  • They are thin sheets of brass

  • Those crazy chinese...

  • This is amazing.

How do you get the other notes, are they harmonics?

  • ambient

  • The breathing really adds a cool groove at 0:43!

  • What a beautiful instrument!

I'm only familiar with my "traditional" jaw harp. Thanks for showing us some variety in unique instruments!

  • hey i have a 1920s jew harp and i dont no how to play it

    any help???

  • i think u use ur mouth as an echo hole and the blades r just to allow the air to vibrate and u use ur mouth also to control the pitch of the sound im just asuming if im wrong just correct me

  • no you've pretty much got it, though some jaw harps are held with the teeth or lips and a reed struck with the fingers/palm such as in the other videos this guy has.

  • depends on how its shaped

  • its cool but its kind of funny

  • do these harps smash your teeth like the usual ones do??

  • i saw ur vid its soo good

  • I gotta get me one of them!

  • from 36 sec to 1:05 i listen to i dont even know how many times over. it just sounds soo nice. i wsh i could do that. i only have a jaw harp and im a beginner lol

  • looks like three leaves, and sounds like you added in the sounds. (im just saying it LOOKS and SOUNDS)

  • I disagree.

  • i think the reeds are on the inside of the "leaves"

  • nope, no reeds just precussion...

  • wow much more versatile than most jaw harps I've seen

  • YES! I've been searching for someone who could do some nice overtone melodies! My search has come to an end. Thanks for the vid :D
