This is an awkward request, but I think you’ll get the point of it when you read it. I’m requesting that you use a dental dam on the next person you’re with. I don’t think it’s bad that you’re hypocritical, BUT you are in a position to talk about safe sex to people. A lot of people look to you for your reflections on experiences. I just think it’d be cool if you could say, “Hey, this is what a dental dam is, and YES, I have used one once.”

I feel like it's just as important to talk to someone before you have sex to make sure you've both been tested, etc. And then if you know there's nothing to pass around and that you're going to be monogamous, you're good. If it's not monogamous, not a dating situation, so on... then I could see being a little more towards using extra protection.

I'm inpressed Jess, you put it out there. The HPV responsible for cerivcal cancer is a contributing factor to the increase in oarl cancers. Dental dams should always be used until you are both tested and given a clean STD bill of health. It's been my experience in having that conversation with your partner, it opens door to less awkward future discussions. Safe sex is always the best sex.
