Even then the raw materials would not give u economic growth if u don't have the infrastructure to develop these raw materials into finished goods of value. So there can't be a "trade" when Africa is giving China welfare and the Chinese are unable to give anything in return. Deadbeats don't engage in "trade."

Do you have any other ideas as to what Africans can do to defeat poverty? Nothing else hasn't worked. Africans are actually seeing roads built, rail lines refurbished, new housing, hospitals, shopping centers, office buildings... The West has done nothing but thrown aid at them.

@BlackTruthForever African countries are seeing high economic growth raters due largely to trade and business with China. For instance, Ethiopia's GDP grew by 7.5% in 2011. And total incomes in 17 African nations have grown by 5% per year. Among these are an expanding middle class. You have to do some research of your own. How is this the result of neocolonialism? You still didn't present an alternative. The real neocolonialists are Western NGOs who want to keep blacks poor.

The west gives aid to dictators and then acts surprise when the country is in shambles. Do some more history of this relationship and you will find what the IMF and World Bank have been doing to try to stop growth. with China and Africa

@KISHISHEV China in Africa has nothing at all to do with Aid assistance and more to do wih the fact that China is returning to its old trading partner and renewing old ties that existed from the age of the "silk road" trade back in the 12th Century which was broken under Portuguese influence in India in the 14th Century. Of course China is interested in everything because Africa has everything ! China is lending low interest loans, building Hospitals, bridges, Ports railways!
