im getting one for Christmas, first off I never knew what a robosapien was but I heard about it so I searched it on YouTube for a sample clip of what it is and I watched this video and these thing are AWESOME! thanks for a sample clip of the robosapien! ;)

Hi- more troubles you may be able to help me with. I got this V2 off ebay. Great condition. I have just been putting him through his paces and managed to get him to bowl. After about 45 mins he started to do strange things. He kept on saying "i need to be upright for this" despite being upright. When i turned him off and on he kept saying "user error" or " i think i have a bad motivator" - what does this mean. Should i put a clean set of batteries in. I hope he isnt broken. Please help me!

Whats the best type of floor for him to work on. I have tried tiled ( uneven) , laminate ( shiney) and carpet - he seems to struggle with them all if im honest. He walks but kinda shuffles! please help - i love my V2 - hes so cool. Got him offf ebay but only had him a few days!

@livewireguy He will always have trouble on carpet or any rough surface. But he should walk easily on smooth tile or hardwood. If he doesn't there could be something wrong with his leg motors or gears. Mine had a gear strip around the hip area. It's easy to disassemble and check.

I am very confused. What is the latest model of the Robosapien? Whenever I search for it on the internet the hands on the robot are claws yet your robots are normal hands, why is this?

@CheatsGlitch This one is the V2, which AFAIK is not sold anymore. The original Robosapien is still sold & that might be what you saw.

what kind of lighting do u use for indoors to recognise his ball i have himfor ages and i cant seem to get him recognise stuff indoors all he says is tracking... :(

@001lightyear He does need strong lighting to recognize colors. It also helps to hold a larger amount of color, which is why I am holding 2 colored objects. Remember he sees thru sensors in his ears!

I got my for 50 bucks. It was a great deal. I control mine with both the remote and by computer, via the roboremote and roboremote software.

Mine was one of the original models that came out in 2005. The way his motors sound, it sounds like they put cheaper motors in your RSV2, which really sucks. Still I wouldn't get rid of my RSV2 for nothing. I have several Wowwee robots and I love them all.

I don't recall if the motors were so loud when it was new. It had very many hours of use in its first year, which might have put some wear & tear on things. I already replaced one stripped gear.

I've watched this video at least 10 or 12 times now and i don't know if your aware of this or not but the Robot is very aware and watching alot of different things.

He's looking at the ball and plastic eggs after he throws them and he's following his owner as he moves around him.

The fact that he identified the blue egg with the blue eggs on the floor and walked over and dropped it remotely close to the other blue eggs is amazing.

There is alot more to this robot than people think.

Yes, the RSV2 has infrared sensors that make it "look at" anything that gives off warmth. Funny sometimes he turns and watches sunshine on the walls. The Robosapien forums on the web have info on all the many subtle tricks the RSV2 can do.

You could in theory use rechargeable batteries, but most of them are too light. The feet need weight of 3 D cells in each to keep him upright.

Check the big batteries in his feet. Sounds like only the AAA cells are working. If that's not the answer, take it back to the store.

Not really. Loud sounds will make him say "I hear something", but only if he's not doing something else at the time.
