  • Excellent.

  • I am looking for 8 cuts of Al Donahue, created at the Radio City Music Hall in around 1941, the very first soundie... I have 5 of them. My dad is in them and he is still around.. he's 89.

  • I love all music. Swing music always puts me in a good mood. Makes me want to really appreciate old music.

  • I want these times back. The modern music is shit.

  • Fantastic documentary, I've been looking for Swing music for a long time now, I cant find anything though. Is it good?

  • So is swing anything like ska?

  • Ska developed from Swing and Jazz music.

  • + rock

  • does anyone know the song right at the start of the vid?

  • "does anyone know the song right at the start of the vid?". Answer: It's the middle of the intro into the song "Sentimental Journey" by Les Brown and His Orchestra and sung by the 17 yr. old Doris Day. The version on the vid isn't the original but the original was recorded in 1945 and was a tremedous hit.

  • SWIIING BROOOTHERRRRR SWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING !

    great documentary

  • great documentary!

  • swing fuckin rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome. Well done. Swing is big with the kids these days. The classes hold younger and younger students. :)

  • omg, this video helped me with my project!!

    thank u soooo much!!!

  • My grandpa and grandma listened and danced to swing music from the 30's up until their deaths in the 80's. Grandpa would be caning a chair in the corner of the living room while grandma would be knitting in her chair while the record player played all the old good ones.

  • The documentary is incorrect about one thing. The Jive and the Shag are actually different dances than the Lindy Hop.

  • does anyone know some really good swing music bands?

  • Modern or Vintage Bands?

Modern: The Campus Five, Stompy Jones, George Gee, Bill Elliot

Original: Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Chick Webb, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Sidney Bechet

  • cool thanks a bunch

  • Try Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, my personal fav!
