I got one of those a while back. Didn't hit the links or anything, knew it was a phishing scam. Never reply to anything that asks for pin numbers, account numbers, or any personal information. Youtube does not need your password to get into yur account but others would.

Its a golden rule about all internet accounts, never click links in mails about those accounts. Always access your account from your regular page in your favourites or a typed address in your browser.

MrStripyHead, another word of advice. ALWAYS look at the url when you are at a sign in page. Normally where it says "h t t p", it should said "h t t p s" which the s means security. If it doesn't say "s", then don't trust it. Just pointing that out. :) (sorry I had to space the letters. Youtube wouldn't let me post the comment.)

Yeah it's a fake login. They can forge YouTube/Google's login page and as soon as you enter your username and password it is saved to their server. After that they change your account info (password and email).

Your email address must be very easy for them to guess it and send you an email.

@MrStripyHead: It's called phishing, mate. I know a cunt who used to do it named Richard Allen. People would go onto his website, where there was an embedded YouTube video. They'd click on it, to go to a copy of YouTube's sign-in page (the web address still showed his site, though). Then they'd 'sign in' and give him their account name and password. He would then close their account or upload porn or whatever he wanted to get them suspended.
