@jandolom1 paano mo nalaman na pinoy ako?:p hehehe. yes, puede mo itong gawin kahit wala kang SD Card. download it to your internal SD card or internal storage. Tapos off mo yung phone. Tapos hold power button, volume up button, and home button at the same time until you reach the screen with orange text. Then with the volume buttons, choose "Install zip from sdcard", and select that using home button. Tapos "choose zip from sd card". Then choose the cyanogen build that you put in the card.
@jandolom1 VERY IMPORTANT: in the screen with orange text, make sure that you "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition". Also go to "advanced" and "Wipe Dalvik Cache". Pagkatapos nun, diyan ka na puede mag install from sdcard. hope this helps.
How do you like this versus Litening Rom? I just bought a Galaxy S2, but it's locked and I figure I have to root the thing to free myself from Bell. I was leaning towards the Litening ROM (I love the look of your phone in your other video), but it's all new to me and I really don't know to be honest.
@furbe I actually like CM7 much better than Litening Rom because of the no nonsense, minimal approach that that CM7 has. Litening ROM is great, don't get me wrong. My only problem with is was that I had to figure out which kernel I should use to help the battery life, I used ninphetamine for a while and then i used speedmod kernel. then with updates, I had to switch between the two because of incompatibility or just better performance from one over the other. CM7 is consistent and great!
@furbe oh congrats on the purchase, btw:) you will find it's an awesome phone no matter what people say. I went to this after years of being on the iPhone and I am really impressed and satisfied with the purchase, good stuff in this unit. additionally, i have found CM7 helps to make the display a little better with the dithering. Only drawback for now is that since it's still in kind of a beta phase, I have found myself updating to the latest almost every day:p i hope they release final soon.
The 11 GB /sdcard partition won't have magically changed size. There might be more space for apps though. Also, it might have been nice to actually show what works and what doesn't. I.e.: * GPS * Wifi * Bluetooth * Bluetooth L2CAP, which is needed for using Wiimotes/PS3 controllers. * Compass, Gyros, Accelerometers * Other sensors (light sensor, proximity sensor). * HDMI out * Hardware video playback (1080p etc) * OpenGL
@TimmmmCam yeah, I was stupidly hoping the partition size would change:p hm, yeah, good idea. bluetooth is still in the works and everything is working although the implementation is not stutter free. I should have recorded that, yeah! maybe in another life:p I've switched back to a frankenstein stock rom with ninphetamine kernal:p CM7 is great! just not perfect yet hehehe.
It's a good rom but the you'll be giving up kernels like Nit 2.0.5 and Tegrak so you can overclock or undervolt which is kinda the negative part until a developer starts creating a supported kernel of it.
@ThisLadChanny yeah, those were a couple of the reasons I didn't get on Cyanogen earlier but everything seems to be more stable, just keeping an eye on the log changes. hopefully they will allow for support of other kernels in the future that can save battery life substantially.
dude.. how is the call quality? is it any good when one is stuck in a traffic jam and boss is calling?
