  • We must all question ourselves about what we are gifted instead of being envious... I'm still envious about the beauty and the talent of these women !

  • These girls are amazing and very funky .....MORE FANTASTIC ´80´s music at my channel!!!!

  • Wow, didn't know Wendy and Lisa made such quality material together. Although you hear they have a history with Prince all through this, it's good!

  • Hell yeah!!! That's grove baby!!!!

  • download white flags of winter chimneys, bloody brill!!!

  • My name is Wendy, and my sisters name is Lisa..

  • I jammed this song all thru college!! Few knew about this funk gem...

  • They's re doing an incredible job with their soundtracks !! and yes, I'm not a big fan of Prince without the Revolution...

  • but you forget "sign o' the times" really great double album with many masterpieces without wendy and lisa

  • @sinobscene Wendy and Lisa were still around for some of the tracks on Sign..

  • Prince lost his funk when he lost these girls...damn...funk on!!!

  • @urgirltracey I agree!

  • @urgirltracey

Haha, funniest thing I've ever read! Have you heard Prince after 86? Doesn't seem like that after that remark

  • @urgirltracey I agree about Wendy & Lisa being a hidden creative force in most of Prince's 80s material up to 1986, and although their own material remains continuously brilliant and funky as hell, Prince has managed without them in his own right - releasing some pretty damn good albums ("Sign O' the Times", "The Black Album" and "Lovesexy" plus selections from "Graffiti Bridge" still in the 80s to start with...

  • @urgirltracey ... and then at random - "Musicology", "Emancipation", "Diamonds and Pearls" or "3121"... yes, most other of his albums remain a result of his hyperproductivity which sadly suffered great deal of quality material... but I still respect Prince for his artistic output because he is no poser in what he does...

  • @urgirltracey not true not true not true you are being dramatic

  • @urgirltracey but they are both great I LOVE THEIR WORK

  • Brilliant ( who is that appalling short Porto Rican man?)

  • LunaSeaSane thanks for the information about Wendy and Lisa scoring the hit TV show HEROES I will look for it the next time it comes on. And by the way woman has and always will be promoted sexy female in the music business not just in the 80s. You too must have giving this a lot of thought too for that great definition of what a girl bad is LOL. Hear your music on MYSPACE I like that better then Wendy and Lisa keep up the good work and get a better mic.

  • You're welcome jxm969.

    Regarding out efforts, thank you.

You know, better mp3 resolution wouldn't hurt either...

But just try watching a few 80s interviews and you'll see the difference. Not all of course (there were some decent journalists doing their job) but there was this massive amosphere of:

"Aw... cute little thing, 'aincha? And plays, too! Now isn't that special?"

After a while, you feel like saying:

    "Dude! She's a girl, not a 3 year old..."

  • And lets be real prince have song like lets work, alphabet st head, wanna be your lover, little red corvette, uptown, and why you wanna treat me so bad. All of the song name here was played produce by prince.

And if wendy and lisa are so good were are they now ? Prince and still out there in the public eye.

  • You obviously require a lot of thought:

    1) In the 80s, women were promoted as "sexy", not "serious" which made it much harder on serious female musicians, than male musicians.

    2) Has it ever ocurred to you that perhaps they didn't want it? Not everyone is up for that much popularity.

    3) Wendy and Lisa scored film, got an award for it, scored the TV hit show HEROES, among others and last year, they just put out a great new album. And you probably watched the show they scored.

  • Reply to LunaSeaSane: Good remarks!

  • Again, my thanks Selina4.

  • You can see rare photographs and new interviews with friends, confidants, fellow musicians and other people close to Prince, the program sheds light on one of the industry's most innovative and influential artists.

  • Your crazy if you think they add to prince sound. Prince best song were before they came, he was 17 year old when he came out with his first album. Prince played all the music to the albums and later on started letting them lay track down only after telling them how to play it. If you really want some background on this

  • A girl band is what one calls a female performance artist pop group. Doesen't take much knowledge in music to realise two things:

    These people are musicians.

    The bassplayer is male.

  • Reply to LunaSeaSane: And again - well said!

  • Thank you, Selina4.

  • ROTFL laughing.

Yeah right. Ever wonder why Princes music made a turn towards worse?

These two leaving him. Go do the research. They weren't part of his harem, they contributed to his work as musicians and writers.

    lol.

  • SQUENTY,...they've been working together for a lifetime,..it would be kind of silly if she (had'nt) been heavily influenced by "his royal badness" by now? not to mention wendy in her own right is undeniably sexy, and (already) gifted in the first place,....the fact that prince has rubbed off on her only makes her even more of a delicious treat to watch,...she is mesmerizing,....we just never knew how much because we could'nt take our eyes off a (sexpot) that goes by the name of prince!

  • Wow! I love Wendy and Lisa!

  • sorry i'm back ,but the first 30 seconds.. i would give a leg for such an intro..and you've got people who think Mr Timberlake as talent???

  • OH MY GOD hOW FUNKY CAN YOU GET ,,,,,,,,,,??? nOT!!! They could!! This is premiun dancestuff. best funk by whities

  • that's what I call that gangster funk ! keep it funky ladies!

  • my mate Shola used to play this big time back in 92 in his E reg 325i BMW.

    Go Shola!!!

  • what female talent actually sounds like.

  • the guitar player still sexy and she can play her ass of still have a shcool boy crush on her blacker7 keep rocken girl got my vote here some budda love nam-myoho-renge-koy chow

  • WHO IS THE DRUMMERRRRRRRRRRRR I want to marry her please someone can tell me

  • The drummer is Carla Azar. She's in Autolux now.

  • prince wrote and produced this song.

  • No My Friend that was all Wendy & Lisa that was the one distinction they did not desire. A true fan would know!!! Peace!!

  • If you listen to the song, "wht do want me to do girl, " on Prince's Musicology, there are similarities with this song. I suspect they either wrote it, or he tributed them with the song.

WENDY LOOKED SO SEXY BACK IN THOSE DAYS!!!

  • Love that 80's sound

  • Actually wendy and lisa did more than be in The Revolution they also contributed to songs like PoP Life, songs from purple Rain (including the song itself), the Parade album, Sign Of the Times and few unnamed songs. These women are amazingly talented and wonderful. Have you heard the remix to Paisley Park the remix with them?

  • No, Wendy & Lisa didn't write Purple Rain. Wendy said so in an interview on the Purple Rain Bluray disc.

  • Question: Does the BluRay version of Purple Rain have the audio glitch near the beginning when Jerome says "So sexy" twice? If it doesn't, I may have to finally invest in a BluRay player.

  • Yes, they are very talented.

Yes, I knew that they did write Mountains. One the best songs off that album.

I agree with U moonchile71. The Girl Bros album is amazing. It is one of my favorites. Wendy and Lisa are talented underrated musicians. I have every album that they have released. Wendy and Lisa produce wonderful works of art.

  • Oltre che essere due musiciste coi controcazzi sono due gnocche esagerate...

Se Wendy mi facesse la stessa domanda "Want you be my man" non le darei il tempo di rispondere!!!

    Respect...

  • Wow didn't know they had so many videos! Love LOve LOVE Wendy & Lisa!! You should check out their Girl Bros album, came out early 2000,. They are of some the most underrated musicians , simply brilliant !

  • One of my alltime favorites!!!

  • loved em....superb musicians.

    thanks for posting!

  • OMG!!! Only 200 looks?? Man, W & L need more looks than this. They are classy and very talented people. Thanks for posting this video. I love me some W & L.

  • Excellent! thanks ILANUDO for posting. This Wendy and Lisa, the proteges of Prince? Great tune.

  • they were as influential on prince as he was on them

for example do you realise they wrote 'mountains'?

  • I wouldn't then proteges, they were talented musicians in their own right long before they hooked up with Prince. That goes for Sheila E as well. Save the "protege" label for Vanity, Appollonia, and Jill Jones.

  • Noted, with thanks, originalwharris.

  • @originalwharris, Jill Jones was a serious musician as well. She wrote most of her Paisley Park album herself, including stand-out track Violet Blue

  • I stand corrected. :-)
