Holy shit, they actually filmed Touching the Void there. That is the exact location, I recognise all of the features. I'm so surprised, I thought they may have used a smaller mountain to replicate it, but they actually used Siula Grande to film it.

They have filmed parts at the Siula Grande, but many of the climbing scenes were filmed in the alps (it's not possible to notice the difference anyway). Logically, as the Siula Grande's slopes are a dangerous place to be.

Everestlad sounds like a sofa climber to me. Whores will have their trinkets I suppose. Both world class climbers with a great story, joe and Simon. The 'climbing community' is a lot of bull, everstlad. Mountains don't adhere to clubs. Ur on your own up there my friend.

siula grande was "supposedly" climbed by joe simpson and his mate simon when it all went wrong and simon cut the rope on joe seeing him fall like a dart into a crevasse. They have both been slated by the mountaineering comuntiy for years about all the tales they had to say about it and the media attention that they both say they dont want but arrange anyway. This all happened at the hight of the climbing boom when they wanted film and book contracts and they were a succsess. fucking wankers!!!

Actually Siula is almost completely blocked by lower peaks from seconds 15 to 20. The big mountain at around 10 seconds is the south face of Yerupaja.
