You are wrong, Akuma is Ryu's father. To prove this, watch the video Street Fighter Alpha: Generations. It takes a glimpse into akuma's past and shows his 'love' and proves how she's pregnant. But Akuma killed the master by embracing the dark hadou and ran off, leaving the pregnant mother behind. Gouken raised the child (which is ryu), making Gouken Ryu's uncle.
This also explains why the dark hadou has a much stronger tie to Ryu than Ken, and why Akuma is so interested in Ryu.

I can beat him on full stars (toughest mode for Computer) fairly easy with Makoto. I either kick Gill's ass or he kicks mine. The trick is to HP Hayate (QCF) him from a far distance, and keep repeating it except on the 2nd time it must be LP considering your close to him. But you can't repeat it fast, it has to be timed not perfectly, but well enough. He migth block at times and you'll lose, but thats how I beat him.
ok I like the sf alpha gen. art work better because akuma is way more scarier in that 1. but i like how serious and how sharp and clean the art is new 1 is. if only sf alpha gen.had been serious and had more characters in it, than it would have done better. sf alpha gen.2 coming soon............

Akuma set his eyes on Ryu afterwards because Akuma thinks Ryu will be the one who might be able to give him a great fight to the death.

messatsu is the spelling...uh... I think its mesatsu. Dunno. but it's a Denjin Hadouken that Ryu's doing in the end, because hes actually focusing on controlling it. A messatsu hadouken is using the full extent of the hadouken to kill in one shot. Ryu's simply amping up a hadouken to his maximum potential.
Only Ken was little annoying. Ryu and Akuma are so much more powerful than Ken, that Ken actually wouldn't help Ryu in his battle with Akuma, but would be an annoyance.
Well then why try to connect the logic of anime series w/ this trailer? The series is actually very far from the logic of the games. It had Ryu learning the hadoken from Dhalsim and Fei Long learning Jeet Kune Do from Chun Li's father. It also had the pussiest version of Balrog ever.
I don't remember Ken ever being stronger. I remember Ken only beating Ruy, when Ryu wasn't himself. In original storyline, Ryu defeated Sagat.
We all know that the power within them, Ken cannot compare with Ryu, it's a no contest. Like Akuma said, when Ryu unleashes that power, all becomes joke, including Ken.
Ken is only annoyance to the power that Ryu and Akuma possesses.

Ken won't be able to reach the same level as Ryu and Akuma since he tends to slack off every now and then, not to mention he has a family and a student. On the other hand Ryu and Akuma keep on training.
If Ken has the same amount of discipline as Ryu, then they could be matched. Nonetheless he is still pretty formidable.
Oro didn't say Ryu would surpass him but give him a good fight(I take that to mean equal). Anyway we're drawing our own conclusions. That is the difference. They have the similar skills, fighting style, but once Ryu starts fighting real, skills won't matter so much when likes of Ryu, Akuma, M. Bison meet with such like Ken.
There's something you're over looking. Akuma doesn't just see Ryu's potential in terms of fighting skills. That's only half of the equation. The second half, that ken lacks, Is the desire to win so badly that he'd kill for it. The Murderous intent that ryu showed against sagat. Ken's nature wouldn't allow him to go down that evil path, that's why he's ryu's anchor and shows up in the endings and in this video.
It's not overlooking. You forgot that was Ryu before. Ryu since then has matured and evolved. Ryu doesn't fight anymore to win. Win or lose, it doesn't matter to him anymore. He fights to improve. When looses, he learns from it. He was the one who rejected satsu no hadou, something Akuma couldn't. Akuma stil believes that even without it, Ryu can become more powerful then himself and is the one to defeat him.
Ryu doesn't go for a kill anymore. Win or lose, it doesn't matter to him anymore.
In this latest trailer, Akuma is still urging Ryu to unleash his killer intent, and says using the style that doesn't have an intent to kill is wrong. No kidding its this very trailer
It is nowhere stated in canon or hinted in the games that Gouki is Ryu's father. The movies are not canon. I don't think that is a denjin hadouken at the end, it's not blue and doesn't look very electric like the denjin does. I think Akuma is coming in with a death touch. The guy on the floor is Goutetsu, Gouken and Gouki's master, presumably just after being defeated by Gouki.
the sf4 producer did mention that they wouldnt put anyone in the anime squance that wasnt gonna be playable. Which means that gen akuma and gouken will be in it

Theres two different hadoukens. Denjin (the one where you charge it), and Shin (the usual one).
Shin Shoryuken owns and forever will LOL.

messatsu is the spelling...uh... I think its mesatsu. Dunno. but it's a Denjin Hadouken that Ryu's doing in the end, because hes actually focusing on controlling it. A messatsu hadouken is using the full extent of the hadouken to kill in one shot. Ryu's simply amping up a hadouken to his maximum potential.

Only Ken was little annoying. Ryu and Akuma are so much more powerful than Ken, that Ken actually wouldn't help Ryu in his battle with Akuma, but would be an annoyance.

Well then why try to connect the logic of anime series w/ this trailer? The series is actually very far from the logic of the games. It had Ryu learning the hadoken from Dhalsim and Fei Long learning Jeet Kune Do from Chun Li's father. It also had the pussiest version of Balrog ever.

I don't remember Ken ever being stronger. I remember Ken only beating Ruy, when Ryu wasn't himself. In original storyline, Ryu defeated Sagat.
We all know that the power within them, Ken cannot compare with Ryu, it's a no contest. Like Akuma said, when Ryu unleashes that power, all becomes joke, including Ken.
Ken is only annoyance to the power that Ryu and Akuma possesses.

Ken won't be able to reach the same level as Ryu and Akuma since he tends to slack off every now and then, not to mention he has a family and a student. On the other hand Ryu and Akuma keep on training.
If Ken has the same amount of discipline as Ryu, then they could be matched. Nonetheless he is still pretty formidable.

They had a same master, thus the same skill, but not the same potential.
He is not stronger than Ryu, quite the contrary. Ryu has so much more power than Ken, it's really not even a challenge.
Thata's why Akuma said, when Ryu starts fighting with his true power, all will become a joke.
Even Oro saw in Ryu sa the only worthy to inherit his fighting style and said Ryu could already surpass him in the next 15 years.

Oro didn't say Ryu would surpass him but give him a good fight(I take that to mean equal). Anyway we're drawing our own conclusions. But like someone else said, Ken has a family, that may be the only difference. Ken might have similar potential but ryu has clearly chosen the path that gouken did, because gouken is sort of like his father(he's an orphan as far as I know). Still, regardless ken has been able to keep up with Ryu. Ken probably would have laxed if not for his association with Ryu.

Ken is a good fighter, great fighter, but the difference is in their potential. Everyone has different potential, but it was always referred that Ryu has the greatest potential.
Oro saw that, Akuma did, M. Bison also.
That is the difference. They have the similar skills, fighting style, but once Ryu starts fighting real, skills won't matter so much when likes of Ryu, Akuma, M. Bison meet with such like Ken.

There's something you're over looking. Akuma doesn't just see Ryu's potential in terms of fighting skills. That's only half of the equation. The second half, that ken lacks, Is the desire to win so badly that he'd kill for it. The Murderous intent that ryu showed against sagat. Ken's nature wouldn't allow him to go down that evil path, that's why he's ryu's anchor and shows up in the endings and in this video.

It's not overlooking. You forgot that was Ryu before. Ryu since then has matured and evolved. Ryu doesn't fight anymore to win. Win or lose, it doesn't matter to him anymore. He fights to improve. When looses, he learns from it. He was the one who rejected satsu no hadou, something Akuma couldn't. Akuma stil believes that even without it, Ryu can become more powerful then himself and is the one to defeat him.
Ryu doesn't go for a kill anymore. Win or lose, it doesn't matter to him anymore.

Hold on, I'll burst your bubble here.
First of all, let's separate the timelines of the game's MAIN storyline.
Let's start with the earliest of the 3, Akuma.
Akuma saw Ryu as a potential Dark Hadou user when Ryu went looking for Akuma after feeling the murder intent when he was facing defeat against Sagat.
Next is Bison. Bison only had specific interest in SF:Alpha Ryu due to the fact that Bison wanted to use Ryu's body along with the Dark Hadou.

As for Oro liking Ryu, that was when Ken had settled down with his family in SF:III.
Ryu was the only one of the 2 who was showing continuous dedication to the arts.

It is nowhere stated in canon or hinted in the games that Gouki is Ryu's father. The movies are not canon. I don't think that is a denjin hadouken at the end, it's not blue and doesn't look very electric like the denjin does. I think Akuma is coming in with a death touch. The guy on the floor is Goutetsu, Gouken and Gouki's master, presumably just after being defeated by Gouki.

its hints it in all the Street fighter games (ryu can use the dark hado, its in his blood) they didn't learn it from their master becasue then ken would be able to use it too, and the only other persons who can use it are Akuma, and i think akuma's master can too not sure. and it would be awesome if he was ryu's father, plus in Street Fighter Alpha Generations it either says he is or strongly suggests so, i can't remember but maybe we will find out in the new game, and in the first alpha.......
