Nice job on this song! I hate that this song is so over done. It is one of the most gorgeous songs in musical theatre and you were so believable. :) I am auditioning in April! I cannot wait!
that was good, just one piece of criticism..why don't you hold the notes out? that would have made it so much nicer. it just seemed like you were talking in rhythm. but good job!
ive tasted blood dos not know what he is talking about. i am an mt student as well and i thought this was beautiful and genuine! i just think you could go a little deeper. start where you ended with the emotion and build from there
but that just comes with age and experience
! im just not a fan of the accompanist. how old are you?

You are fabulous! Your voice is soooo beautiful, keep up the good work! ^_^ I'm going to the open house on the 25th (in NY) and even THAT makes me a little nervous :P
Congratulations to everyone that got into AMDA! Here's to praying that you can stay in!!!
I went to L.A but had to drop out because it was getting WAY too expensive. My student loans are somewhere in the $60,000 range....and that was only for two semesters.
~~~~~~~~~
And as a side note, I SO know how you feel. In class they make you do SO many weird things in order for you to get to a certain point. What goes on in class pretty much stays in class.
I'm telling you right now that you really shouldn't be worried when you audition. Just be yourself and do your best. I know some people who go here who started off as mainly dancers and considering there isn't a dance portion of the audition, they got lucky. Don't get me wrong, they have made tremendous strides in their singing and acting, but I'm sure it was all about how they presented themselves during their auditions and that the potential to improve was there. You should be just fine. :)
Yeah I agree, you just need to present yourself with confidence. My audition wasn't the smoothest, since I screwed up my monologue. It was a disaster but I kept going. Improve is seriously my savior. I wish you luck at AMDA. I wasn't able to go but I'm rooting for you!!!
I would never be worried abbout auditioning for AMDA. I've known several people to be accepted into that school-- and they weren't very talented. It's more how in the world you'd be able to afford it.
dont get me wrong, you are a nice looking girl with a pretty voice, but this particular video is like a karaoke version. this isnt showtune material - at least your deliverance isnt showtune musical theatre.
where is your vocal range and your technique? why is your blocking so whack??? This is a highly magical song with a beautiful deep story behind it that basically TELLS YOU WHAT TO DO, it baffles me that this is your FINAL demo, maybe it was your first run through?
Ok I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but have you seen Les Mis? This song calls for very little movement and the blocking that I did do was instructed by my teacher. No this was not my first run through, but it also wasn't the finished product. Please keep your criticism constructive and not insulting. It's not the easiest song to perform effectively. I'd like to see you try it.
Sarah, I completely agree with you. I auditioned for AMDA this summer, got accepted but couldn't pay for it. They have a very strict policy, Whatever people say to you is crap. It is so much different when you perform for your class. You have a beautiful voice, break a leg out there, and do your damn best! I'm rooting for you all they way.
@ForeverCindy I absolutely love Les Miserables and the role of Eponine. And this is a song about yearning and realizing that her love for Marius isn't both ways. so like you said, the song does call for minimal blocking. the song if more effective that way. you did a very good job with this piece :] good luck with future performances!
I imagine that was her teacher saying, "Good girl!" and who are you all compared to that? I hate trolls on YouTube.
Now and again, you sound a little stacotto ("I think of him and then I'm happy with the company I'm keeping" for instance), but otherwise, wonderful.
Are you classically trained? "Known" was very good, but I instantly thought, "She's classical turned belter."
I'm auditioning for AMDA in May; my B.A. acting program isn't what I want in my training. I'm so nervous haha.
