i hate how this band's being christian affects who listens to them. im not too huge on religion myself, but i love this band. and i think if you like the sound then who the fuck cares.. am i right ? ^.^
exactly, i listen to this stuff sometimes, I'm into black metal and it pisses me off when certain religions say things like that about black metal, and not listen to it, if it sounds good to you that's all that should matter, the bands religious views shouldn't.
You are partially correct...however, if they have lyrics that are anti-God or Christian, and you are a Christian, then you ought not to listen to it ('twould be disrespectful to God, who you claim to serve and worship)
@Dhaelgraeve well what if you didn't know it was anti god or christian, i mean i can't really understand the vocals and dissections firts 2 albums had no satanic concept or lyrics but jon nodviedt was definitely satanic, i don't see how it would be a sin to not agree with something but still listen to the music of it, but don't get me wrong, im not a christian or have any belief in any christain or god based religion
Well, if a Christian suspects that the band or lyrics are Satanic, he or she has a responsibility to check them out.
The reason why we Christians shouldn't listen to Satanic/evil songs is....a PR directive from God, you could say :D If we act like the rest of the world and have no problem with evil in our lives, then non-believers will think we are really no different from them, and thus, would make it pointless to seek God and become Christians themselves.
@Dhaelgraeve ehhh I'm almost certain God isn't gunna damn people to hell for listening to anti-religious music.... other wise we'd all see each other in hell :p
I wasn't talking about anti-religious, I was talking about anti-God lyrics.
Whether or not such things would damn a person to Hell, I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine that listening to music that slanders our God would make Him happy...
