This is not the English national anthem , it is the anthem of the U.K and commonwealth countries. England is the only part of the U.K which does not have an anthem so only borrows the U.K anthem instead.

The title of this video is wrong. England does not actually have a national anthem. Instead we use the British National Anthem, God Save the Queen, which is a pile of shite. We need OUR OWN national anthem. For me it would have to be Jerusalem.

@Adschi2010 They did use Jerusalem for the English anthem in the Commonwealth Games and it was a disaster. It went on for ages, no one knew the words and it didn't sound particularly uplifting or inspiring.

not quite true, the UK wasnt in threat of invasion from Nazi Germany after 1940, and the battle of britain ended. that battle however allowed the US the finally enter and use the UK as a staging ground for D-Day alongside, Britain and Canada. so no you are not the reason, you are only part of the reason.
