I am not a scholar but I was curious about big bang and quran. Quran does have some verses which explicitly refer to big bang and the theory of expanding universe. I guess,we need to be more liberal. Religious books like Bibel, Quran, torah does have some information which directly support modern science. I've a huge interest to know about scientific interpretation of bible, quran, torah etc btw, he is a doctorate and professor of Geology. But I'm interested to know these stuff frm a physicist
dude this guy lectured in University of Wales, University of California and also a fellow of several scientific societies in middle east and america.. good to see that you have the guts to call him stupid!
@MrNoname0000 What is he lecturing in? Religion no doubt, he has limited understanding of real science, and is perfectly happy to add wildly inaccurate new interpretations of arabic words and put that together with a childrens science book explanation of the big bang in order to try to make the quran look more truthful...
IT IS like stealing candy from a child, i mean come on, what were the heavens joined with? there was no earth to begin with.
We also know that talking is done through certain areas in the brain (I think it is called Burca's area) which I believe clouds do not have...just saying.
What kind of a Dr. is this DR ZAGHLOUL EL NAGGAR, if he spouts such nonsense and invents words in the Koran, rewriting it? "We are currently expanding it" is in the Koran? Musi'oon is a verb meaning to expand?
A singularity is "smoke"? Heavens and Earth were never united and clouds never talked. The Big Bang is not a scientific theory, but a model.
@StopSpamming1 The word used in the Qur'an is "la-musi'oon" which means surely we shall be expanding it, which gives the current, constant and continueos tense.
About "smoke" or "dukhan" it is not singular nor plural is can be used for both, like in English you can't say smokes, or airs...
As for "heavens & hearth were never united" is this just an invention you made in your mind or is this based on proof or science...
@StopSpamming1 "Clouds never talk", hello they don't have a mouth and ears and brains like we have but every creation God controls and moves by his orders.
@StopSpamming1 Let me just clarify something you mixed two verses and stages together, the verse which explains the big bang goes:
(Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? and of water We made ever living thing, Will they not then believe?) (21:30)
This is the first stage, & once God parted them each became seperate from the other, then formed them & brought them along with each other.
@StopSpamming1 Here came the smoke part, the heavens were as smoke after the bang happened:
(Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth: "Come both of you, willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We come both, in obedience.") (41:11)
You say speaking clouds, first its the heavens and earth, second Allah describes to us things in a way we may understand, He said he told it... and it said... but that doesn't mean the talking you may know, which we use...
@StopSpamming1 ...all creatures have means of communication with each other, and a mean of comunication with their Lord each way differs. You are only understanding the vocal way which we use, we are only ONE from the many creations of God, God understands us all, but we might not understand each other, so God is expaining to us humans in a way we understand, get it?
@StopSpamming1 God tells us in varius places in the Qur'an, He creates or makes anything by only the order of "Be!" or merely just willing, and immediately= it is. So the verse saying "come willingly or unwillingly" that is a clear stern order for them to come together it also expresses power and might that is what God means when He says: (And the heaven We have built with might, and We it is who are steadily expanding it) (51:47).
@StopSpamming1 "we come both in obedience" that tells the part= it immediately was, and they came smoothly mingling with each other by God's order. So it doesn't necessarily mean they are sitting making conversation, Always understand how the Arabic works and how the Qur'an style is, it goes in a semi poetic style which increases its beauty so such expressions are normal.
Subhan Allah..

So many mistakes by a Dr.?

If you want to re-interpret and re-translate the Koran, be my guest.
Smoke is not equal to the singularity the Big Bang emerged from. I was not referring to grammar, but science and the model of the Big Bang.
It is a fact that heavens can be whatever you want and was never "joined" with anything. If you can show me otherwise I am prepared to learn.
You only see what you believe so talking clouds are no problem for you. For me it makes it a children's fairy tale.
