@Reinoutify it just stops some of the vibrations on the ride giving it less of a sustain i guess you could somewhat compare it to the dampeners people put on the toms and snare

@king94drummerboy i wasn't a camera guy for this no haha. i just know a pretty good amount about this stuff. they were shooting in a format called interlaced, i dont understand why anyone would shoot in that format

Why does he place tape on the underside of the cymbal? Does he want to cut the overtones? To me it looks like it chokes the ride a bit.
