  • Kunnar. How's the BMW going?

  • @09SRILANKA Happy New Year !! Good to hear from you. BMW passed the technical inspection and is road legal. Even passed emissions control. I made few road trips in august. But has been sitting since then and waits for another summer to come around.

  • @Kunnarr. Happy New Year to you. Good to hear the BMW is doing fine. I still hav'nt bought one yet but we have just had another baby so i had to get a 7 seater!! Don't think ill be getting one for some time as my kids are aged 8, 6, 4 & 5 weeks. Keeping them in food & clothes is breaking the bank. Have a great 2012, lets hope the World is not in as much chaos as in 2011.

  • my 1986 528e handles good in the snow

  • Forgot to say they're bloody terrible in the snow!

  • @09SRILANKA

I agree. It needs at least 50kg of load in the trunk. I did almost 360 with a trailer (at Christmas 08') because it was too light at the rear end. Got lucky, no damage.

  • @Kunnarr. The 525e is 90 kilos lighter kerb weight than my Renault Scenic 1.5 diesel. 525e weighs in at 1250 kilo and scenic at 1340 kilo! Its ever likely these BMWs are reasonably quick off the mark. Had a 525 e years ago, great cars. Im looking for one now but most are gone.

  • @09SRILANKA This one is our family treasure since 94' . But its future is unknown, because we do not know what to do with it. We do not have place to store it. It has 300Tkm on the odometer. A while ago 1. cylinder exhaust valve drop off, broke the piston and damaged cylinder head. Now i am in the search of a spare cylinder head and piston. Hope to get it running soon!

  • @Kunnarr. Im currently looking to buy a 535i, one owner car with low miles. Its a show stopper but its going to be very expensive £4500 which is top money but its perfect! Wanted a 525e as theyre just superb lazy cars, very retro too! Do your best to keep yours on the road, it has covered big miles. Good luck in your search for engine/parts.

  • @09SRILANKA Thank you, I will do my best to keep it on the road.

Good luck in your search for 535i - crate engine, lots of torque considering light weight e28 body/frame.

  • @Kunnarr. Hi its Sri Lanka hows your search gone for your parts for your E...

  • @09SRILANKA I bought a spare cylinder head, which is in good condition. But no luck with the piston. I am going to buy a spare 525e 92kw engine very soon and change all 6 pistons. Since mine 90kw has low compression 9:1 and 92kw has high compression 11:1 - i might run into some difficulties (detonation, rough idle, ...) Pictures will come soon!!

  • @Kunnarr. Good to hear from you, good luck with your other bits, you must message me with your video, my search continues !

  • @Kunnarr. Forgot to say its an e28 535i auto! Its got to be an e28, theyre the best saloon car out there.

  • I like these 525 e E28s they are just great relaxing drivers especially with the auto box. Good mpg too, big solid and retro, just great.
