rock hats ....one of the best ..

  • nice triples dude

  • @zerussomaniac

    Moeller !

  • hate paiste chinas...

  • @BowProAce

2002 novo chinas are very nice I think.

check out paiste twenty as well.

alpha sensitive chinas are way better than the one I got.

but they're no longer produced :(

  • @rbDrum01 I like my 16" Prototype china. It's awesome

  • @rbDrum01 word! sensitives were damn awesome. I'd highly reccomend the 18" rude china, for both of you. Mostly for you who hated paiste chinas. you have no idea what you're saying.

  • @BowProAce I only hate the Paiste ALPHA Chinas!

  • @BowProAce I dig my 2000 Color Sound china.

  • @BowProAce if u can get ur hands on a 502 china, they are deffinatley worth it

  • @BowProAce I have a paiste 2000 china

    Sounds so good

  • @MrSnazman18: Take the Alpha, you can keep this serie all your life 'cause it's already pro-quality. They are the best cymbal-serie you can get for your money...go and get it!

  • Paiste always makes the best bells on their rides

  • i got a new kit and all my cymbols i just need a ride, im debating between the pst 5 rock ride and the alpha full ride here, both 20 inch, i like both but u cant always trust the sound here, if you guys have owned them, wich do u recommend, i play metal/rock. if that helps.

  • You should definitely try them at the shop if you can ..

Regardless, it's "probably" safe to say that Alphas will provide you a fuller, more complex, less metallic sound

  • I don't know about the alphas but I have the pst 5 and it sounds amazing, but it's wortg trying them out definetly.

  • @rbDrum01 not really both have are made different the pst5 collection is made alot like the 2002 line

  • hi there, in my opinion you better buy a alpha ride, it's much better than pst5 ;) . it's just my opinion, but it's really better.

  • I have the full ride, and when it first comes, its a very versatile ride, but if you consistently play metal/rock, put some pieces of duct tape on the underside until you find the sound you like. I did that, and it sounds fantastic.

  • @MrSnazman18 if u go on the paiste website it lets u hear the sound of each cymbal

  • @MrSnazman18 All my cymbals are Zildjian's, including a 21" A Custom Sweet Ride. I also recommend Paiste 22" Dark Metal Ride. I play metal too and use the DM Ride for bad accent fills and usually triplets during galloping on the bell. Plays well on the edge for some pretty narly blast beats.

  • @MrSnazman18 I use a Paiste Alpha Metal Ride 20"

I'm in both a rock band and a metal band, and every single one of my members said they prefered the sound to my PST 5. they said for studio work it has better sound, and live, i could get some incredible sounds from both the bell and the body of the ride :)

  • How much do they cost.?? and were did u bought them>??

  • I bought the small crash brand new for about 110 € in Paris.. the others are second-hand (but like new), if I remember well : china 80€, ride 160€, 18" crash 140 € (average reduction = 30%). got them with internet ads.

By the way I recently bought a Paiste 404 hi-hat, for like 90 €, I will upload a video cause it sounds very nice. This is an old mid-end serie, made of B8, equivalent to new alpha I think. Paiste definitely have the knack for making good cheap cymbales out of b8 alloy

  • what type of bronze are these made out of? and also are these things cast or sheet? ive been looking everywhere to try and find this out but no one knows

  • its the same bronze they use for the "2002" series... have a look at the paiste homepage!

  • b8 sheet bonze thats machine hammered and then hand hammered

  • any1 know what the durability of these cymbals are like?

  • I have the 17" Rock crash, and its VERY strong, I'm a very hard hitter, and it has yet to crack or dent.

  • that makes me happy coz am considering changing from zildjian to paiste because i also hit very hard and i have cracked 3 A customs a pair of hi-hats and a china, what would you recommend for tight crisp hi-hats that are very strong

  • @theworldofrocknroll

i recommend Paiste alpha rude hats or if ur willing to spend a lil more, go for a nice meinl or bosphorus cymbal. u can get the sound u want with those companies for sure.

  • @nightfoxteam Paiste's in general are indestrukable, i dropped one of my balcony 2 stories up and its still with me a year later.

  • @FragileBandSweden I'm just curious, how did you manage to do that? Or did you throw it off on purpose?

Two drums and a cymbal fall off a balcony... ba-dum, tish.

  • HAHA, fragilebandsweden here, another acc, but i got pissed so u threw it off my balcony ;) haha

  • their durability is awesome, especially the alpha rock series!

  • i kno... im just letting the people kno who wanna buy them

  • i have alphas and they sound better in person than in this vid they're very nice cymbals

  • Every cymbal does...

  • nice, the larger crash has a nice ride sound than the ride...

  • Zildjian K's, Paiste Giant Beat or 2oo2 or Twenty or Signature, many more.

  • Get some istanbul alchemy last forever.

  • i need new cymbals cause i got a zxt pack with a free 14" thin crash but both the crashes have cracks in them.. what cymbals should i get?!?!

  • how long did u have these cymbals for

  • a bit more than two years i think.. they're alright but pretty standard cause it was like £200 for the whole set with a free 14" crash

  • Alpha's if you can afford them. Otherwise pst5s

  • yeah my mate recomended alphas.. which is better in your opin, zildjian a custom or alphas or aa/aax sabain?

    :)

  • Man if you are looking for the best richest sounding cymbal for the cheapest amount of cash I definitely recommend the XS20 Sabians. They are b20 bronze with a great rich full tone and they are cast cymbals, not sheet. I have the 20 hats and ride in my vids if you wanna see them used semi professionally. They are cheap and last forever and now are in a brilliant finish and sound even better. Check em out if you havent already.

  • well paiste were used by john bonham because he couldent break them. he actually said they were the only cymbals that would stand up to his bashing so maybe consoder them? but the guy above is right istanbul will also last a long while. probably should test both out and see which you prefer the sound of

  • paiste alphas are great, if you play rock/metal, but not for other types of music. Sabians are usually a safe bet, zildjians are 50/50.... IMO.

  • @kracker740 I have a Paiste Alpha cymbal which i think works well for Jazz/Funk.

The 18 Medium crash sounds nice to use as a ride. It has a good zizzle for jazz playing.

  • @kracker740 I have a Paiste Alpha cymbal which i think works well for Jazz/Funk.

The 18 Medium crash sounds nice to use as a ride. It has a good zizzle for jazz playing. That's my opinion

  • I LOVE PAISTE.

  • i think the thin crashes sound amazing im getting them for my new set

  • ive got the ride it never lets me down . im happy with the sound of the 18" thin i was going to get a medium but the thin sounds and reacts quicker . but what i was really surprised about was the sound of the 14" crash. that would be great for ending a drum fill to a moderate rock or metal beat.

  • what kind of camera did you use to record this? the sound quality is fantastic..

  • this is not the cam sound (which is awful).

there are two mics standing nearby ;)

  • no hi hats?

  • not really for the moment I use mostly my little 14" crash as a bottom and an old low-end ufip as a top. Sounds fairly good actually, but I need to buy a real one (maybe an alpha, maybe not, depending on what I find within my budget)

  • sabian chinas all the way.... paiste's chinas are the only thing i cant say paiste does well on

  • yeah, i can understand what you mean...

ive been looking for a long time for a good china which has got at least a bit of a defined sound...

i think the alpha sensitive china and some of the twenty chinas are not bad...

  • the 2002 novo china is a classic

  • thx :)

what do you think of the 2002 wild china?

  • That crash is just lacking the energy I need... or are you just not that hard a hitter? It sounds great, but in the video, it needs a little more... a little more bright, full explosion. I assume its just a light hit.

  • what crash are you talking about ?

I'm not a hard hitter indeed, sometimes I even don't use the tightening upper nut so the cymbal can fully express ;)

  • The 18"

  • ok

    watch my new video :

    watch?v=U2Z33JvnM_0

you can hear it better.. I think if you hit hard enough, this cymbal can provide all the energy you want ;)

  • ive got a 20" paiste alpha ride too but its 2008 model wit instead of the A for alpha mine says aLpHa in funky writing nic cymbals though XD

  • ive got alphas from back in 2003, mine has a triangle, square and circle on the logo for some reason. they sound great, im not replacing them unless they crack then il get 2002's : )

  • u kno joey doesnt even use those shitty painted alphas, if you see pictures of slipknots tour u can see that Joey is actully using black painted RUDES

  • yep...the black alphas are just a signature lines ...put it this way, its a way to return the colorsound series but this time has a really famous drummer sponsoring them...like the niko mcbrain ride...the John Dolmyan Megapower ride...but in this cases the artist uses them :)

  • Thanks man! Helped a lot!

    Keep on drumming.

  • yea I think black alphas have nothing special except their colour, compared with normal alphas..

at least that's what I've read everywhere.

btw, J.Jordison has apparently lost a lot of his skill in double-bass, according to some feedbacks I read of Slipknot latest concerts :S

If it's true, Joey probably lost his main (only ?) asset lol.. But nevertheless he is/was pretty skilled, so don't disrespect him haha

  • he did break his ankle not that long ago but from what ive seen joeys getting back to normal but on the subject of black alphas there is no difference at all exept the finish

  • great if he got back his feet technique..

anyway, I think the black coating does affect the sound a bit (less sustain probably)

  • i actually looked into that the black alphas sound a bit deeper than regular alphas its barely noticeable mostly on the crashes and splashes tho

  • are the black alphas exactly the same just with black on it?

Because there is only but good reviews about this and a few shit ones for the coated ones :/ and i want black to go with my kit and no im not a joey jordison fan hes a gay cunt who cant play drums for shit

  • nice! I like alphas, but I preffer the rudes.

  • the rudes are very nice but way more expensive ^^

If I had got enough money, I'd buy some Signature or Twenty

  • 2002

  • 2002 for rock/metal

they're not very versatile, but they sound good for sure !

  • thanks for posting. i am wanting to buy some paiste alpha's.

  • they have a very good quality/price ratio..

I'm gonna upload a drum solo with these cymbals.

    thx for watching ;)
