The first responding officer did not, as he should have, go first to the person MAKING the complaint. Whether he and the "sprayer" were friends or not is a moot point. This is standard police procedure in most agencies.

In short, the behavior of the officers here serve to add to the hatred many people have of law enforcement authority. Do it by the book, or look for another profession.

The DA didn't prosecute because "no lasting damage was done." Again, moot point. (see more 2)

I'm a retired police officer and police administrator and here's the issue as I see it.

First, the man identified as the off-duty officer allegedly sprays vinegar in the face of this protester, who claims to be on public property. For the sake of this discussion, let's assume all the above is true.

If the man was sprayed with vinegar, an acid, he was not only assaulted, he was, technically, also "battered" (see more...)

The First Assembly of God Church member (off-duty cop) in this video is probably not truly born again although the denomination this church represents has a high, evangelistic, pro-life, missions active record (internationally- generally). The pastor of this church should highly rebuke this member (off-duty cop) and JOIN THE PRO-LIFERS next time. Actually, this-type of church would normally be on the "front lines" of the exact activity the pro-lifers were representing but they need revival!
