i dont think ur sharpening method is correct, u moved it in circular movements, ur supposed to sharpen the fibers on the blade in opposite directions so that they both go together to make one sharp blade
hi, I've seen all your videos and I must say quite amazing what you've done, so you camped In Sweden for a year (I thought I read that...)and where exactily if I may ask??
I've worked and lived in Sweden for a year. This was in a place called Ransberg, a scout center in the middle of nowhere. That's where I built a trappertrail, from which you can see the beartrap.
Most of the videos however where shot this summer on an scoutisland in the Baltic sea somewhere in between Sweden and Finland. This is called Vässarö. I worked there twice five weeks now.
I had my own bushcraft camp there; on a smaller uninhabited island nearby.
i agree that was about 40 degrees, he needs to half that, but depends what ya using it for, ive got one knife that i do grind at 45 degrees, but its for one specific perpose.

The circular movements are the finishing touch. The method is pretty effective. I can assure you.

how would that work tho?

I can't give you any technical explanation. I'm no scientist. I only know that if you do it that way you get quite a sharp knife.

I used to sharpen my knife like that, the blade lasts longer if you switch sides.
