I have a standard fender precision, it is quite the bass, but I would recommend changing the strings to flatwounded strings! I prefer my Squier Jazz Bass ( Fender Jazz Bass copy ) when it comes to slapping and funky things, but when it comes to taping, sliding and groovy playing I prefer my Precision.
to be honest i dont see the fucking point of playing bass like youd play guitar. different instruments. wanna tap then play a guitar. bass is the funk..
when i see guys tapping and shredding with a pick, i cant help but think how pointless. tapping on a bass to me its like slapping and plucking on a guitar. would you do it?
i love bass as i love funk music however ive always felt that bassists feel inadequate as guitarist are always on the spotlight, bassist wanna make up for it with this shit
help me guys....I have a precision bass but it is not that sensitive tat wen i tap on the fret board, it wun sound...y?is it because I made my strings low-profile or do i need to change the old stock pickups?
Thanx for the videos, i was inspired by a victor wooten interview and im self teaching myself, but your videos are giving me a great place to start. so thanx again and the flea video is great.
This guy abducted me from doing my homework once and i didn't have anything to hand in that day... and what was so important to take me away from my work? getting fries at Pank.
You 2 must be brothers, you quarrel just like brothers will, nothing like a love-hate realtionship, trust me i know with 2 bros and a sister. LOL rock on!
Sweetness. Thanks guys. Can't wait for more Bass-o-riff-ic videos! And I'm not sure when was the last time that you heard, but in case it was a while. You guys rock!
Let's face it, the bassist is always the coolest, most level-headed person in the band. Bassists FTW!!!!!!!
