  • I've just got my first-ever Malamute, Alfie, he's five months old now. House training is taking a while, but obedience training has been pretty easy, he stays, comes when called, and sits. He's great with other dogs, really good-tempered and friendly with people. I've always had Newfoundlands before him, they're the most sweet-natured dogs in the world, but Aflie come close.

  • what a beautiful animal ! she has beautiful markings under her eyes !

  • @0:42 wow I couldn't pull that epic dance spin thing off xD

  • 0:42 is the best thing my life has ever experienced. <3

  • Does a Malamute love snow?

Is a snake's ass close to the ground?

  • he/she is so cute and happy! my dog (also a malamute) gets like that with the first snow of the winter, but again she's very happy about life in general..

  • "i'm gonna catch a snowflake. i'm gonna catch a SNOWFLAKE!!!"

  • this is so beautiful ;-; and cute hehe

  • nice camera its seems like its shot in 3d

  • look how happy she is cute x

  • Awwwww, she looks so happy!

  • My malamute has blue eyes because he's a breed between Husky and Malamute. Such a beautiful puppy! Some say if malamutes have blue eyes, there might be a big chance that it has sight problems. Mine doesn't, I know.

  • E.T go home

  • He is BEAUTIFUL!! And all Mal! I can't wait for it to snow so I can see what my Chinook will do! He just turned 6 months!

  • I thought I get bad bags under my eyes!

  • Arctic breeds are awesome had 2 huskys only time they weren't panting was when they were in the snow. They can lie down in the snow in sub zero temps, and seem perfectly comfortable.

  • aww big cute furry doggy

  • LOL Suka in russian mean bitch :D

Sheee is amazing! I love those dogs

  • Do Malamutes require near enough the same amount of attention as a Husky would?? Huskys need to go on our long walks as they were made for pulling heavy things alone for hours. Are Malamutes the same? It's also a beautiful dog! :)

  • @joep45621 We acquired both a Mal and a husky after a daughter's divorce when they no longer had a home. Both breeds were wonderful companions and loved exercise. I would never walk without them, and even trained them to walk nicely on retractable leashes as a "team". With my command of "get together" they would line up side by side like soldiers. They were an exquisite sight and would always get attention when we walked. They both loved and needed a lot of brushing so beware.

  • my dogdid the same things :D

  • It's so adorable how she doesn't know what it is, just that it feels so right!

  • Wow, that is a lot of snow, and what a beautiful dog. :)

  • i can just imagine him saying .... i feel like i was meant for this

  • OMG Mommy look at all this weird white stuff everywhere!! It's awesome!!!

  • Beautiful dog and wonderful video, but I think the way you defined the difference between malamutes and huskies might be a little bit biased =) Personally, I prefer descriptions that are strictly based on facts about breed standards and not conjecture, such as your description of their personalities. Also, not all huskies have blue eyes. Again, great video.

  • Makes me miss my malamute SO much, her name was Suka as well :'(

Malamutes are simply the best dog I've ever owned!

  • awww so cute almost looks like my malamute i just got @ age 3 named Apollo!!!

  • shes so happpppy

  • Lovely girl!

Do you happen to know her bloodlines? It's a little difficult for me to fully gauge (due to her case of the "happy-zoomies") from the video, but her structure looks quite nice :-)

  • Beautiful dog! What's the difference between a Malamute and a husky??

  • @LightingInvoker Thanks.

Alaskan malamutes are bigger, stronger and more of an endurance dog/wolf. And they always have brown eyes.

While huskies are smaller, skinnier, more agitated some might say hyperactive and they have blue eyes (at least one). A siberian husky comes the closest to a malamute but their is still a big difference.

I prefer malamutes due to their calmer nature and those beautiful brown eyes.

  • @nickdeclercq this one doesnt seem so calm lol =)

  • @nickdeclercq Thanks :) I think they're beautiful!

  • @nickdeclercq LOL i have brown eyes :) but i think your malamute's eyes r better :)

  • @nickdeclercq haha, i completely agree. also for the person that asked.. malamutes tend to have their tail curled up where as the huskys tail is straight. i adore malamutes though!

  • @TheRhythmSociety Both Siberian Huskies and Malamutes can have curled or straight tails. My mal had a mostly straight tail, with just a tiny curve, called a sickle.

  • @nickdeclercq pretty dog, but i believe your wrong on the endurance aspect of malamutes, while bigger and able to carry heavier loads, the husky is by far a better endurance and agility breed and will always be used as such. hyperactive and agitated...yes if if you own one just to show how pretty he is to your friends!!

  • @nickdeclercq We had a siberian husky with brown eyes.

  • @nickdeclercq My Malemute has Honey colored eyes and he's AKC registered. They don't always come in brown eyes :P

  • i have a deep dark grey 4 year old malamute called nanuk. its inuit for bear :D

  • i love this cause this is the dog im gonna be gettin soon (:

  • What a glorious "first snow" experience for your beautiful Suka. So awesome that you have it on video. My 3 babies reacted the same way their first time. (A Keeshond, American Eskimo & Alaskan Malamute). They loved the snow from the minute they stepped in it. My Malamute goes gaga when he sees snow, so I can't wait for him to experience it this winter.

  • CUTE,,,

  • awwwwww gotta love expression of animals first snow =)

  • Pretty much how my malamute was last year :] very cute!!

  • what a sweetie! so happy for snow :)

  • You have a beautiful garden O.o

    This video is adorable :)

  • He sure is having a blast in the snow LoLs

  • "Suka" in Indonesian means "to like" or "to love"

I hope you love her as much as I love this video :D

  • "AWESOME! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! LOOK, IT IS RAINING AWESOME!"

  • in what part of what country is this

  • Your malamute looks very cute! But..."suka" means "female dog" or "bitch" in russian :D

One question - is it so difficult to train a good-mannered malamute?

  • @RuLooper Suka is Iniut for fast.

Malamutes have a character of their own, and they are good-mannered from nature.

But if you mean sit here and stay here for a while, then you will need to spend lots of time training.

Tip: They will learn much quicker with treats, but in my case if you stop giving treats (as suggested by the dog school) she stops listening.

  • @nickdeclercq Can Suka destroy smth? Or mb she used to? Is Suka your first dog?)

  • @nickdeclercq Suka may mean fast in Inuit but it literally also means bitch in Russian. Im afraid more people prolly know the Russian word for Suka more than the Inuit word....

  • @nickdeclercq I'm a vet. There is nothing wrong with treats for training.

  • THIS VIDEO MELTS MY HEART. I LOST BOTH OF MY DOGS (SIBERIAN HUSKEY AND A MALAMUTTE) IN A DIVORCE IN 2007.

  • I have an 8 month old giant mal and I cannot wait until our 1st snow of the year! He is going to be so happy! =)

  • my dog bark to the snow haha

  • its so cool that most dog videos have no dislikes whatsoever , every dog is awesome in its own way. my favorite breeds are the Boxers, the A. Malamutes and the Jack Russel Terriers. ive had a boxer and now a jack, never had a malamute tho.

  • fun, onze malamute flipt ook zo zot van sneeuw ( van zand ook trouwens)

  • 0:41

    lol nice trick!

  • That is so great I almost can't stand it. My girl would still greet the snow that way even as she aged and her legs started to fail her. I remember her last winter I was greeting the first snow with her getting her to chase me and her legs gave out and she went face first into chest deep snow. I felt bad but both of us ended up laughing and I ended up scooping her up and tramping down areas that were easier for her to walk through. Truly are a joy to have around. Even when they play tricks

  • alaskan malamutes are so pretty

  • I can just picture mine doing the exact same xD

  • It's strange, if he is a male, because suka (szuka) means bitch in Hungarian (as in dog gender) :)

  • alaskan malamutes are so adorable! and your dog look so happy! great work for being such a loyal pet owner!

  • So funny it is so cute

  • Ma-an. I wish I could be that happy sometimes! Beautiful dog.

  • Jajaja my alskan malamute also is named Suka, she has 2 1/2 months!

  • Beautiful mal you have. Your very lucky. They sure do love the snow!

  • I have 8- month old pup just like this one

  • he sure was dressed 4 it

  • my boy is nearly 1 year old and never seen the snow so i cant wait to take him to the mountain when its winter here, i just no hes gonna love it! :)

  • Beautiful dog, you know she is getting back to her roots and even if she has never been in the snow before you can totally tell she is a true Alaskan Malamute.

Having trouble deciding whether to pick up an Alaskan Malamute or an Akita Inu. Both are incredibly intelligent, but the Akita is less friendly with strangers, and the Malamute more stubborn.

Did you have any real problems training this one?

  • I finally got a chance to make a video of Vidar playing in his 1st snao experience as well. he went crazy!

  • my malimutes name is suka too!

  • this is also going to be the first time my Malamute is going to experience snow! he turns 10 months next week.

  • Awww, he is so happy. U can tell he loves the snow. He is beautiful. My baby is going to be 7 months next week!

  • @Artacus74 Now that it is snowing again, she cannot wait to go out and play, again.

Have fun with your dog this winter, I know I will with mine.

  • @Artacus74 EVERY TIME I SEE A MALAMUTE I ALWAYS REMEMBER MY MALAMUTE......HE LOVED THE SNOW AND PLAYING IT IN ESPEICALLY WHEN IT STARTED SNOWING.....AND ONE GAME WE ALWAYS PLAYED WITH HIM WAS MAKING SNOW TRACKS IN THE SNOW AND HE WOULD ALWAYS RUN THROUGH THEM.....THEY ARE BES BREED TO HAVE AS A FAMILY MEMBER......WITH LOTS OF LOVE THEY CAN LIVE A LONG TIME........

  • Awww I remember my qtip back when he was young playing in the snow!! Cute Video!

  • our malamute does this every day. she never get's bored of it lol

  • Beautiful video thanks absolutely wonderful !

  • That is touching! Here you have the joy of life

  • He/She reminds me of my first Alaskan Malamute, Sitka. You have a beautiful dog there. :)
