  • I have a ring that cant be destroyed that way .. tried to destroy it with hammers and shit .. itsmade of Cubic boron nitride .. is that expensive `???

  • This is great!!!! I work in a body shop and always wonder what if I smack my hand with a hammer while working on a car!!!!!!!" Sweet!! Thanks!!!

  • whoops, slipped.... smashed the finger.... I'm sorry......

  • @DelenorFoxfyre Heh... nah, it won't happen because the threads of the vise screw are so close together. Hence, a full turn of the screw means very little horizontal movement. Because your finger has fat, you can squeeze it ¼ inch without any pain. Try squeezing your finger where a ring normally is. Tungsten, however, is so hard that there is no flexibility. It'll crack with much much less than ¼" of movement.

You can use a desk vise like this or vise pliers.

  • I'm sooo glad you guys posted this. Now I can tell all my misinformed friends at work that Tungsten Carbide rings not only rock, but are safe as well.

I also have to admit I was a little uneasy about a ring soo strong as well but now..... it's shopping time. Thanks sooo much, I'm spreading the good word.

  • This is good to know in case your finger is hurt. Also the vice grip method works very well if you don't have a vise laying around.
