It's all personal preference but killing the protectors and strikers in the living rock caverns are better melee experience. I realize the caverns were released after this guide was made but it's just a suggestion.

It's called a pure set btw. And this isn't the fastest melee exp. Having melee brawlers with sacred clay melee armor + whip got me 200k exp in about half an hour.

Melee brawlers aren't really that hard to get. But it's more of something for someone when they are close to a 99 skill. I know because I've used to get 3 99s. :)

Unless I'm being really stupid, melee brawlers are hard to get as they are a drop from PVP. Brawlers are a relatively rare drop(ish) and the chances you will get a melee brawler is like 1 in every 10 brawlers you get, so really you might aswell be training for the amount of time it takes to get the brawlers (or not get them as the case may be.) XD

Yes, you only have to get about half way through the defender of varrock quest. I'd just complete all of the quest just to get it out of the way.

Dh wont work here because you can only pray one prayer, and there are 2 types of zombies, melee and range and if you get attacked by a melee while praying range, ull prob die

Continueing on my other comment...

After 88 mins (2 bunyips) I usually had a full invy of keep stuff, making around 150k profit a trip.

Also, if you have lower def, use excalibur, enchanted is best, but normal is just fine, as theres not really any other use for your spec bar, unless you use dba... but thats just a waste imo, super str is just fine, with no loss to attack.

Nice guide, I used zombs whenever i wanted fast exp. I used a different method though...

I half tanked them (no protect, only piety), which is best imo, using bunyip.

I wore a verac skirt and the same armor you had, but i only brought 2 bunyip, and 2 sup attack/str.

Since bunyip lasts 44 minutes, i just drank a dose of each every 11 minutes, keeping it simple. :P

I easily topped off at 100k exp/hour, and im only 88 str.

Piety + salve(e) + super set = awesome

U can get an average of about 75k exp an hour down there so yeah it's pretty good exp... Oh an for people that don't know the salve ammy does extra damage against undead so If u combine it with piety u can hit massively high on these zombies giving u more exp per hour

You would be hitting 0's often and you would get hit for damage quite often when you had to switch prayers after they hit you.

LOL read what he said first. Most people who search for combat guides look for strength guides. Besides, you can train strength with whip anyways. 99 strength in the title is to specify if the players don't know what melee exp actually means. They might think it's strictly attack or something.
