My parents lived through the depression. They will tell you Roosevelt saved their lives. Mother said they were all so scared they would starve, and how much calm and hope he brought to them with his fireside chats. She said a calm would come over the house when they would here his voice. He was not elected to 4 terms 4 nothing. They loved him dearly.

WWII did create the push needed to get the U.S. back to high employment levels, but most of those were government jobs in the military which left a gigantic void in the private sector labor pool at home. Many of those private sector wartime jobs were manufacturing armaments which put the remaining civilian population to work were entirely fueled by government spending.
Ameica's big wars were won by liberal presidents - the Civil War (yes, Lincoln was a liberal), WWI & WWII.

Expanding government is bad when the government does nothing for you. FDR the man who turned a stock market crash under Hoover, caused by the Federal Reserve (sound familiar?), into over a ten year depression (sounding familiar?) with his socialist programs and regulations. The depression didn't end until the end of WWII when FDR was dead and the government, so deeply in debt, had to put an end to most of its New Deal Programs.

I would direct you sir to read Article I, Section 8, parts 1, 14 & 18. These give the power to Congress, being a member of the Federal Govt. to enact measures to provide for the general welfare of the American people. As a matter of fact, part 1 states this explicitly: "...to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States..." I am very much a civil libertarian and view the BOR as sacred, but FDR didn't do anything overtly unconstitutional.

Roosevelt, who wanted to help the warcriminal Churchill to destroy Germany, not only started attacking German ships and soldiers.
He also slaughtered 600 000 - 800 000 innocent German children and women in German cities. However, Germany had never attacked any American city - America has wiped out nearly all German cities.
The City of Dresden was undefended - overcrowded with 500 000 refugees. Roosevelt and Churchill attacked all these unarmed people - mainly children and mothers.

You forgot to mention that germany was an ally with the japanese and that it was destroying and killing people accross europe.who knows after Britain fells that the fuhrer's army wasn't going to cross the atlantic. No apology man.he did what he had to do to stop your people that had become insane

I am by no means saying that this was justified, but your loved leader Hitler was a racist SOB and was about to wipe out the entire Jewish race. If we had continued letting him and Mussolini to get power, we would all be speaking German or Italian and would be ruled by Fascist Totalitarian Dictators who would kill anyone they wanted. Hitler also relentlessly attacked British cities who were undefended, and seeing as though the Germans at that time were far more powerful than Britain, we helped

Roosevelt started the war with Germany - not the other way round. He kept attacking German? ships in the North sea, without declaration of war.
Just like Roosevelt was the aggressor in the European war, he also blocked Japanese Oil transports. Japan was not very patient and sent him a "War warning". Roosevelt ignored this warning, because he was waiting for the Japanese Attack, to make it look like "bad japan" is attacking "good" America.

You seem to read a history book that was writen in your own room. the war started in 1939 and britain was sucked in after poland fell. After france, the next target was Britain.You wanted them to wait until they are invaded. No way man.Sorry about that.You started it and you got paid for it!

Roosevelt was a lousy politician; weak, naive, shortsighted. He was licking Stalins´ boots whenever he could. As a result half of Europe fell to the Soviets. Thank God Churchill wasn´t such a foolish dilettante.
