@Altair565 in battery park, if youre seen in the courtyard (even if you dont fire at any of the guards) it instigates the UNATCO troops to fight them, and youre blamed for it.... so go in the castle through the back way ;)

Only point I saw of doing it was the fact that you could get heaps of assault rifle ammo early in the next mission. That was the point of it. Otherwise, you had to wait until Hell's Kitchen before you could get an Assault Rifle.
